One of my friends tried this on a game forum a while ago, and he was banned for 1 year. Some people are very hostile when it comes to Bitcoin. Bitcoin has built up quite a bad reputation over the

years, and a lot of people have lost a lot of money in the hacking of exchanges. So you are either going to be lucky or you will find one of these sites where they are open to these suggestions. I voted

yes, but I have had some bad experiences with people calling it a scam. One email will not turn these people, but when 1000's start asking for this, they might change their minds.  Grin

Always ready to do whatever I can to promote bitcoin.Glad to see already 960 votes in favor. Can't see where to cast my vote. Will check again later when on laptop

It is a pretty tiny button, heh.  Guess it partly depends on your screen res.  It's that little "plus" just under the (now I've voted) 961.

Never been a fan of Steam, so it's a pity they're one of the companies that decided to opt for BTC when I'm never going to buy from them.  GOG, however, are fantastic.

GOG.com is a site dedicated to offering DRM free games, legally from well-known mainstream publishers such as Activision, or Ubisoft; as well as indie developers such as CD Projekt (the guys who made The Witcher game series)
I've created a detailed post on their site feature requests, asking for them to accept Bitcoin, as well as explaining payment services like BitPay and Coinbase:
http://www.gog.com/wishlist/site/the_ability_to_purchase_games_via_bitcoin

If people sign up, and upvote this, we might just see an option for Bitcoin available at GOG.

To help gain support for this, you can place a link to this thread in your signature:

Nice to see that so many people are still voting, I might send them another message in a few weeks and post the link to that petition to show them the support.
But I'll be careful not to spam them Smiley

While GOG didn't and still don't accept bitcoin, then its rival Steam accepts bitcoin which makes them one step ahead.

Wearing the signature that is mentioned in the first posts is worthless and don't make any differences.

P.S just voted there and at the moment it has 960 votes.

I like this kind of things where we can help each other and bitcoin community. If they see enough interested people they will start to accept btc.
Good luck too all of us!

I've received a reply from GOG, it's not what I had hoped for, but here it is:

I still hope that they would consider adding Bitcoin in the future though.
well everything is possible in the future, if it will become really mainstream and a lot of companies will add them then they will also accept it

Would be great to see another place accept bitcoin Smiley

But, steam and origin dominate the and only few people who know/use GOG.
Also, steam provide various currency and publisher/developer usually give cheaper price to 2nd/3rd country compared with GOG.com

Gog has a really nice niche market for older games specifically and I've mentioned Steam and G2A in my mail to them, always a good idea to mention that their competitors are offering more features than them Smiley

Well this topic is quite old. Did they answer to your wish ?
I've just sent them a mail asking if they would consider adding Bitcoin payments in the near future, will post the reply when/if I receive it.

Great ! Let us know if you need any help along the process.
It would be helpful to add a comment to the petition if you already have an account there, or if you don't mind making one.
Here's the link to the petition again: https://www.gog.com/wishlist/site/the_ability_to_purchase_games_via_bitcoin

You can also send in suggestions, through their support, no account needed for that.

I knew this site before even though I never actually buy something there, but if there's a thing that supports Bitcoin in the gaming industry I will definitely support that. I'm sure that we certainly can do this, just like what we did before with Steam.

The petition is still going on so please vote if you want to buy games with Bitcoins. They sometimes have very good offers on new games as well, this weekend they had Witcher 3 for $24.
Weird to see this topic from 2013 being revived, but it's acceptable in this case, people are still adding lots of comments now in 2016.
Has there been a new reply from GOG themselves about this?

We might be able to make it happen if enough people here go over there and make a comment about it!
