What if a newbie just registered and tried to spin and win the legendary rank, then he started to ask what is blockchain, what is crypto, how we can use crypto to make a profit, what is bitcoin core is, etc.. If he did not know the basics then he deserved not to get a legendary rank or hero or any type of rank. Why don't schools implement this rule to provide some fun to students? Because to spend some fun time we don't have to modify merit or rank system instead we have to find something interesting. Where we can enjoy.
If you are not a good IT-educated person and want to get merits or ranks then educate your self instead of gambling on ranks or merits. Make yourself worthy enough, so that others will support and appreciate you with merits, and your rank will increase.

Just imagine, there were some proposals to introduce a demerit system.
So, for example, because of this nonsense you write here, you would lose the merit you have gained. Sounds like fun. 

Right, but why should we additionally encourage them? When I first came on this forum there still were quite many one line posters with meaningless content. There were pages and pages on nonsense. Now we still have many posts made just to post something, just to get enough activity or reach a week quota in a signature campaign, but we have much much less meaningless content. So merit system worked as expected. By the way I came here just several months after its implementation.

Of course it's not an ideal system, but it made situation much less catastrophic. Who has seen what was before merit system will agree with me.

You have been asked to provide proof, and the fact that you’re unable to earn merit and still come to meta to create this type of thread proves that you’re a spammer.

What is the real reason for the fun you want, brother? According to your think, it would be better to do that if you exclude the merit system, just post and the rank will increase, spammers will fill the forum while posting. In this case those who well poster will rank up later. Is it ok bro, brother, it will be more good and fun!? dude the merit system is not just for fun, the main purpose of the merit system is to encourage those who are contributing to the forum by posting good posts.

I am not an IT man and I joined the forum as a newbie, with very little knowledge about Bitcoin. Here I am with 3700+ merit, all self earned, no single one from airdrop when merit system kick-off.

How did I do this?

that is one of the worst examples to give. Of course, someone who has a higher IT education will probably be a step higher than someone with just "homemade IT knowledge".

this is just a sad mentality, you know they can give merit to the "home-educated members" as long as they find the post is useful and deserves merit not sure why you would think they wouldn't give merit to someone who did not have the same education as them.

There is some kind of such a free spins: you make some interesting posts on the forum and get a chance of winning some merits or even enough merits for a new rank. Cool, right? If you spend your time on the forum for your learning and having fun it will just take some time and you'll get all: merits, ranks, etc. No need to hurry, all free spins are yours!

P.S. I don't have any degree in IT. Maybe it's what I should work on in the future, but as for now I don't.

In general it's true that more educated people earn more Merit. That's not a flaw, the whole point of the Merit system is to get rid of shitposts. I'm surprised you got 16 already, I have you on Ignore on my main account.

1. No one spends free time in this forum.
2. A lot of interesting things are presented to develop the life of this forum like. Rewards giveaway, merit giveaway by good post, giving merit to help for rank up, many things that motivate new and old members.
3. You can earn money in this forum. Bounty, signature campaign, buy and sell your skills service etc.
4. The admins of this forum always do the right and valuable things so respect them.

You weren't here before the merit system was introduced. There are still spammers and trash posters in the forum, but the number has significantly increased. Just because you're unable to gain merit doesn't mean that the merit system is broken. It's not perfect by any means, but why don't you look at how you can improve yourself rather than blame the system instead? This forum has thousands of members, a huge number of whom have managed to rank up to the higher ranks. There's a decent chance that I won't rank up to Legendary anytime soon, but it's not the system to blame, and it's not really necessary, to be honest. Sr. and Hero member ranks are equally great, and the forum has an abundance of members in those ranks.

A quick look at your posts and it's pretty safe to mention why you haven't gained more: little to no contribution in your replies, some with poor grammar and vocabulary mistakes (this is the least of the issues), one or two lines at most, and generally not creating any proper engagement with the forum. I don't mean to attack you, but your claiming that the merit system is a complete mistake is rather offensive, taking into account that you signed up a few months ago.

It's a good method of bringing more spammers into the forum! It doesn't matter if you are higher educated or not; as long as you are contributing to the forum, you will get some merit as appreciation. Why do you need merits in the first place if you think it was a mistake by the admin to introduce the merit system? It looks like you are not happy that your useless post is not getting enough merit to rank up so that you can join the BTC-paid signature campaign.

This forum is not to make someone's life happy. It's a place for newcomers to bitcoin to learn about it. There are many boards in the forum that serve different purpose and for people from different backgrounds. There is an economy board, speculation, trading discussion, meta, Games and Rounds, Gambling, local board, politics, bitcoin, and WO(where all the fun stuff is going on ). Anyone without an IT background can do better in the forum as well. I rank up from the beginning, and my educational background is not in IT.

Forum members need some fun too, why not ?

I think some how, if you can even listen to what you are saying here, you will find out that it's just a bunch of trash. You are saying that the merit and membership ranks should be gambled just as in the casinos. The merit system was designed to award quality contributions to the forum and not some kind of game. If you must rank up, you have to earn merits. That shows how useful you have been contributing to the forum.


The forum works just fine and I still don't make any sense of what you are suggesting. When it comes to fun, there are lots of fun activities in the forum where members gets to showcase different kinds of talent and wins a good price so I don know what other fun you want on the forum. I will suggest you close this thread to avoid abusive replies form other members.

Merit is useless? and a spin game that gives forum members the opportunity to win either merit or a higher rank would be better, Op sport to say but did you even sit down to think about your post before you posted it? How were you even able to come up with such an idea in the first place? I guess too much gambling has been affecting you lately.

The reason for merit creation is to discourage spamming here in the forum, since spammers won’t be able to rank up if they continue with their posting style and to also encourage those that are contributing things that are related in a discussion so if you’re unable to earn merit then you need to sit down and reevaluate your post history and check if you yourself should that same type of post you have been making from a different user will you award them with merit? There’s no need for you to start bringing up dumb suggestions just because the merit system did not favour you.

Trust me, there are many of use that came to the forum with zero to no knowledge of what bitcoin is or what the forum is but we took our time to learn and it did pay off, but nowadays instead of learning you’d rather just copy from different platforms and present it as yours or look for other ways to bypass the merit system.

This suggestion of yours will not be put into consideration because the suggestion is basically useless so I’d advise you lock this thread and face reality because you’re going to receive so many bashes from this thread.

There are a lot of forum members, who spend their free time in this forum. And sometimes forum life need some fun for development, so I think admin must make virtual roulette in the meta board with free spins for all members. So forum member make free spins and win - either merits or next membership each day, even hero and legendary membership. So this will be more attractive forum and not so serious.
The forum merits is one of the biggest admin mistakes, they are 100% useless, ( for example, forum member with IT higher education will almost always be step higher than any other member with just home made IT knowledge, so how can home educated forum member can give merits in IT field to member with university education ).
Spammers and trash posters are present in all forums, also here - merit system can not help, if the member want to spam & trash, he/she will do it.
Spam/trash is subjective too, for me this Economics board thread with many replies Has everyone become too pesimistic about the economy? for forum with international members is spam/trash, but at the same time other forum members may be like it.
So I think this gamble roulette will make forum life more fun & happy.
