I can already see it... every country has their own GovCoin and Bitcoin are the coin that brings it all together. The other GovCoins are forced

onto citizens by their governments, but the people from other planets all use bitcoins as a interstellar payment method. The Blockchain is the

most decentralized network in this galaxy ...not this planet.  Cheesy

It's very possible. I often like to say however that blockchain will succeed - but Bitcoin will fail. The media have painted such a nasty image of Bitcoin, and the public are too stupid to see past it.

have you not checked bitcoin's media coverage recently? the pathetic hatchet jobs are pretty much a thing of the past. the longer it sticks around the more legit it becomes. it's starting to be taken seriously. people know it ain't going anywhere.

I agree. the PTB have accepted crypto as inevitable.  They only want to control and own it now Smiley

Let's wonder a little. The year is 2057.

(By the way, Chris Pratt is the POTUS, sorry about that)

How do you imagine yourself with your bitcoins? How do you imagine the World you'll live in related to the cryptos?

Blockchain rules the world (from elections to the way your grandchildren interact with friends) and BTC is everywhere? Another crypto that does not even exist yet is now the king and both blockchain and BTC are seen as a museum piece, such as a steam locomotive?
The year of 2057 will be a great year for bitcoin because i think that the countries already adopted bitcoin and a lot of malls and merchants in all around the world is related with bitcoin and they are also accepting payment thru bitcoin. The blockchain is the most main stream technology in 2057 and that is a year that worth to wait.

I do not think that blockchain is strong enough to survive to that point. Modern technology is growing very fast, it definitely needs a stronger technology, the blockchain is showing its weakness at the moment, so I think another technology will replace it. .

i think its safe to say there will be at least a few major paradigm shifts (maybe robotics, AI) and things none of us can predict or possibly even imagine now.

I think by 2057, cryptocurrencies will be dominant.  State issues currencies will still be around but much much weaker.

BU vs segwit argument is still going but no one remembers why....

it'll be a global war by then without a single settlement that isn't reduced to rubble.

i'll probably be long dead by then so i'll avoid the draft.

Hmm interesting thoughts - i'll donate one of mine. Crypto-currencies are the only method of payment widely accepted, all else comes secondary and is frowned upon. Keep in mind a lot has to happen before this... unfortunately some people still think the government and big brother only have the public's best interest in mind... the fools we live with *shaking head*

Obviously, it would literally take over the world in terms of trading and buying.
Everything would be automated and tattoo wallets for our bitcoins would be used.
Where you'd just point it on a scanner and go get your groceries, etc.

But i really wouldn't care that much coz by then, id probably be dead.

i would be so glad if still life on that year to see bitcoin reach the highest achievement with conquer the world and if this is happening which mean there will be no more paper money because all people starting use bitcoin as their daily activity

The world is growing, virtual currency is being used more widely, and in the future, it can become the world's common currency, it could be bitcoin, or it could be another which is vigorous and stronger.

BTC will be worth $1,000,000+ by then. It will have both the properties of gold and fiat thanks to second layer solutions. The idiots blocking segwit would have been weeded out a long time ago. Jihad Wu and Roger Ver will be in jail/broke due bad decisions along the way/scams. Bitmain will be bankrupt due AMD and Intel joining the mining game and deprecating their cheap chinese trash.

Countries like Switzerland will be tax havens for bitcoiners where they can pay 100% with BTC for everything. Of course cash will not exist by then.

I suppose that in 2057 that things that seem normal and ordinary now in our lifes will look like prehistorical and some people will remained about it with nostalgia and other with laugh. Just like we remained now how we watched movies on videocassette and kids even don't know what is it. The technology is developing very fast and Bitcoin and all it's technology will change. I can not even suppose what is going to be next in the future, but I think bitcoin-based technology will enter in every house in that year.

If you are in the mid 30's we enjoy playing betamax then it was replaced by the VHS then it was replaced by the CD player then it was replaced by the DVD player. Its funny how technology changes very fast and on 2057 mp3 and mp4 will be forgotten just like what happened to betamax. But I am certain that bitcoin will continue to prosper and by that time several countries have already adopted it and its value will be stabled.

Perhaps people won`t even use money or cryptocurrencies.

That's exactly what I'm doubting. Money is an ancient tool. It is simple and useful, but we perhaps can get a better tool to coordinate the connection of work, needs and (scarce and non-scarce) resources.

I can see two different money-less scenarios:
- money is replaced by an artificially intelligence that continuously monitors resource usage, human work and the evolution of the needs of the individuals and incentives the people with some kind of non-monetary reward if they act for the good of the society. It will be a bit of a "Big brother" society, only that most humans will feel fine because they will have to work much less than now and most if not all needs are covered.
- we don't need money at all because everything is automated and human work isn't needed anymore.

Bitcoin wouldn't play a major role in both, although it could have been used before the establishment of such a system to fund it, or a blockchain-like system is used to monitor resource usage. Bitcoin could also end as some kind of play money, for people that are nostalgic with the 2010s (and maybe 2020s).

(Maybe 2057 is a bit early for these scenarios and I'm talking about 2097 or 2157 Wink )

The year is 2057:
Senator Barron Trump asks for donations in BTC since "the Dollars my Daddy left me are worthless."

Thats really funny. Its 2057 and i dont see trump a president of USA for 30 years.  Wink  I can only see Bitcoins every where and no sign of Trump and Even no more US Dollar and no paper money.
Barron Trump is the youngest son of Donald Trump. Of course Donald Trump won't be able to stay president for that long, but 40 years from now, Barron Trump will be like 50 years old, since his father is a president, so he is more likely to become a politician too. Barron is just a kid, let him live his life for now.

Back to the topic, Bitcoin need to survive for 40 years to reach 2057, a huge challenge, if somehow Bitcoin is still survive, I predict Bitcoin will be the world currency, everything about online money will be bitcoin, bitcoin there, bitcoin here.

In 2057: BitCoin is now owned by a very few people and hence is highly valuable. There are no circulating btc either, very scarcely we see a transaction happening with bitcoin, every is converted to the new king of crypto, which in the back end is centralized, but people are forced to use only that.
Bitcoin use is punishable by death in many states and countries.

this sounds more like the plot of a science fiction movie directed by Christopher Nolan! maybe we can get the 87 year old (by 2057 of course) Matt Damon to play the role of someone who is the "outlaw" and uses bitcoin irregardless of the punishment laws Cheesy
we can call it "return to Elysium" as a sequel.

Nice spoken Smiley yeah that would be a very nice movie with an old Matt Damon... Hopefully we can extend our lives in 2057 already would be great if you have still cryptocurrancys
