If one of your accounts gets banned, they will all get banned if discovered. On Bitcointalk, they don't ban the account, they ban the person behind the account making the posts. So if you get banned and you come back to start over, that new account of yours will also get banned once a connection has been proven. It's called ban evasion and is against the rules. If you get banned, all you an do is create an alt account to appeal the ban.

maybe they will be sad if it happens..the contribution is high but the correction is too late..i personally prefer 1 account but it can be useful for many people..a lot of work is not done, even a topic of discussion is not finished..I learned a lot about masters here ..

Surely you have encountered newbie with 1 post who make off-topic reply which include random link. That kind of user who share shady website/perform SEO spam is banned on daily basis and i report them almost everyday.
I've seen posts like that.. of course they don't want to be like that.. because maybe they want to post quickly but don't understand a good and correct discussion.. will be tested with time. newbies can develop and mature with forums not just rankings that are pursued but the art of discussion and useful knowledge .. it will be very difficult to accept the fact when the post is deleted for beginners .. between continuing or stopping a criticism to build ..nice to learn with you

Rikafip just gave you an example of how you shouldn't have done, but you run into your "truth". What do you want from the moderators, since you think that you did everything right?

I solicit to know the reason for the ban. So as to avoid further reoccurrence and i will make amend to all necessary observations as suggested if my account is unbanned.

Sad Sad Sad
The quoting style you advise only suggest the post could be more appropriated in standard than not, and NOT that i "plagiarized".

Since I often send reports to moderators, I noticed that if an account receives a lot of complaints about various reasons, it still has a lot of chances to improve. But, sometimes, as I understand it, there comes a critical moment when patience runs out.
You still very desperately defend your posts, believing that you did everything right. But why don't you think that your past mistakes could be forgotten?

Rikafip just gave you an example of how you shouldn't have done, but you run into your "truth". What do you want from the moderators, since you think that you did everything right?
And then, now you have a lot of time, you can view the requests of others and observe how long some accounts waited for the ban to be canceled, while others did not even wait.
One thing I noticed is that the lack of responses from the moderators is a very bad sign for a banned account.

In this my own case, the reason for the ban remains unclear.
Even though it probably didn't cause your ban (as you usually shared the reference link at the bottom of your copypasta), one thing I don't understand: why you ignored all the warning that what you are doing is not the proper way deal with verbatim copy?

I (and few others) warned you almost two months ago about that, yet you continued doing the same. For some reason mods decided not to act on my report, and that post is still there. Who knows, if you got more of your topics reported maybe you would realize that what you are doing is wrong.

@Nathrixxx  Not a single word in your post has been written by you, as you just copy/pasted everything from that article without properly formatting the text and without adding anything of your own. Classic low value merit fishing shitpost that has been reported to the mods.

Having links in my post is what i do and i don't think its against the rule while i ensure quoting where necessary but i think what i try to avoid is excessive quoting where by i think if the link is there it will serve a reference point for further read ups, if you check my profile you'll discover not every of my post is an article post, i also made posts from my thinking. The quoting style you advise only suggest the post could be more appropriated in standard than not, and NOT that i "plagiarized".

I also stated on the appeal on occasions whereby some of the high ranked members do put me through on how to post with an accurate standard and I've been improving on ever since. I believe learning is a process and you cant expect the tempo of high rank member compared with the low rank members, experience is a perfect teacher.

The main idea is whenever a ban is placed it must follows a cogent reason to back it up,
It mustn't, but I agree that it should show the user the exact reason why he/she got banned. That would reduce the number of threads being created for the sole reason of asking why. All the ban message says is that plagiarism or spam are the most common reasons.

i dont plagiarize and if possibly any reason could have lead to the ban then it could have been temporary ban instead of permanent ban
It's been discussed many times in the past, but the fact remains that if users are find plagiarizing, most of them get permanently banned. Some are pardoned after an appeal, but many aren't.

In this my own case, the reason for the ban remains unclear.
You will have to wait for some input from a mod. I have seen that hilariousandco sometimes explains his decisions if he is the one that issued the ban. mprep is also willing to discuss his view of the rules from time to time.

Information from local forums isn't going to help OP. His account got banned and the right way of asking a pardon or finding out why is to post in Meta or contact a mod/admin. What knowledge would users of his local board have that could help him?

The main idea is whenever a ban is placed it must follows a cogent reason to back it up, i dont plagiarize and if possibly any reason could have lead to the ban then it could have been temporary ban instead of permanent ban, I cant remember precisely maybe by (theymos) on a thread i red on the forum talking about placing ban, which is in three stages, provided its not an automatic permanent ban offense. Temporary ban could include 3 days warning temporary ban, 7 days warning temporary ban before a permanent ban can be placed on such user, this is the protocol I know the forum has in place.

In this my own case, the reason for the ban remains unclear.

news about being banned for an account is quite rare in my ears..
Users are getting banned on Bitcointalk on a daily basis.

have you checked in your country's sub forum?
Information from local forums isn't going to help OP. His account got banned and the right way of asking a pardon or finding out why is to post in Meta or contact a mod/admin. What knowledge would users of his local board have that could help him?

have you ever followed a bounty??
People don't get banned for participating or organizing bounty campaigns unless said campaigns break one or more of the unofficial rules.

try to learn how to sign address. or anything that helps with account recovery efforts..
He doesn't need to that. He didn't lose access to the account and it wasn't hacked. It was banned. Signed messages help when you are trying to prove that an account ownership.
thank you.. i give what i know..what you say indirectly i also learn about managing an account..if the only one banned is contacting mod that is the right way..because the forum representatives are certainly highly dedicated and have ways to make suggestions. either it can still be used or it's time to start again at bitcointalk.org have you ever had problems with accounts bro??

LETTER OF APPEAL FOR PERMANENT BAN LIFT

With my little stay on Bitcointalk.org forum ever since i join in July this year, this platform has been a good and of a reputable standard in educating and impacting positive insight on Bitcoin and other crypto to me and has really helped my growth to the rank of member and with few activities (days) left to get to the rank of "Full Member". This couldn't have been possible but with the help a dedicated forum's members and thier cognate posts and online researches all helped me through this.

One of the basics i ensure and diligently follow is the forum's rules and regulations knowing fully that the forum does not accept nor tolerate any abuse use of the forum. To my surprise I discovered my account @Nathrixxx was place on a "permanently ban"  this morning and i quickly check on my recent post if i mistakenly made a mistake but couldn't find any.

I always accept corrections and take heed not to go against the forum's rules and with such i do include appropriate link(s) on articles i post and even advice newbies to strictly adhere to the forum's rules against plagiarism among others.

I know possibly i might have be wrong unknowingly that might have led to the ban placed on my account @Nathrixxx but am writing this letter to "APPEAL" for lift of permanently ban placed on my account @Nathrixxx and accept any wrong i might have made and take heed against any future reoccurrence.
Thank you.

news about being banned for an account is quite rare in my ears.. although there are also those who have experienced stories like this..your steps to appeal hopefully can be fruitful considering a rank only with patience and the main perseverance.. indeed gain knowledge like you tell me.. rank is just a bonus but it's important.. if in my sub forum there is a guide when an account gets hacked or banned, what's the explanation.. have you checked in your country's sub forum? usually complete..have you ever followed a bounty?? try to learn how to sign address. or anything that helps with account recovery efforts.. good luck

Bitcointalk.org forum is with no doubt of a good reputation with zero tolerance for injustice and segregation which means it serve an equal right to every participating members on the forum with no gender bias, in regards to this, the forum also created a "Meta" board were all forum's related activities can be brought to discuss.

Obviously its four days now that I filed an Appeal regarding my account @Nathrixxx that was placed on permanent ban since 1st of November 2021 and the major reason for such remains unclear to me and other forum's members despite various suggestive opinions "guessed" by members to have possibly be the reason why but no "cognate" proof was stated why my account was banned.

I employ that this should be looked into as not to pervert justice and individuals right and opinions been deprived.
Thank you

You said that you followed the rules but still made a mistake. You must not have read and understood all of them since you're doing something that are against the rules and that you are not aware about things like not quoting properly, copying and paraphrasing are not allowed in the forum. Well, i see that you add the preference but still you could have done it better.

I hope mod will give you a chance to start over again with your main account because it's such a waste and if they do give you a chance, make sure you've learnt your lesson to not make the same mistake again.

Just yesterday I saw that you were warned that you are doing an incorrect quotation.
https://loyce.club/archive/posts/5830/58306914.html
Yeah I warned him that what he is doing is not the right way. Looking now at his post history, seems like he did use quotations properly from time to time, so I guess he either became lazier, or simply wanted to appear more knowledgeable than he really is and squeeze more merit.

I'm very interested in this case as well, is the ban plagiarism or because of too much low quality posts (links from article).
Wouldn't he first get temporary ban, if its because of low quality posts? Since he got perma banned, I guess he forgot to include links for some of his topics

My problem with people copying article and posting on the forum frequently is that they become addicted to doing so just because one or two topics were merited and when this continues, they end up always delivery very low quality posts which isn't hygienic to the forum.
Pretty much this; they get merit couple of times, and then they start doing all kind of shady work, skipping using proper quotes because then it would be obvious they just copypasted majority of the text.

One of the examples of that is his topic Privacy while making use of Bitcoin for which he got ~40 merits. At first look it seems like he wrote that topic using his own words as there are no quotation marks whatsoever, while there are some reference link at the bottom.  If you check it bit more thoroughly, it is obvious that topic is a combination of his own words, paraphrasing and direct copy/paste, but it's mixed up all together in a way that it looks like his own words. So no wonder that he continued with that practice as he saw it works and brought him tons of merit for not too much work.

edit: @lovesmayfamilis thanks, sorted.

Majority of us sees those news and it becomes boring seeing them repeated on the forum. One or two post in this format is ok but when your post history is full of them and you're known for this, you attract spam reports to your account and who knows a mistake could be found where you forgot to include link to source. Well I warned and other did as well, taught the habit was dropped after I called you out but I guess I was wrong. I just hope your plead is heard as it'll be sad to lose your contributions to our local thread.

Another country man account getting banned in matter of just months and this is becoming a trend as immediate they rank up they get banned for the same plagiarism. This isn't saying much good towards us and it's becoming worrisome.

If you got busted for plagiarism, there's little chance your ban is going to be reversed and you can forget about any improvements, because you're done on bitcointalk.
Lovesmayfamilies had warned Natrixxx on Nigeria local thread before about his ways of posting, CryptopreneurBrainboss warned him also at the time not to be quotting excessively which makes his post of low quality. And in fact, I was the one that warned him the most.

The reason he was banned would likely be what lovesmayfamilies posted above, while copying and pasting articles from another sites which he was excessively doing in form of quotting before but later using only links. This is highly not professional and making his post of low quality which veteran members of this forum will all against.

He created a thread yesterday with such copy/paste but link included, the thread was taken down and later his account was banned, the reason I think it could be the reason for the ban.

But with all what have been posted above before mine, no solid evidence that Nathrixxx plagiarized. It will be good if there is a concrete evidence that he truly plagiarized by not adding a link. Or it will be best if moderator can let us know the reason he was banned, maybe not even about plagiarism.

Damn it, another user got caught plagiarizing after I helped them rank up.  Undecided

How many examples have already been, how many have already been said about this, but all the same, newbie users have the same problem.  Sad
Well, you're a very generous merit source who likes to help out newbies, and there's nothing wrong with that--but you have to be very careful with very new members who consistently make exceptional posts, because on this forum that just isn't the norm.  And it's been the case many times that when you see newbies like that, they're usually plagiarizing.  It's that simple.

I never had any intention to go against the rule and once am been corrected i take heed and if its the quoting style used that is not professional enough then i will yield to suggested ideas.

I never had any intention to go against the rule and once am been corrected i take heed and if its the quoting style used that is not professional enough then i will yield to suggested ideas. I could remember some times back am in Jr member rank, some higher rank members do make observable corrections to how we can post right which has also helped us to learn and improve and I ensure all article posts i put link.

I solicit to know the reason for the ban. So as to avoid further reoccurrence and i will make amend to all necessary observations as suggested if my account is unbanned.

Why were you banned? Do you have any other accounts that are banned?
Copy paste, plagiarism. I know it because I made one post in that thread which was moved to trash can already.

I don't remember Nathrixx added source link or not but ETFBitcoin pointed out the source that OP used without quote (not sure about source link, as said).

So I guess it is a permanent ban because of plagiarism
I think it is important to distinguish between using a source link and a post that merely copies without a source link. The former is clearly trying to comply with anti-plagiarism rules. This is especially true if multiple sources are being used and the post is coherent. If the post has no source links, they are simply plagiarizing.

I don't recognize this person, but he has received over 100 merit, and has more merit than activity, which I think says something.

Have you sent an email to the address provided in the ban message? That's one of the quickest ways to alert the mods to your case along with an appeal thread like this one.

I've noticed you around the forum and while you post with a lot of copy pasted works, you didn't seem to  do it with malicious intent and was not on a signature, IIRC. It's up to the mods to decide whether to unban you account.
