With the restricted access and withdrawal and probably no trading on exchange, Libra possibly may not have any impact on the price of bitcoin. It could be just another bongo token. But it has popularised the word cryptocurrency to the world. The news about Libra are making a topic even in local news outlets in my country. It was even asked in a quiz contest on a national level TV show. So, its making cryptocurrencies popular.

I got a feeling that all that hype from Libra impacted on the gains of bitcoin price. Is the slump this week weighted on the bad media comments about Libra?

This definitely affected the price of bitcoin, unfortunately, but soon everything will stabilize

The current price boost in Bitcoin is said to be associated with the comments made by congressmen in the Libra hearing in the Financial committee of the house of representative. They seem to have realized there's no going back from bitcoin. And as of Libra, being an stable coin from a large enterprise, it would certainly impact positively on the price of bitcoin.

Are you kidding me? don't make me laugh, how can Libra have a big impact if it is not launching yet. Then if ever, Bitcoin got dumped it is because not Libra, this was happened several times, so stop spreading FUD that libra is the reason why Bitcoin went down its price value. In fact, Libra has no impact into bitcoin.

I don't think so that the Libra has impacted on Bitcoin price, however, if we think on that perspective it seems that Libra was a bubble which has raised at the time of BTC price hike, otherwise, BTC price upsurge is predicted before the Libra launch.

Libra on its own has no effects on bitcoin price and will never have any in the long term.
the only thing that Facebook has caused is a lot of drama in this world and whenever there is some drama going on the day traders tend to go extra crazy which is why we are seeing the current extra volatility in bitcoin price.
but this small effect like the other small ones that we have will also wear off soon.

Is this really a BS?theres a lot of new created account to advertise this libra coin?i guess this is too much advertising when there are some troubles they must make answer first

The Us president has been not in favor of their release so for the mean time let’s stop the flooding of libra coin

I don't think it's BS at all, considering that Libra has actually the potential to become the next big thing. I don't also see this as an advertisment strategy at any point. Why would these new accounts waste their time creating new accounts just to talk about Libra? I don't get the point.

Remember the time when Friendster is still the top social medium in the internet, then here comes the Facebook making a surge to the top.

That's also the reason why I think the US government is putting pressure on Facebook's Libra. Taking into account the success of Facebook as the world's most popular social medium, there's a huge possibility that Libra will be the next big thing in the world of cryptocurrency.

Anyways, going back to the OP, I really think that the issue about Libra has something to do with the bitcoin price. Bitcoin and altcoins has this chain reaction. f you're a great observer, you will notice that mind conditioning plays a huge part on the decision making of the crypto holders/owners, thus affecting the market as a whole.

Bitcoin price moves on major news, but this Libra is not related to bitcoin because its altcoin so I don’t see any relationship between this two aside from being cryptocurrency and the adoption of big companies. We talked so much about Libra, this is also another way to hype that coin. The price pump and dump of bitcoin is normal, we used to see that already so don’t bother to know why.

For sure Libra will popularize cryptocurrencies, even though it won't be a cryptocurency itself. I believe it will have a strong impact on BTC price.

Yes, I once thought that way, but unfortunately it doesn't really support the actual facts, we all know that halving will happen in 2020, so everyone wants to spend money to buy bitcoin this year

So many awareness on libra coin coming up on this community and I feel it's another plot to gain more attention for them. The past few days drop of bitcoin price wasn't because of the so called libra coin but a drop in price which happens in the space and to include the US and other majority bodies including I won't support the libra coin because of it blockchain system and the CEO behind it. I stand with the decentralised fact of bitcoin.

I don't think libra has/will have too much of a impact on bitcoins price. One is a centralised company coin the other is the worlds first decentralised cryptocurrency, they are two completely different things.

the only good thing (for Zuc) about Libra is the amount of customers he already have, Facebook and WA have shitloads of users and many of them will buy/use Libra coin.
Other than that, to me it's like a new cartel created to get more money and information from the users.

If finally libra is realized, I don't think it will have a big effect on the price movements of bitcoin. There may have been hundreds of types of cryptocurrency that appeared and sank but still bitcoin became the first. What distinguishes Libra from other cryptocurrency is only a strong network that has been formed through Facebook and WhatsApp, especially with a stable coin platform that may not attract too many people.

Well, Libra has not been created, and some experts have condemned their business model already. This Libra will have to incorporate KYC with libra users which is a bad design and against the decentralized system and the government don't even trust them with keeping privacy.

OP, no don't be stupid. How can something that will never be launched be an impact, in any way, on Bitcoin?

Bitcoin is a self-bootstrapped, decentralized, permissionless, cryptocurrency-based, financial network made from thin air. Libra is literally thin air.

being the world's most adopted digital currency maybe.

they scared the government for sure, cause they could compete with commercial banks, central banks and become the "bridge" between crypto and mass adoption.

don't tribalize the things, try to think clearly. calm down...

The Facebook Libra is a testament that Bitcoin has actually come to stay and not a bubble or a tulip kind of stuff. This increased demand for Bitcoin, thus part of the bull run we have noticed. However, on the dip I believe it has to do with the negative bashing of Bitcoin by the US president, Donald Trump. Regrettably, my guess is that Trump is bush talking Bitcoin to FUD so he can buy the dip.
