Anywhere that has lenient rules on gambling. THOUGH not a "country," I have heard Indian reservations in US or Canada have favorable licensing.

Hey guys thankyou for your response.

This raises a very good question. Which country would be good to incorporate an exchange for instance?

Watch out you don't deal with Canada laws if you don't want troubles like just-dice have.

Since I did not see any mention of panama would say that seems like a friendly environment
A few Bitcoin exchanges and companies are based in that country at this time so it may be the place to open it
That said as others have said it depends with which countries you do business with.

No need for licence if you gonna use bitcoin for gambling, you can buy hosting and domain anonymously with bitcoin and nobody will know who you are.

It would still be good to host it in a more lasseiz-faire country. Court orders can compel providers to release identity information.

Well hello there!
Places I would look into if OP is serious.

1.) Germany (no need to pay taxes if BTC held > 1 year)
2.) Isle of Mann
3.) Bali
4.) Denmark (sneaking suspicion these guys will be extremely crypto-friendly within a year)

Hey,

Thankyou for your response but it is not as simple as that.
Bitcoin gambling is based on Fiat currency so depends on what country are your players from.

Duke
Only if you have exchange on your gambling site you should beware where is server based and have licence for gambling and exchange, otherwise you dont need to worry if you just opening gambling site for bitcoins.

Hey,

There is literally no way for them to track where the money is going. Online poker chips do not have a barcode or ref number like fiat money does, this is the reason why so many Gambling sites were used as money laundering funds in the U.S.A.
Its funny no one ever mentions that.

People do need licenses and in fact Ireland is the best country for this.
They are really fast and dont put a lot of pressure on you.

Yea, Ireland is awesome.....they made sure Full Tilt didnt scam millions of dollars....   Roll Eyes

How could have they known that Full Tilt wasn't getting the money that people were depositing?

I understand that Ireland is great for taxes if you do not have a lot of business in Ireland (like setting up a "headquarters" in Ireland)

This is the land of wolves now & you're not a wolf
I believe that Panama may be a good option for this...not 100% sure though, you would have to really look into it...

I am sure the license are very expensive.
I am actually interested but the cost is already throwing me off.
Maybe if there was a chance to rent a license or become a sub holder for it.

Do BTC casinos need licence, if you dont deal in real FIAT then most countries dont seem to care until you trade back to FIAT and make a profit.

It doesn't matter where your online casino is based, it matters where it does business.

Anyone that does business in the US needs to comply with US law, and the same is true for any other country.

This is true but it's absurd.  There should be no silly boundary called "country" in the virtual world.

Countries, nations, and government are so getting obsolete, they are becoming more ridiculous by the day.

You should think of it as if the website has a physical store in the country it was doing business in.

If you were shopping in a store on main street in the town you live in would you expect it to comply with the local laws?

Some gambling businesses in the U.S got licenses for Bitcoin casinos. I think one of them was John & Sally.

I agree with you. The Internet or virtual world is a infinite space of knowledge, that can't be copyrighted or actually controlled or banned. The Governments can't do shit about that.

Hey,
I wish what you say could be a reality but that is not the case. Even if as a casino operator i dont get a license which i really dont care about becuase its just a piece of paper with a stamp on it, players and other people somehow feel secure dealing with a company who has a license. Also it doesnt say anywhere that people with license dont steal money or dont perform illegal activities. Its just a false sense of security in my opinion.

But im really interested in this Ireland topic. Will look more into it but if someone can provide details it would be much appreciated.

Regards

Duke
