Goddamn garage is too hot again, machine locked.  Have to drive across town again to air that shit out and reboot the machine(s).

It's saying something that I'm too lazy to develop a remote switching setup and put in proper fans, making it so I have to drive across town every other day.

Oh God stop reminding me about 2012 and 1/2 of 2013.  I can't count the number of times I drove to the sketchy area where my wife's office is to reset some miners.  I wouldn't go for 1 or 2, but sometimes the router would lock up, the DNS doesn't get updated due to crappy ISP, the power goes out, something trips.  So happy to be out of mining.

Couldn't you just set up some kind of switch that turned the miners or router off and then on again when they're not connected to the internet anymore or if it stops receiving "OK" messages from your machine at home for example?

I guess the Life as a Bitcoin miner is pretty hard! You have to keep up with the latest news on all of the ASIC manufacturers. Make sure, they are legit and not only scamming you. Then you have to take care of your miners, make sure they run smoothly. Pay all the bills. Keep track of the BTC price. Also, not all wifes are that understanding for such an hobby. I do appreciate mining, though! It gets the house warm!

As a miner I can tell that It's not really profitable to mine now, you can make profit but not the one that would satisfy you, so i'll just switch to hold BTC

Isn't it the same grind every goddamn day? Waking up, grab something to eat, head down in the mines. Work in the scorching heat, sweat dripping down your face. Finding barely enough Bitcoin to pay the rent, and go home every evening just to go to bed - alone.
This is not at all what it is like. You are an idiot. (probably just trying to post his post count)

Hey, I'm a true mining pumpkin, after all! At least I am writing creative content. You're just here calling people idiots Smiley Not good for your Karma!

Actually my friend had a rather good tip for me when I was thinking about going into Bitcoin mining and that is to never have your mining setup up stairs as heat rises and it would be cooler for you to keep them at the lowest level possible he said he used to exceed 70+ temperatures and sometimes had them failing on them until he eventually stored them in his garage. I guess not a lot of people think about where to store them I don't think he had any good fans installed on them though.

No matter how much you plan and prepare, Comcast will ALWAYS find a way to screw with your internet service during a move.

No net for 3 days due to incompetent techs! UGH
