I think, you need to get friends when you go to work abroad. It will be difficult to live on your own

Life abroad is never for the faint heart. You’ll be out of your comfort zone — out of the familiar, safe place you’re used to. There are times that you will just cry for no apparent reason. You’ll get frustrated a lot of times. You’ll even start giving up on yourself. And you’ll start questioning if you’ve really made the right decision. What thoughts can you share about living away from your family and work abroad?

It's hardest when you go first time. The first month of tears and thoughts about how my relatives are there, how I missed you and can find a job at home. But then when there are work-outs and do not get drunk, you do not have to think about time, only about what would not have been worthless to squander, and to earn more. and still warm thoughts of home

life working abroad is not as easy as abc. you will need to battle the struggles to be away from your family, to adjust to the peole around you, adjust to the weather and most especially, the food. i salute those people who has been working abroad before social media was present. the struggle to get in touch with love ones was real. now, contacting everybody is very easy, it eases the longing to you and your family.

A lot of people go abroad to work, breaking out of the boundaries of the familiar world where everything is familiar and so dear to your heart, far from your relatives you really understand how many relatives and friends they are to you, a new society is not always open to you ... but there are always at home people who love you just like that and give no false smiles. circumstances force us to earn away from home, so that at home everyone is happy and nourished. Keep the gopod such families.

It`s a good experience and i would like to try it. Basically, the best solution is working at the laptop and travelling in other countries, so that you aren`t attached to one place.

I've known people working abroad and they always tell me that, if ever i have plans on working abroad, do it when you are young and single. They say that being away from their husbands, wives and most especially children really sucks. You miss most important events like birthdays, a few Christmases and the like. You won't be there for heartbreaks, sicknesses, and death. All you could do is send them money and a videos chat if both of you are available.

For me it's a matter of perspective and why you do it. I've spent a few years abroad. It was hard right off the bat. But as you go on, you adjust, you adapt and then you thrive. I guess what helped me adapt is to keep a certain part of home alive in your place. Rituals, activities and such could help alot. Mine is cooking delicacies and comfort food from home. After that, if like myself you live alone, you get into a hobby or any self improving activity. Once that happens it would really be a piece of cake working abroad.

Life working abroad is difficult. Especially if you are very close to your family. It is hard to work abroad knowing no one to rely on. Having language barrier and culture shock. Adjustment is necessary

People go abroad not just for themselves but to improve their living standard to a level where they are comfortable that their future generations will reap the rewards and will not have to face the same difficulties that they are facing now. One generation has to sacrifice and take the leap of faith once in a while to keep the family name in good hands and make a comfortable and happy life with multiple opportunities for its future generations. It is easy to think that these people are selfish, but well who isn't. The poverty in some developing countries is so much that it is out of imagination for most of the westerners. Everyone wants to just chill and relax but to achieve that someone has to sacrifice their life to provide to the family Smiley Smiley

Im Filipino, many Filipino people work abroad because higher salary than to my country.
He/she sacrifice to work abroad for having good life for the family. Embarrassed

I wouldn't claim that expat workers are "sacrificing" something. They are doing over-seas jobs for the betterment of their own families. It is not like they are working for charity. And I know a lot of expat workers who commit crimes (both white collar and blue collar) in the countries they work.

Life working abroad probably not easy as somebody thinks. Far away from your love ones keeping yourself safe at all times.  Some of OFW or those who work abroad are lucky, having good boss, working comfortable, safety working area.  But all of them are lucky enough,  some are being rape and some are being accuse then having a penalty. Life in working abroad, i think is probably not easy.

Im not working abroad, Im just away from my family for my work. Well I know it is way different from working outside my country, but let me share our situation from my point of view of aKid whose parents are working abroad.

It was sad not having the around especially on your normal days like no one will ask if hows your tiring day. Or will do a laundry for you. All you can do is video call with they cant give a hug if youre upset. Thats sad but thinking of the positive reasons why you should be away for now is you stronghold to move forward and push yourself to grow.

Here in phillippines, many people go to abroad.Because of the salary is higher than here.Because they want to give there family a better life. They sacrifice themselves enable to give a better future for their loved ones especially for those who have kids to enable to give a brighter future for there children.I know that is there goal why they go abroad and to fullfill there dreams. Its not easy to work abroad that is far away from there family, long distance relationship. The homesick that they feel but whatever the pain they feel inside they are still happy bec.they feel enlighten when they see there family has a better life.
