Does anyone see a trend here?

Some of the first bitcoin ASICs were 333MH (bfl doesn't count) and were sold at $100.  10 months later and they now are not even worth $1.
Then along came the 5GH block erupter blade and were sold for $500-$600.  8 months later and they are barely worth $20.

The prices for these scrypt asics are way too high.  At best these would ROI by the time Titans come out.  That is if we are lucky and things stay the same.  If we go by history profitability has been declining 100% every month since December.  If and only IF we are so lucky for things to stay the same, by the time that 6 months is up they will be useless and all that time/effort would have been for nothing.

To be honest I don't know if I'd even pay the $1200 I quoted earlier.  $1000 each and that's a maybe.

This is not to say your products are not good, they are indeed spectacular and 6 months ago I would have happily paid the full $3000 price tag for each unit.  Actually I probably would have paid 4-5k for each.

And when you think about it, it's basically a heatsink enclosure with 2 circuit boards.  I bet it doesn't even cost more than a few hundred bucks to produce.  There is no need to assrape the public with these outrageous prices.

Group Buy.
i got great deal with Gridseed. GROUP BUY now:
3000+ usb miner, 1350/LA3M, include all accessories, Including DHL worldwide express.
500+blade,  usd1999, include all accessories, including Worldwide express.

I still think that is too expensive for the market right now. Try again and I would seriously consider it.

Assuming difficulty remains constant, which it won't, the blade will earn about $12/day at today's rates.
That's puts ROI out 5-6 months when better asics will be shipping.
thats the best price now. you can compare with other seller.

AsiaBTC has been at a much higher price point than other sellers so that shouldn't surprise you. I'm curious what other resellers do, I wouldn't be surprised if no one is allowed to sell under a certain price for the first 1-2 months.
my price is allways reasonable.
and for usb miner, blade. my price will be allways lowest.

All other sellers are at $3K, so actually asiabtc is the cheapest at the moment with $2900. Also for the 5 chip miners I don't really agree with you. Many other seller are cheaper, but do not include accessories. The power supplies, USB cable, controller etc add up to something. I got a quote from him which came down to $175 per miner with just power and USB cables included in the last week of march. This actually isn't bad at all compared to other sellers.

He is following the gradually lower rates of others. He is in no way cheap. Like I said, I assume once a certain period is over they can go down with their rates.

I'd say more like 1200 bucks, tops.  That thing makes $12-$15 avg usd gross per day and those figures are likely to keep declining every week.

Sell them around that price and I'd buy a few.  Otherwise, no.

What few Scrypt asics are already out combined with huge multipools dumping all coins at bid price has already destroyed alt coin profitability significantly in just the past few months.

Is there any power, busy or status lights on these units, did not notice on the photos.

They are so overpriced maybe you can get some money back on scraping the aluminum in all that heatsink.

16 Gridseed 5 chip units are cheaper.

These are viable at $1700 each

Thats the price gridseed sells them... i guess we can call them greedseeds now

Seriously? Good to know. They were taking some major profits on the 5 chip miners, but I expected them to take smaller margins on this one.

Anyway, I would be buying one at around $2K, I am not interested at the current price.

Agreed... I think thats a perfect price point! I mean jeez 300 bucks of profit on each unit, is pretty darn good!

LIGHTNINGASIC GRIDSEED SCRYPT ONLY BLADE MINER

There are 2 PCBA.
Each PCBA 40 GC3355 chips.
Each PCBA has it’s own power socket and usb port.
one 80-chip blade miner is equivalent to 16 5-chip USB miners
Official Scrypt hashrate is 5.2M (2.6M on each PCBA)
Scrypt only mode: 64-70W on each PCBA. (140W per miner)
PSU/Controller/USB cables are included.
Start to ship out from Apl 11th-12nd.
USD2899 for miners, usd100 for accessories set, USD100 for dhl express.

Unit looks nice, basic but functional, heat sink does look huge with fan airflow for that
wattage? Does this work at the same stock clock freq as the round miners?

If they are running at the stock freq then you might be able to up it a bit along with any
possible hardware voltage mod to get 6.4Mhs out of each unit if its designe is simular
to the other miners?

Hey, first to the marketplace makes all the money, put 6 boards in a rack mount case
and you should get 15.6Mhs min at around 420watts.

They do look like very nice boards.

I think the heatsinks are a bit oversized for the actual effect though..?

no they are done like that so the airflow to have plenty of room to cool down the chips

That wasnt what i was saying really. Im saying, its bigger than actually needed.

Its not like these units are mad good at overclocking.. im sure if you pushed 250w through it, those kind of heatsinks would be needed, but at 140w, and according to the review i'v read of this unit, its not capable of overclocking a lot (might change if you change some components though) .. so doubt they are needed in the end.
