Decentralized altcoins, which were fairly launched (without or with a very small premine covering only the development cost) are currently stagnant a bit. The most prominent examples are Monero, Dogecoin and Litecoin.

I think this is not only because of the marketing of these coins which lacks a bit (because they don't have dedicated marketing funds and largely depend on donations), but for two reasons:

1) there are some very demanded asset types like stablecoins which are currently only available on semi-centralized chains like Ethereum,
2) each of these coins "fights for themselves", i.e. trying to compete with the other altcoins, instead of trying to search for synergies.

It's these synergies which could be improved if we had a better ecosystem of the following services:

- exchanges allowing direct conversion between decentralized altcoins. There are of course a lot of services allowing BTC/LTC and BTC/XMR, but only relatively few allowing LTC/XMR or XMR/Doge.
- stablecoins on decentralized chains. Bitcoin has lost Tether, and thus now probably all trustable stablecoins are on semi-centralized chains.
- decentralized coins with turing complete smart contracts, allowing DeFi apps. There are very few of them, perhaps the most well-known is Signum (ex: Burst) due to its past, but the current price and adoption is ridiculously low, and it has also the problem that it doesn't use the well-known EVM/Solidity frameworks. Others, like Ellaism seem to be defunct.

The purpose of this thread is to collect services and projects of these kinds which already exist and which are in the project stage. Perhaps more awareness for a combined ecosystem of the users of decentralized altcoins can incentive more services to open in the futures, or more decentralized coin projects working on DeFi solutions.

Feel free to post about any kind of service or coin related to the three points I gave, which is available for or operating on an non-premined chain (see this list for examples). Also, if you think the ecosystem needs other kinds of services I can add new categories for this list.

Exchanges allowing direct conversions

(ranked according to https://kycnot.me score)

- Exch (XMR, LTC, Dash, BCH)
- MajesticBank (XMR, LTC, Dash)
- Coinswap (Doge, XMR, LTC, Dash; some KYC possible)
- Xchange.me (XMR, LTC, Dash; some KYC possible)
- WizardSwap (LTC, XMR; ranked lower and linked to KYCnotMe subpage because the website is now marked as phishing but I have used it in the very recent past, do your own research!)

DEX allowing direct conversions

- BasicSwapDex (beta, XMR, LTC, Doge, Dash and others)
- Haveno (project stage/beta, main currency XMR, also LTC and BCH)

Stablecoins on decentralized chains

- currently none to my knowledge.

Cryptos with turing complete smart contracts

- Signum
- Ellaism (Ethereum fork, probably defunct)
