Even non-bitcoiners don't trust governments, intelligence agencies and politicians, so what's the point of this thread? People also generally don't trust bankers, and a lot of cryptocurrency enthusiasts don't trust exchanges, but today's reality is that we have to live under the shadow of governments, we have to use banks, we have to vote and so on. Going off the grid is impossible for most people, revolution is extremely unlikely to happen, so slow change remains our best bet for making our society better.

i say when you cannot figure something yourself you need to relay on somebody like vitalik the founder of ethereum,

which mean even if billion people say to me this project is great and not scam and have hype(this is how the web dominated by scams) and vitalil say to me stay away ,i stand with him with closed my.

but it very rare to find people like vitalik

You shouldn't be trusting anyone who is not yourself. That's kind of the point of the whole thing is it not?

I know it's a lot less convenient than letting someone else do it for you but perhaps everyone should pause briefly and ponder who they are trusting at present in their Bitcoininess. You might be balls deep in exchanges, SPV wallets, hardware wallets pushing updates you don't bother to check and more.

I like the idea of the proof of keys day or whatever it was. Perhaps there should be a trust audit day as well.

People are offering to ass Jp Morgan (even though it's not a person) and McAfee. Honestly, clicking on the thread I also expected that kind of list of people. I would also add Craig Wright and Warren Buffett. But I agree with Lucius that it's unclear why the whole list of Member States of the UN is included. After all, each country has some supporters and some opposers, and not all of the leaders from these countries even made up their mind about Bitcoin. When it comes to trust and Bitcoin, though, I think we should not trust anyone in a sense that no reasonable predictions about what Bitcoin will be and how much will it cost can be made, no matter how bad or nice a certain person making these predictions is.

I find Craig Wright and Roger Ver (and of course their minions) to belong at the very top of lists of entities to not trust. I'm more concerned about them than a government trying to protect its own incentives.

And below them, with a massive gap in between, we have con artists such as John McAfee. This dude is so unstable that he will betray the hand that fed him for so long just because of a change in his mood. Steer clear of him.

You should add McAfee too. He's full of bs.😂
Anyway, Bitcoin is threatening their state by promotion of decentralization. So I always expect that someone will stand against it. We also knew that some people who stand against it are caught getting handful of Bitcoin. How ironic? Capitalism at it's finest. SMH

Well, that's actually all of the UN members states, but why should we trust or not to them when it comes to bitcoin? I have no positive opinion about UN, but I see Malta, Germany, Slovenia, Belarus as very friendly states toward cryptocurrency in general.

Fact that some country official twitter account (or President / Prime Minister)  is follow some Donald or Hillary does not mean anything. I think many members of crypto community follow same people, just because they want to read something fun from time to time, and Trump tweets are sometimes very fun ( I am not follow him).

Leave no FUD unchallenged
Should we not just simplify the list and name a single entry of:

  • the sham we currently pretend is government?

We'll be here all year listing all the different government bodies, politicians and so-called intelligence agencies.

You should add your list JP Morgan too. He said Bitcoin was a Fraud. Later, it turned out that the investment firm owned by him bought some Bitcoin.
