I noticed that in 2021 and I was wondering what makes it that popular? I always had a feeling that its developers and insiders did something to boost it like this. Imagine people bought YFI at 70K or 80K and compare their current position.
YFI actually got to $90k+ and it was the activities of buyers that got it there. So, yes people bought it at $90k+, not just at $80k. FOMO must've caused it that investors rushed and bought that high. It's the same thing that's happening with some coins now. We never can tell when a coin/token will hit its ATH and then we're caught buying the top.

Quote
I usually check the ATH of a coin before I buy it, I expect a coin to beat its previous ATH after each four or five years. But, that is not always going to happen for some coins and YFI is one of them. Look at a very popular coin Litecoin. Its ATH was $350 and now it's around a hundred dollars while Bitcoin breaks it's ATH a couple of times in the last few months.
Seriously, I doubt too if YFI will even get back to half of its ATH price. As for Litecoin, I believe it can still surpass its last circle ATH once alts season sets in.

Look at what happened with Yearn Finance (YFI) in 2021 when it got to as high as over $90,000 per token and its current price now that has dipped massively.

But I remembered this one because someone was shilling it to me saying it's going to be bigger than bitcoin in a few years.
I don't know if it's just me. I've come to discover that I easily switch off whenever someone tells me a coin/token is going to be bigger than Bitcoin. It's the audacity for me because I know it can't be sustainable. Price can quickly rise higher than Bitcoin but it's momentarily. It's never sustained. I actually came across the PENGU project on the day it was listed on Binance. They indeed had an airdrop to reward EVM and Solana users with project tokens through their activities. This is one of the easiest projects that didn’t impose complex requirements to qualify for the airdrop. Additionally, the airdrop claim page will remain open from its launch for up to 88 days, if I’m not mistaken.

I checked their airdrop page by connecting my ETH and Solana wallet. The page says that I have already collected the PENGU or that I do not have PENGU, which means I am not eligible for the airdrop. Were you able to claim any PENGU from the airdrop? I am not too interested, but free money is always sweet. LOL.

I have heard of PENGU and remembered the name, which is unusual when it comes to me because I rarely remember a new coin, especially if it's a meme token. But I remembered this one because someone was shilling it to me saying it's going to be bigger than bitcoin in a few years. I couldn't help but laugh at that claim. It's worth mentioning that the value did explode, and the token is up over 600% since its listing. Let's see how long that will take.
Bigger than Bitcoin? Oh, man! There are a lot of Shitcoins that previously claimed they will be bigger than Bitcoin. Everyone knows that is never going to happen. It is just those shills trying to impress crypto newbies.

There is a new token launched on 18th December named Pudgy Penguins (PENGU) and listed on coinmarketcap https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/pudgy-penguins/ . Some Top-level centralized exchanges like Binance, Bitget, Kucoin, OKX and Bybit listed them on the same day. Their official website is https://www.pudgypenguins.com/, and their official airdrop page is this one: https://claim.pudgypenguins.com/.

However, scammers are faster at creating phishing websites to drain your wallet.

Based on this, scammers exploited this and the hype surrounding this meme coin to create phishing links to steal wallets from people searching for free tokens. The good news is that MetaMask has flagged this site. Thank you for alerting airdrop hunters about this matter!

I found out about this token quite by accident, now that I see this phishing site you mention, I would rather think it's just another one in a series of new shittokens. Meme tokens with their "funny" names make it difficult to discern which ones might transition into a "serious" token.

I found it from the coinmarketcap when I was checking my portfolio and which coins have been pumping lately. A few days ago, the entire market crashed, with some exceptions. I was holding some BGB (a token by Bitget), which was pumping a lot. Then I was checking what other coins were pumping; I found that PENGU was another one that was pumping a lot. I did not checked their project, but yesterday I noticed a phishing website.

Here is another NFT Phishing scam I found this morning;

I'm sorry I haven't updated this thread for a while now. Since I wasn't actively looking for scam websites, I didn't find many of them.

I found a scam casino, which is
Code:
https://bybitbet.com
, That was exposed here; New Bybitbet casino shillers/spammers report reference thread

Here are a few more that I found recently;

Code:
https://mefuw.com (probably phishing too)
https://mawfi.com (probably phishing too)
https://tonrewards.xyz (probably phishing too)
https://Claim.Shifu-token.one (probably phishing too)
https://airdrop.atlasaitech.org (probably phishing too)

Almost over a year down the road and the scam Iceriver.eu website is still online. Not only that, when you enter iceriver in the Google search Engine, the top results that appear are of scam sites and not the genuine site

Whoever is behind the domains knows a thing or two about SEO even more than the owners of Iceriver.

@wwzsocki has already made a thread back in 2019 [there might be others as well]: Punycode and how to protect yourself from Homograph Phishing attacks?
- If you can provide additional stuff, go ahead Smiley
Thanks for the link. I had a look already, but I did not read the full thread as it's too long. But I am going to bookmark this so I can read it later. About additional details, I guess Wwzsocki already explained very well and did not need further explanation from people like me. I had no idea what Punycode is, while wwzsocki already created a long thread about it.

BTW, I think I've found one of their backups, but not sure if you need to include it in the opening post or not [it appears to be incomplete]: exotic420shop.com [Creation Date: 2023-05-04]
It won't take much time to add it in the OP. So, I will add it right after posting this.

This is something interesting. Thank you, SFR10, for mentioning this.
You're very welcome Smiley

SFR10, I believe this needs a topic in the Beginner and help section. This could a nice guide.

@JeromeTash also mentioned one of their fake websites in post #3.
I have added it to the OP as well. Thanks, JeromeTash!

I completely agree but unfortunately, these scammers can still go a step further than that by applying Punycode/homograph attacks on ICERIVER [that'd be the tricky part].
This is something interesting. Thank you, SFR10, for mentioning this. I had never heard about it, and I had never known something like this existed. I didn't pay attention at first, but then I decided to search what Punycode/homograph is and got the answer. In case someone else doesn't know what it is,

So, Punycode is a neutral technology designed to represent non-ASCII characters in domain names, while a homograph attack is a malicious activity that exploits the visuPunycode'sities between characters of different scripts, often taking advantage of Punycode’s ability to render internationalized domain names.

SFR10, I believe this needs a topic in the Beginner and help section. This could a nice guide.

The riskiest domain is the last one with an extra s. This is the only difference between the real and original domains. Most of the people do not notice such things. The design of the website is similar as well. So, it won't be an easy job for an average person to find the difference.

Just noticed one of these scammers created an account on this forum to promote their fake store:

@Learn Bitcoin
Please add the following websites to the opening post as well:

A daily update is not necessary, it would then be at the level of a regular job. Once per week or even a month is enough.
It will be like someone fighting with closed eyes. Anti-virus programs have lists of scam sites, but they need to be updated on an almost daily basis because those scam sites create hundreds of these sites daily. Updating them every week or every month means that this list will always be out of date.
But I agree with you that if it saves money for at least one user, it is a successful result.

Of course, it's useful. If your list saves money for at least one user, it is a successful result. Even if a scam service stops working, you have left a warning on a specific domain. At some point, someone might want to buy such a domain for regular business, but there are still references that the domain is "dirty".
That motivated me to post these scam website links here. As I said in my other posts, I never actively look for scam websites. I found that I was genuinely interested in checking the original website, and I found them from a google search.

OP, maybe you should formulate the thread name differently. "List Of Scam websites by Learn Bitcoin" can be interpreted as if this is a list of your fraud sites, where you are their owner. I would rather write something like "List Of Scam websites exposed by Learn Bitcoin".
Thank you, dear. I changed the title. That happened because I am not a native speaker which is why sometimes I make these mistakes. I have seen someone posted in a service thread that he had a terrible experience while he was in a signature campaign. That was because he wasn't a native English speaker.

The original website of Iceriver is https://www.iceriver.io/.
Here's another fake version of it: IceRiver.in [Creation Date: 2023-07-11]

Can anyone suggest me a good format to combine them?
You can try the following format, but it's worth noting that in comparison to having a separate topic for each website, any time a complete noob stumbles upon your thread when they're searching for a certain website on Google, they'd probably have a harder time connecting the dots in order to see how things develop as time goes on.

e.g.

.Original website + Creation date.
