the https://testnet-faucet.com has been working for me regularly consistently but i cant get https://testnet-faucet.mempool.co this one to work which maybe it is due to my anti-virus system or vpn but it hasnt worked for me.

Were you able to see if your entry was received? there should be some sort of success message. If so, how long have you waited? I see contact information on their website, you can try sending them a message about it if you think you've waited long enough.

or do you mean you can't access the website? it works fine on my end.

(some scrolling might be necessary to find it but shouldnt be too hard to find it)

With testnet BTC, you can try different things but you have to remember that testnet BTC can never be sold to anyone. It has no monetary value at all. I have made this list of available testnet faucets so that some users may get help.
1. https://testnet-faucet.mempool.co
2. https://tpfaucet.appspot.com (Not working)
3. https://coinfaucet.eu/btc-testnet
4. https://tbtc.bitaps.com
5. http://kuttler.eu/bitcoin/btc/faucet/
6. http://bitcoinfaucet.uo1.net/
I will update this list if I get more. Share me more btc testnet faucet please.

Always give back the testnet BTC, let help others. Testnet BTC has no monetary value.

Hello @Little Mouse . I was gonna create a thread for consolidated list of testnet bitcoin faucets just when I found this thread.
I have done some research and found some testnet bitcoin faucets and verified the exiting ones if they are working correctly.
Since your thread is not so old I think it would be better if we just merge our content instead of me creating another thread with same info.
You can update OP with the below information as it will help people who are in need of tBTC.

Working :

https://testnet-faucet.mempool.co/
https://tbtc.mocacinno.com/
https://testnet.help/en/btcfaucet/testnet
https://coinfaucet.eu/btc-testnet
http://kuttler.eu/bitcoin/btc/faucet/
http://bitcoinfaucet.uo1.net/
https://onchain.io/

Not Working :

https://www.blockstack.org/testnet/faucet
https://testnet-faucet.com
https://testnet.qc.to/
https://tbtc.bitaps.com
https://testnet.manu.backend.hamburg/faucet
http://ww7.xeno-genesis.com/?z

I have posted the non-working testnet faucets too. Let us know just in case if any of the non-working faucets works for anybody else.

2. a lot of coins are burnt, i've burnt at least 2 tbtc so far by sending it to bad scripts when i was testing stuff.

Of course. This one makes a lot of sense. These coins are designed to be thrown around and abused. It does make me wonder how many ideas have been inhibited by the inability to get hold of them, but of course there'll be a lot of clueless people happy to burn through tons of them in pursuit of dead end ideas.

Bit of a tricky one to balance really.

Can anyone enlighten me as to why test coins are so hard to come by? There should be millions of them flying gaily around. Is everyone secretly hoping they'll be worth something some day?

it is a possibility but i think there are mainly 3 reasons for the scarcity of testnet coins:
1. developers who use them to test, throw away the keys afterwards without bothering to send the coins back to faucets or give it to others. so practically these coins are brunt.
2. a lot of coins are burnt, i've burnt at least 2 tbtc so far by sending it to bad scripts when i was testing stuff.
3. scammers who have been accumulating tbtc and selling it to some newbies who may fall for it. although this one is very rare since nowadays testnet wallets give a big ass warning to the user that it is worthless.

Yes, I need more BTC testnet, and from that faucet provider (https://testnet-faucet.mempool.co/), which gets the large amount in one claim. BTW, I tried it again today, and it works smoothly. It takes a lot time to collect from several faucets with a small claim value, so I try discuss this.

why waste so much time on one faucet when all you need is a single successful claim of any amount of testnet coins? if one faucet doesn't work just use the next and get on with your "testing"!
and like always if you feel you need more coins then you are doing something wrong and must rethink or "tests". and there is also always regtest that can and should be used instead of testnet in some particular cases.

And for https://testnet-faucet.mempool.co/, that is once an hour, and I try always error and ends whith Error: limits exceeded notification, even I last used it more than 2 hours ago and always enter captcha correctly.
Maybe there's too many people that use their services so it always so that error. Maybe you could have a better chance if you request it exactly at the time they reset the wd limits, but I don't think it is worth the effort.

And I found this https://www.blockstack.org/testnet/faucet, but I haven't tracked it down further, because there are no transaction details there.

--snip--
I do know that a month or 2 ago he was offering to "lend" people larger amounts of tBTC if they gave him collateral that would enable him to buy hashing power to re-mine the loaned tBTC if they didn't return the tBTC when they were finished with it:
--snip--

That offer is just as valid today as it was a couple months ago Smiley

Basically, if you're somebody i know and trust i'll lend you as much tBTC as you'd need (within reasonable limits) without collateral or interest. If i don't know you and you have a legit usecase for the tBTC i'll lend you as much as you'd need without interest but i still require enough real BTC as collateral to re-mine the tBTC in case you'd default PLUS something extra to give you an incentive to return the tBTC instead of using me as an easy way to have somebody mining tBTC for you. If you don't default you'd get the collateral back (minus transaction and escrow fees).

I haven't looked at the testnet diff in a couple of weeks, but the block reward did halve, so if you're interested in loaning tBTC as a newbie/junior member, i'll have to re-calculate the required collateral.

I know some have criticized me for asking collateral, but if i'd lend out tBTC to newbies without asking any collateral, i'd end up with an empty tBTC wallet and i could just shut down my faucet altogether. tBTC is worthless, but that doesn't mean it's free to mine, so if i loan out tBTC and you default, i need some real BTC to mine tBTC to replenish my faucet's wallet...

I need at least 1.32 tBTC for testing. Anyone kind enough to lend me some? Cheers.
Try and reach out to mocacinno... he has a faucet thread setup here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/testnet-faucet-5223320

I do know that a month or 2 ago he was offering to "lend" people larger amounts of tBTC if they gave him collateral that would enable him to buy hashing power to re-mine the loaned tBTC if they didn't return the tBTC when they were finished with it:
What would you need 50 testnet coins for, that 0.50 or 0.05, or 0.005 will not suffice? I don't have that much either, but you can always get from the many faucets a small amount. It's for testing, the amount should not matter.

But I'd like to also know if there are any other ways of acquiring such amount of testnet coins other than mining them.

Nope, you either run in regtest mode, or you mine tBTC...

Sometimes 0.5 tBTC does not suffice, for example: if you're designing a mixer... You'll need a lot of tBTC in order to do a proper taint analysis.

@OP: I run a faucet: https://tbtc.mocacinno.com and i've given tBTC as a loan in the past. I have > 50 tBTC (but most are on my hardware wallet at home, so i can't access them for another 3 hours)
However : since you're a newbie, i would require sufficient collateral for such a loan. The collateral should be sufficient to rent hashrate from miningrigrentals and mine >50 tBTC in case your run off.
To tell you the truth, the diff on the testnet is still very high and the block reward is ~0.39 tBTC, so i'm afraid it'll be a lot of collateral to loan 50 tBTC.

IF you're interested: i'm willing to use a trusted forum escrow to hold the collateral, no intrest, but ALL fees are payed by you (including the fees to transfer the collateral to me or the escrow, and the fees to transfer the collateral back to you). Please do not PM me, but post anything on this very thread... I don't like to hide in PM's, telegram, mails,...

Huh Huh is testnet btc is just for the developing any projects or is it for those who are new to the bitcoin blockchain and trying to send btc by using the segwit.
Not only testing segwit but also to test sending funds to multiple people with one transaction. Who don't care or fear when doing mutliple-in-one transaction for the first time? You can lose money if doing something wrong. Testnet can help you to practice it.

Although , i have experience about the ethereum testnet . But i don't have the clear knowledge of btc testnet or testnet faucet(I know faucet where users will get a little bit of statoshi in return of solving any recaptcha or verifing being human). I will be really thankfull if anyone help me out.
Anything. It's basically a worthless Bitcoin which you can get for free. You can use it to just play around sending from one wallet to the other, test your website, software, wallet, etc... if you want to use it to test BTC, segwit or a wallet software, you can.

It's legit, I've used them before. It might be a technical issue, because looking at their giveback/donation address, you can see that funds are still being sent to other addresses they control:
It is a technical issue I think too. It worked one or two month back for me but it is not working here also. I need to decorate the thread with such information like if it is working or not, how much they give etc.

Anyone managed to get faucet #2 to work? It keeps saying "Bad Repatcha" even though there is no captcha to solve.
It is same here. I thought it works. I just have tried. I am updating the thread.

I don't know if number 1 is legit because I've requested a few times from there before and nothing was sent to my testnet address.
Maybe out of funds that time? Now, it's just "internal server error".
