0.0005 is enough to play around with standard transactions, set up a small lightning channel, test out a new wallet or test standard scripts.
Not anymore. I closed my testnet faucet until I can get testnet 4 coins. Testnet fees make it impossible to use.
I now use Litecoin for testing: a cent is enough to make 100 transactions.

I have no idea what Bitcoin Testnet 0.0005 can do as of today, its really silly ~~

if you are looking for 10 tbtc or more just buy them throw the market.

it cost less then 10$ ~

or you can use testnet 4 ~ and try to mine for them which cost you quite a bit ~

We have a saying in my country that goes something like "You should not look a given horse in it's mouth". It basically means: if you get something for free, you should not complain about it. You either take the free handout, or you don't... 0.0005 is the default claim IF people can't give a decent explanation why they'd need more.

0.0005 is enough to play around with standard transactions, set up a small lightning channel, test out a new wallet or test standard scripts. If you need 1 tBTC to mess up the mempool with runes or inscriptions, you are correct, you should get it somewhere else. I'm not going to give away such sums to learn people how to fill the mempool and force people to pay >20sat/vbyte when they use the network for what is was originally intended.

Why would you need 10 tBTC for a test scenario? 0.01 or maybe 0.1 tBTC should be enough for most cases. And what kind of scenarios can't be done in Regtest or Signet, seriously?

Paying for Testnet Bitcoins is what ruins and kills Testnet. You can't prevent a market for Testnet coins, but it's the stupids who actually engage in such markets and hand over real money or coins.

I actually got more then 10 tbtc, and I spent alot.

you going to need alot of tbtc to use ordianls or runes , some people called it DDos attack using gamfiy way.

once op_cat on testnet 4 come, i am also going to need alot of tbtc ~

if you try inscription of 320kb it cost you around 1tbtc more or less.

so far I have spent around 10tbtc looking to do more stuff !

also unisat model is coming soon which will help make smart contracts like on ordianls, so i am going to try it ~

Meanwhile, Garlo Nicon mined more than 60 tBTC on his CPU: https://mempool.space/testnet/address/tb1qvy67actlsslmvwpjzk9hnx6jf04g5y26sz5crx

Currently, there are less and less ASIC miners, and the real time between blocks in testnet3 is now set to 20 minutes. Sometimes, some ASIC pops out, but it is rare.

Hey there, im a software engineer working in the wallet industry. with my team we are performing many tests on chain and we would love to get some tbtc.
Tried many faucets but they are not working that well

my2yD3GFzq1rkcA7Rnh42V8Pjk8obNkNfj is my address <3

Thanks!!

I usually send 0.0005 (the default value), but i had a 0.001 unspent output, and it was more efficient to just spend the complete unspent output instead of creating some change... That's why you got a tad bit more than the default amount. Fees on testnet are ridiculous at the moment tough.

Sent default amount with tx id 028500b5ac59a0ff731148078a3862e0397e444af60b85ee52b23fcad8d5362c

This is a transaction that was confirmed 2024-01-18 16:10 and I'm pretty sure it didn't fund the address tb1p725a2gdq2pf2f3rcq7825j8ywwv32jljz3vl67w8ve0ud6e3zrqqc0k99n of vipdraigerss.

It has been likely Tx id e1fabddbfd28d38b9fa12120cf851efb321c734e92dce65139f0b3dae8e4eb71 or Tx id 9b806321e3ffc1e10e8d6f9264d8f31383fa253bb16a424da388fef039b80273?

It's possible i copyd the wrong transaction id... I did send the default amount tough.
