seams some people were looking at this thread and realised something, coz last night LTC/USD had peeks of 0,10$/LTC and difficulty is starting to rise in an unusual rate Smiley

but I have much more trust in BTC then LTC... It's true that LTC can buy anything that BTC can, but the conversion rate is pretty low right now...
Everyone has his own choice, if you like to mine and sell ltc, good for you.
But judging from price action lately , a lot of people are doing the opposite, precisely for the same reason -- ltc /btc conversion rate is too low.

The way i see it, if the "nature" rate between gold and silver is 1:4, but now it's like 1:200, I'd be happy to give you my gold and take your silver off your hands

Yeah, well, it's not much else than hosting and gambling... I mean I'm all for LTC and I have several machines that mine LTC. It just seems too much of "currency only for mining" to me. I hope that LTC will keep on growing and have more services related to it and more use. Now it's not much...

That's true. but OTOH I still see people on other threads complaining there'e not much to buy with Bitcoin ....

As a community currency, main benefits Bitcoin offers include its global reach, speed, low transaction cost, and immunity from arbitrary monetary inflation. Litecoin has every attributes Bitcoin offers.

For a alt-chain currency to survive, it needs to pass two tests: achieving a "safe" network hashing rate, and establishing a "core" user group. With every day goes by, confidence in LTC increases.

As long as the BTC/LTC and LTC/USD convertibility is there, a more relevant, glass-half-full fact is: Litecoin can buy every goods/service offered in the Bitcoin world.

Well, as far as I am concerned for the time being, I will mine couple hundred LTC and convert the rest to BTC. I hope that LTC will achieve a lot in the future, but I have much more trust in BTC then LTC... It's true that LTC can buy anything that BTC can, but the conversion rate is pretty low right now...

sorry for quite unrelated post, but, as a GPU miner, I wonder if mining some LTC to hoard for the future could be a nice move..

Is btc-e.com a good reference, is there other trading service ?

any bitcoinWatch equivalent for LTC ?

PM me please

It's a gamble either way, but I suspect LTC price will rise. Depends on your mining costs I guess

Yeah, I expect a lot of bitcoin miners to move to litecoin with their GPU's, at least until they sell off the equipment. It won't happen immediately after ASIC's, but it'll happen soon after they come.

yeah, they will, the problem is that there's nothing much to buy for LTC, so the price will probably not go up and mining will become unprofitable for anyone without "free" electricity
try harder.

I'm selling Silver Eagle coins. Seems like people are hoarding LTC given I have 57 eagles for sale for LTC and only like 2 people actually committed through PM for small purchases.

So having goods to buy or services isn't necessarily the issue. The problem is people are just greedy lol and want to hoard their LTC (it appears at the current time).

that's great, I love things like these. If I had 750 LTC, i'd go for it (I'm also not in USA so it could be hassle to send them...) maybe when I mine more I will grab your offer, keep up the good work!

Thanks
