Honestly I am not excited. I know it will be another altcoin, that will (probably) declared the crypto that is better than Litecoin, faster that it is and more profitable. Here you can get the information you need:

No, i'm not excited. Your "fork" is just changing the code without any innovations, f.e. faster transactions or so on. May be you can explain the main aim of your innovations?

This might pump up Litecoin price same as happened to Bitcoin, depends on how serious the fork is.

I did not know that now they will fork LTC. I have no litecoins so is it a good time you think to buy one or two and hold them in order to receive some free coins from the fork? Does anyone have a list of exchanges at least that will participate in this fork? I would be interested if Bittrex, Binance or Kucoin will activate accounts for us if they are going to gift us the airdropped coin from the fork. I will try to do some research on this matter myself also. I have never had a big interest in LTC or any of the Bitcoin forked coins but I may check this one out soon.

It will be interesting to see what happens when it gets slammed with hash at the start. Got to be one of the stupidest things I've seen.

I'm not excited at all. I read what Charlie lee had tweeted on his twitter account He is not going to support the fork who ever will do this thing i think this is just a  nonsense coin or shit coin.

have the forkers already run out of bitcoiners to hoodwink?

i can understand a fork that returns a coin to gpu mining. i don't understand one that heads to sha256. if it actually gets anywhere there's so much real mining power that's only slightly obsolete that the little guy this is trying to entice will be squashed flat in seconds.

let's have some bcash forks. that's one set of forks i can get behind. the more confusion and exploitation in that area the better as far as i'm concerned.

Certainly looks like a money grab to me.  Fork a coin, a bunch of people buy it right off the bat, owners take profits, then it plummets.

This is not a fork of Litecoin and has not even inform the dev of litecoin to have a healthy discussion. In my opinion this is a shitcoin that tries to make a quick money and leave after accumulating some bitcoin. This kind of strategy is so old and experience investors will not get bait on this scheme.

Absolutely useless scamcoin, I totly agree with Charlie Lee. It is even worse than bitcoin cash. The second one at least had a starting point to start advertising this shit (lower fees, faster tx) but Litecoin already have all those features and devs actively develop the payment system. All attempts to establish LTC forks are just attempts to scam some naive users by using reputable name.

Without proper research made into this, I am always very careful with the Bitcoin sock puppet, called Charlie Lee. This may serve some purpose Blockstream have in their battle against Bitcoin Cash and everyone else, who try to stop them from pocketing huge amounts of money for themselves.

Buy, sell and store real cryptocurrencies
Wow. Easy money right? How many people will really read what Charliee said here?

This has nothing to do with Litecoin and since these guys are easily using a brand already very well established, it shows their greed to grab quick bucks. If they truly wanted to do something innovative and help the cryptro community, they should have started clean since everything in these two coins is going to be different.

Found this topic and I wonder. I read about Charlie’s tweet and now I see this news about the fork. Seems like forking is a new trend in crypto.

Bitcoin ----> Litecoin. Bitcoin Cash ----> Litecoin Cash. What a couldn't-care-less attitude, they could at least make up another name for this fork. Low trust right from the start Undecided

Why would I be excited for a copy of Litecoin? Changing the supply and algorithm in the source-code isn't that hard, I could do it myself. This hardfork is just sad, like all the others.

Are you excited?  Smiley

No I am not excited. All I see is copying every move of bitcoin and making it look like they have done something special. Now they are simply copying the name of a fork of bitcoin too. Where's the creativity?

For those who are truly excited, my advice is to be wary of pump and dump of this coin.

First impression when I read this topic was "what? why?". To be honest, I do not know why would they fork Litecoin when Litecoin does not face any form of struggles of some sort. And when I read the ANN thread of this, I see it as a great move. Moving to SHA256 is a good move for Litecoin. It's just like he's following what his father is. However, by increasing the total supply by 10 is what that bothers me. Why increase the supply?
