Is the Litecoin dev team ramping up to take on the challenge of a new modern crypto battlefield? If not, why not? Look at how much is at stake. LTC has the resources and I'm sure the talent is there.

What can we expect to see from LTC over the next few months?

We can expect nothing, as they've done nothing the almost 3 years since Litecoin has been out. The "dev team" isnt even active and there are hardly any updates done for Litecoin at all. Litecoin's been pretty much abandoned by the dev team..

Do you think all the devs have sold their LTC stakes? Could that be part of the reason for the abandonment? Lack of incentive?

Why isn't the LTC community banding together to recruit new devs? There is a lot of money at stake here!

I lost some money on LTC and got rid of it . Invested in other currencies and was able to make profit.

Litecoin is like Dogecoin, they both lost more than 80% of their values within a short time period, and have non existent buy support.

I didn't realise that will happen I bought LTC but I got out at right moment and saved my ass Grin

Yea, seems like you got out in the nick of time, Litecoin's been going down an average 3% Daily.

Already down 2% today.

To recap, it was .0017 last week, now it's .0015, 1 month ago it was .0024.

Wdc is a much better alternative.  More marketable as well.

Hmmm, any coin at this point that offers 1 thing over Bitcoin and has a active dev team is better than Litecoin.

What do you guys consider evolving? Fine line between evolving and breaking the trustless system (but that's lost on most panic algo changes in other alts).

Evolving=updating to new circumstances within the environment one's in.

Litecoin has not done that at all, that's why it fell Way behind all other alt coins, lost 80% of its value in a short period, and lacks a active dev team.

Litecoin is familiarity, and people like that. If Litecoin dies, then Bitcoin has to follow. Both have been premium coins, and for every fault you will find with Litecoin, you will find something to chalk on Bitcoin's board.

In truth, both are inferior compared to other altcoins.

Really, only alt-people give a damn about cryptocurrency anyway (of course you will always find an exception to that). And we alt-people treat crypto as a commodity.

Joe Public does not give a shit, he uses Mastercard.

Litecoin has no adoptance, no innovation, and no first mover status(there were many altcoins made before litecoin...)

Litecoin is in no way similar to Bitcoin. It's simply a useless altcoin...much like Dogecoin.

Litecoin innovated by bringing scrypt to the front. It was always silver to bitcoin's gold.
Is it dead? It's dropping in price so in that sense... Maybe. It was created long before the current climate...
But what makes you think it's dead? Everyone knows it and it'll be around - but it needs to continue to evolve.

The thing is, Litecoin has not "evolved" since 2 years. It's tayed the same with no updates from developers. This has made a lack of confidence in the coin and as such, lack of adoption. It's price also fell more than 80% and will continue to fall to nothingness.

You need a lesson in currency (assuming we can call alts currency). It is not about innovation. The Zimbabwean dollar is more innovative than gold. It is about acceptance, Currency is a means to purchase items (or invest). Currency does not become dominant due to innovation of design.

It is about acceptance. And there are no major stores accepting Litecoin..or minor for that matter..

The sad thing, I think, is that only XRP as an alternative to BTC/LTC showed real promise, yet XRP was against everything cryptocurrency was "supposed" to be about.

Thankfully, its team was pathetic at public relations and at developing XRP further. The mixed messages didn't help: "XRP is like a postage stamp, a gateway," to "go trade XRP against USD and BTC.

But expect something like this to be the thing that takes crypto to the masses.

Ripple was funded in part by Google Ventures...too bad they totally destroyed it, with having only 7% of the coin available to the public and 90% of the coin in the hands of one of the owners, who then said tweeted that he'd started selling off his Ripple to move on..

Google Ventures was venturing everywhere. Ripple was destroyed by the horrible attitude of the employees, the mixed signals and the lies (the free XRP didn't really materialise, even to many of those that were entitled to it).

The Joe Katz dude destroyed it for me.
