Litecoin price and volume have been stable for the last 3 months. They have not gone up but they have not gone down either. I think litecoin is going to come back in a big way by the end of this year.

Not 3 but almost 4 months Smiley  LTC/USD pair floats between $ 3.10-3.40 range. Because of its unprecedented stability LTC may be a very good payment option for merchants.

That's a good point! And interestingly, the same thing can be said about Bitcoin itself.

Yep, BTC bulls are also lining up to smash $ 500 resistance!  Wink

I mined litecoin couple months ago and still have some of it in my wallet. I think it is good to start it again since the price looks very stable nowadays. Hunting good server that allowed me to mining litecoin. Mining litecoin looks easier than other alt coins for me.

I hope that the price go up... I´m mining at 100% capacity LTC now  Grin

with his Core 2 Duo cpu
My hash rate is a bit more than 5MH/s, more than a Core 2 Duo hash rate, or... , oh wait, you where talking about your rig?  Cool

i can get 5 MH , but that would be silly to put these GPU's on Litecoin while i can get so much more with ETH, would it be not..
These MH/s are from ASICS, I have other 7MH/s GPU mining ETH

no problemo, but then your ASICS and GPUS suck!!
ohh... don't be jealous please

and I am of the same opinion as many have lost interest in the coin, I have a fairly large supply of LTC Grin
I lost interest in litecoin since August of last year and last I checked it was $2 something so I did not take it too seriously after that. I only have 0.02ltc anyways so not much invested into it.
It is interesting to hear that it is more stable then bitcoin is. I might want to start my faucets again to gain some. Or possibly buy some for safe keeping.

I also have some litecoins. And I'm glad to see someone mentioned litecoin. After some reading here on forum few months ago I bought it and hold it from then. I think ltc will grow, now when drama around eth is over I think people will have more interest in ltc again.
We need to be patient and wait. I have some nice amount already, and I will think about buying more.

litecoin is stable and probably a good investment as a result, but with whats going on with btc, halving etc, is it not smarter to be in btc for the next few months? litecoin will probably rise a little with bitcoin, but then you may as well just have bitcoins...

Historically, when BTC rises, LTC rises just a bit harder because it is the 2nd best known crypto and much cheaper for newcomers to come and buy. Furthermore, during those periods, LTC will be pumped by BTC holders (and later dumped) to increase their BTC holdings Smiley

Great coin because:

  • Capable of four times as many transactions as Bitcoin in a ten minute period. Frankly if payment processors had adopted Litecoin in the past year current Bitcoin block discussions would be irrelevant (and likely the price of both coins higher). Anyone who has watched these discussions understands the immediate advantage of a network with larger transactional capability.
  • Faster confirmation times. The only people who don't think this is important have never spent a single coin or they have patience that the average person does not possess.
  • The faster block time of litecoin reduces the risk of double spending attacks.
  • Anti-spam.
  • Fast well established network. Current Hashrate is 1,643 GH/s. Since scrypt is memory intensive it is known to be approximately 1000 times slower hardware wise in comparison to SHA256. Fair comparison to the Bitcoin network requires multiplying that hashrate by 1000 (1,643 TH/s). The fact is for most of Litecoins history the hashrate has been relatively high and secure. Those comparing it to the Bitcoin network without considering this 1k factor are either being disingenuous or just ignorant of the facts.
  • Continuous development look here at number of releases in past year: https://github.com/litecoin-project/litecoin/releases
  • Upcoming new features and active development look here for whats happening in 2016:
    https://www.reddit.com/r/litecoin/comments/3z2ta1/ama_official_litecoin_developers_and_litecoin/
  • Longevity. Many coins have temporarily eclipsed litecoin as they were marketed for the purpose of increasing the fiat accounts of a small group and emptying the accounts of new users. Unfortunately this has been detrimental to crypto-space in general.
  • Great community.
  • Fully supported by GoCoin a growing payment processor used by thousands of merchants https://www.gocoin.com/
  • Liquidity. You can sell thousands and not crash the market. Maintains value.

And you expect ltc to increase in price ? That can only happen with big pump, this coin doesnt offer anything over other 10000 cryptos except the fact that, just like bitcoin, is controlled by a few chinese miners which is extremely bad.

I think that if litecoin holds stable for the next 3-6 months then a lot of people are going to start to think of litecoin as the real deal. When this happens people will start investing and the price will go up. I remember in 2012 people where saying bitcoin wasnt going anywhere, it held steady for a year then went to the moon. The value of a coin does not depend on its tech and this is what litecoin will someday prove.

LTC is always good buy, just place your orders lower and wait for few days and magic will happen just like in the story.
But around halving we would see, at least 6 dollars if not 10 or more.. Cool

One of the best coin to invest for its stability. I'm bag holding a couple of hundred litecoins waiting for the right price to sell them.
