Litecoins are already a tremendous risk. Mitigating risk by just sitting on cryptocoins that can turn worthless over night doesn't seem like much mitigation at all to me, but that's just my perspective. The best reason to swap BTC for LTC for me has been burnside's fantastic exchange, but YMMV.

There is no counter-party risk holding LTC. Holding assets denominated in LTC like say a security or a loan is MORE risky.

Got it?

Oh wait...nevermind...go ahead and watch as you lose more money by getting scammed or not having enough liquidity to exit a stock/security. Grin Grin Grin

Much better to invest the LTC in dividend bearing assets while waiting.

I disagree. Counter-party risk is not worth the dividend.

long story short, it seams that its a smart move to have a couple thousands of LTC and hold it atleast till january, if u can afford it ofc, if u cant , sit down and enjoy the show.
I think this is a wise decision...

It looks like bASIQ ASICs for BTC are about to ship, so we may see the price or at least the difficulty of LTC explode very soon.

There is a scramble on right now to snap up BTC (wise? not sure) so people are moving out of everything else to get their hands on BTC. I think LTC is long term, we need to work on it more, but it's long term.

last few days LTC has gone from .00637 to .0053
That's a 21% drop!

and doesn't look like the end

Really doesn't mean anything, LTC dropped down to 0.0009 earlier this year from a high of around 0.01 around 12 months ago.

For the record I don't have any LTC, But I still think it'll last long term

holy fuck

title revised due to new information

Well what were BTC prices at those points?

BTC were worth around $2-$3 when LTC was @ 0.0009. I know because I sold several thousand. Oops Grin

so in USD LTC doubled its quadruple or quintuple value gain in btc even

pretty much. BTC and LTC both went up in value.

few whealthier people are trying to controll the price.
recently LTC started to be an interesting coin to market, amunt of users went up, mostly due to speculations involving ASIC mining / miners switching over to litecoin and increasing difficulty and therefor, making it more valuable, coz dumping it would be unprofitable.

time will tell succes or fail of this coin, in my opinion ; if it doesnt become interesting after ASIC mining, it will sink to nearly 0, but if users actualy start mining it, after initial dumps and diff. increase, its value will be much much higher.

long story short, it seams that its a smart move to have a couple thousands of LTC and hold it atleast till january, if u can afford it ofc, if u cant , sit down and enjoy the show.
