my 2 cents; i believe it will. superstitions aside, i think that eventually they will rise once the Btc mining gets too competitive and gpu mining becomes obsolete.

I think no, and I doubt it will ever be much supported by merchants. You may ask as well, when will someone come with Litecoin Qt 0.8x by modifying the 0.8x Bitcoin Qt client a bit ?

I'm nearly sure that LTC will rise to at least 6$ , roughly 2-3 month time

Litecoin was supposed to be CPU-only, but it didn't end well (meh.. GPU). But still it's 2nd (or 1st altcoin) and I think it's price will be going up slowly. If mtgox overcomes his problems and brings in LTC support, its price will peak. The reason it was steady in past few days it's likely because BTC GPU miners switched to LTC and everyone wanted to mine LTC while the difficulty was still low.
Not so long ago I would have said yes.. but now I think there's a decent chance someone will come up with a new coin that could overtake litecoin in popularity.. so I'm not so sure..
Maybe $10, $20 later on if it stays at #2. Ah, speculation...
Some say if more people would trade their LTC instead of hoarding, or more merchants accept it, then it will increase in value. $20 is just fool's gold.
