Stick to Bitcoin, there's no development or VC investments fawning over Litecoin at all.

Just pretend Litecoin is a scamcoin like Doge, Paycoin, Ripple, etc...it's not going anywhere anytime soon.

Especially once it decoupled from Bitcoin last year.

Just no incentive really to pay attention to it.  Just ask yourself this.  Does Microsoft, Overstock, Newegg, Expedia, soon to be Paypal accept Litecoin?  If the answer is no to all, then fuggedaboutit.
Totally agree with you.

Litecoin has no use. It offers absolutely nothing over Bitcoin, and is frankly, a shitcoin.

Bitcoin has almost instant transactions between merchants and consumers thanks to Bitpay. Litecoin does not.

Bitcoin has a very secure network with over a 4billion marketcap. Litecoin does not.

Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency ever. Litecoin isn't even the first altcoin(namecoin is).

Bitcoin has first mover advantage. Litecoin does not.

Bitcoin has ongoing development. Litecoin does not.

Bitcoin has companies, real merchant accepting it. Litecoin does not(Not even one).

Hell, if you want, you can even compare Litecoin to the Shittiest altcoins and those altcoins are still better, why? Because Litecoin has no development, no features, and no usage. It's basically an abandoned altcoin that has hordes of bagholders trying to sell off their stack.

Anyone saying otherwise is a desperate Litecoin bagholder trying to unload their bag on unsuspecting noobs(Practically everyone that has ever bought Litecoin is sadly, a bagholder due to the continuous and everlasting decreases in it's price)

Preach, Darkota, preach!!!

+1 to all your points, all valid ones that show despite Bitcoin's shortcomings, there really is no coin at the moment that can realistically take it's place.

So although Bitcoin may end up at Litecoin's price, Litecoin will probably end up a speck of crypto dust, and a mere footnote in Cryptocurrency and alt coin history...

seems now litecoin gets trolled from all sides; diehard bitcoin fanbois and a million and one scamcoin pumpers have a common percieved enemy (when this shouldn't be the case, guess its a sign of the get rich quick crowd that dominates this forum).

litecoin has strong fundamentals over bitcoin.

litecoin took the tried and tested from bitcoin and improved on it.

litecoin in my experience has more stable clients and moves way better then bitcoin.

getting bitcoin to wall street had huge hurdles (though it will make it). hard for market regulators to accept bitcoin anon dev (possible with a huge stash) and the amount of bitcoin unaccountable due to theft, illegal activity etc (before we get the ol but USD is used by criminals reply well tis not my argument its what the regulators expressed).

litecoin does not suffer the same mud ie mainly because know dev etc

fundamentally I prefer litecoin over bitcoin and certainly over any alt.
I'm agnostic on some of your points, but that's a damn fine analysis.

Litecoin is notable because it was the first alt-coin.
...

^ False.

Namecoin was the first altcoin of any note (IIRC, there were a few sort-of-altcoins before Namecoin, but Namecoin is effectively the first alt).

I actually have a chance to correct Melbustus, I believe the Testnet for Bitcoin was the first "Altcoin"? (I guess some might not consider it an alternate coin but I do).

02/02/2011 -  Genesis block timestamp for Testnet
17/04/2011 - Genesis block timestamp for Namecoin

As Namecoin is now merge-mined with Bitcoin it simply turned out to be just another aspect of Bitcoin. It is an alt in a sense, but not fully autonomous, it will dance synchronously with Bitcoin. The same holds true with regards to Litecoin and Doge pair, as the latter is just another aspect of Litecoin.

But the relationship between Bitcoin and Litecoin is something fundamentally different. Litecoin is a first fully autonomous alt-coin built on the same fundamentals (made in the image of), which can play whatever game it wants, though it usually still takes its cue from Bitcoin for the time being.

The way the crypto-space is unfolding is really a Creation in the making!
Bitcoin - is an inception zero point - 0 - there is nothing else yet, it itself is everything there is.
Litecoin - is a first true reflection - 1 - identity that Bitcoin can look at and recognize itself in.
People - is a neutral background filled with little virtual particles popping in and out of existence.

So taking this analogy a bit further we get something like this:
Bitcoin - is God, The Father
Litecoin - is God, The Son
People - is God, The Holy Spirit

These three then give birth to all the diversity in Creation.
Hope that helps! Smiley

Besides, LTC will be on MtGox any day now, it will be like the IPO, Fontas told me hisself.

Oh, that reminds me of the good ol' days Smiley

Anyways, BTC cannot enjoy its #1 position if there is no #2 to witness it.

I have no doubt in saying, BTC is clearly better than LTC.
Various reasons mentioned above. Just want to add, it is easier to achieve (satoshis)

It is true that BTC is stronger in almost every aspect, but there is one thing it cannot do - be independent of itself. Litecoin fills that niche, as it is very similar yet different. LTC is Bitcoin's first true reflection.

In that sense, Litecoin answers the paradoxical question - what if I want Bitcoin, but I don't want Bitcoin?

Litecoin had some initial and then re-surged success, although it is very dormant atm compared to bitcoin.

When price fluctuates too much people complain about volatility.
When price is finally stable, people call it dormant and get bored.

But the good thing is that people (me included) always find something to talk about.
You can't change that! Cheesy
