They are victims of ethnic cleansing, but at the same time, how many of the United Nations members recognize the existence of these republics? If I am not wrong, even Russia doesn't recognizes them. So it is right to call them as rebels.

I don't think that this republic will survive in the long-term future. There are two chances. Either they will be invaded and forcibly re-integrated in to Ukraine. Else, they will voluntarily merge with Russia.
Yes there are two options, but first is highly unlikable. Ukrainian army is not strong enough to defeat them. If somehow they are stronger Russia will just send help to DNR like they did it before and there will be status quo again.

As long as Russia supports the rebels, there is hardly any chance of the NATO sending in reinforcements. The conflict will remain frozen for many decades to come.

But I think that any of these scenarios isn't likely to happen in near future. Situation in estern Ukraine is badly stable and there are no signs that conflict can end soon.
