Loans are too risky especially when you are doing it online because you can't make sure that the person that want to take loan from you will pay you exact amount or even pay the loan because there is a lot of scammers in online world and i think the only thing to avoid or prevent it, is to get or request some collateral from the borrower so you can sell it when he didn't pay you.
That's correct but why there are still people who keep doing it, I've seen a lot of lenders in the forum, so I assume they are doing their business in a profitable way. In online lending, I guess we can minimize the risk, they lend in a higher interest rate and in a short term, that is why they are successful.
Have you looked at the interest rates some of these guys charge, it is often cheaper and easier to get a quick loan here than go to a money lender or bank (I would prefer not to give the bank anymore money too so that comes into play)
It's better to have a loan or give a loan to a trusted website and you could learn what you could do and the potential there would be great. It's definitely hard to trust someone that just happens to be a hacker or something, better be careful.

Loans are not that risky but as a newbie someone starting lending services won't be that successful. The reason is that none believe on newbies to submit collateral and get bitcoins for use.
Anyone can start and run a successful lending business with bitcoins, it doesn't matter what rank your account is here.
If the lender is going to take collateral for loans given out then that collateral should always be held by a trusted 3rd party escrow.

The loan is risky because here begins the problem especially when you have not paid for the time that you said. Especially when the monthly interest is considerably difficult to pay until it increases. Here you will feel hard to make debt.

It will put you on stress because you will be worried if the money you've lend will come back. Collaterals are the best way to insure a return and don't lend it online to unknown people.

I guess you should cash out some BTC and start a loaning business instead of worrying all your BTC to go to waste.

The guy who started this thread has now over 1 Million USD, of course if he hasn't made some stupid mistakes like selling them or investing in a Ponzi. I personally would do nothing if I had such money. Bitcoin is a good investment by itself, so why bother?

Yeah you're right. And it's not that hard anymore today to get our btcs because a lot of apps and wallets can directly get you bitcoins that you can keep though i think now's nit a very good time to buy. I lost a decent amount previously because i invested in ponzi and that made me rethink about investing in any other alt coins aside from btc and eth
Investing in ponzi is a stupid decision and most of us fall when we are still new in the community, but learning from our mistakes is vital so we have to move forward and continue searching what we are really aiming for. We all search for profit and with matured thinking, we know it cannot be done overnight like ponzi has offered to us, we need to be patient and hold longer our investment.

He said he has 800 BTC and that was last year, the value has increased substantially so even if he did not go on his plan to lend, I'm sure he is pretty much satisfied with his profit now.

I think this is a very risky way of earning. Only if bail, but then you need to get rid of the collateral in case of non-payment. Now many dishonorable people.

making loans sometimes have a huge risk, and vice versa. give large loans to a person, it would be a risk for people who lend, because it may be very difficult to be refunded. but, if they did make the mortgage, I think it would break even if they do not pay.
I think if you want to make profits from lending money to others. you should ask for a guarantee that has a higher exchange rate
This would be very safe because if they do not pay you still have the collateral

If we consider the loans a risk at banks imagine at crypto world, the huge problem is there is no way you build a business at lending without a proper colateral to cover the loss, because scammers has used and abused those systems, and there arent almost no honest persons at those places.

That's why if you are a lender it's your duty to always get a loaner that will give you an appropriate collateral or does have higher value of collateral with the total amount that he is borrowing. But still if there are collateral, that is risky because we know that there are borrowers that doesn't attain to pay their debt and just let their collateral take by the lender as payment.
This is not surprising anymore related to this situation because its part of this lending business, there are borrowers that they dont plan to repay the amount they have borrowed instead they just let the lendors to take their collaterals but on my side if im the lendor it doesnt matter as long the collateral have been left does really have value.

That is the risk in the part of the lender and even the banks are experiencing this type of problem. And that is the reason why I don't want to try this type of business as this will just give me an headache when it comes to collection of payments of those borrowers.

It's really risky to deal with loans and lend them to others who wanted to borrow money for personal use. We don't knew if these people were legit and responsible enough to pay for their debt, knowing that loans using btc doesn't exactly requiring personal appearance any yet you only needed to have good account reputation. In planning to invest with it making business for loans services is not that easy to manage, and you might loss bigger profit if those transaction made by those customers who will not comply their obligations of payments.

If you are planning to launch a service or business that includes giving out loans then that is really risky because bitcoin is digital so almost of the loans or transactions are done online and almost don't have a chance to verify and see the borrower in person. I think it will be just safe if you request collateral from the borrower because that is you can get the money back if ever that he will not pay you. If he doesn't give collateral then he is a scammer.
Correct lot of scammer in online transaction, but i am sure the person who give loans to other is much lower than the collateral offered by borrower and most of the collateral is the account of the borrower since the account here in bitcointalk.org is salable it is a good/best collateral to ensure the money of the debtor was returning back.
