There is a lot of activity in this thread, although low rank accounts have more activity because they don't have enough opportunities to rank up and can't take advantage of the local board.

However, some of the current members from Bangladesh like @Little Mouse @shasan are popular high rank members, they are contributing to this forum. Maybe many more good members will come from Bangladesh in the near future. So I also think it will be a good move to create a local board for Bangladesh.

Last Month Activity Stats of bangladesh Thread.

Quoting for visibility.

As i remember correctly, for the last few weeks Pakistan's local thread members were demanding the local board and now I see Bangladesh looking for a local board. Seems like Nigeria got its local board recently and now other community members also demanding local boards.

With the amount of effort and work these communities are doing, I guess it's high time that a few more local boards needs to be created for those who are already active like this Bangladesh thread.
Thanks that you support creating local board for Bangladesh and other community but bringing Nigeria got their local board is irrelevant. Maybe you didn't notice this thread creation date. OP has created this thread long ago but due to various reasons including lack of enough activity, we couldn't make it yet. But since, these days we are having more activities than previous, we can expect to get a local board.

It is true  that in the last 5-6 months Bangladesh topic is the most active one (with Pakistan) in Other Languages/Locations section. As a matter of fact, when you compare it with other communities that have their own local board, Bangladesh still doesn't look bad. Since I wanted to support those communities that are kinda neglected, I included few of them in monthly overview of local board activity from October overview, and will keep including them from now on.

Thanks a lot for your constant effort to keep us updated with charts. Looking forward to December 2020 charts.
No problem, I am glad to hear you find those charts useful. I have no doubts that forum staff knows about your board activity, but sometimes it's not bad to see them in charts and compare to others.

Just so you know, December charts are out. Once again Bangladesh board looks pretty decent, with nice amount of posts and merit shared for community without local board and merit source. Who knows, if you you keep it up maybe you get that local board in the end.
Thanks. OP updated with your latest chart.

I have updated OP with a fresh application. Hereby requesting theymos to please have a look at it.

I made November local board overview few days ago, including the Bangladesh topic. In the link below you will find several charts that you can use and share as you please.
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.55779585

By the way, it's good to see that you are keeping your post count on par with previous months, but unfortunately merit shared dropped significantly.

Can you please look through the activity statistics of local board for the month of November 2020 and share standing of our local thread as you did for the month of October. Our local community will be so much grateful to you.

Outstanding job, Rikafip. Sad to say that I have no smerit left to share with you.
Number of shitpost have been reduced significantly in compare with the past, while number of reporters have been increased too as active people in the local board want to have quality discussion. Moreover, there are people who want to learn about bitcoin, cryptocurrency but due to lack of enough information with Bengali language, it has been impossible. Including me, there are some members who want to contribute in the forum for Bengali language as it will play vital role to guide the local users but as I said above, organizing the guide in a single thread can never be a good idea and not productive in term of usage as they will be buried but no way to bump them.
BitcoinDream has linked a few articles in the OP but that doesn't look good if he adds more link.

On the chart below you can see Bangladesh (communities without local board are marked with *) topic somewhere in the middle with 306 posts written during October ahead of many others with own local board, and it looks like November will be similar in that regard (so far 250+ posts written).

Source of data used for this chart: @DdmrDdmr Merit Dashboard

I do hope that you get your own local board eventually as I think that local boards are important part of bitcointalk and can help spread the word about bitcoin among those that don't understand English well. If you want any chance of that happening you will have to keep it active and spam&shitposts free for longer period of time, so admins are sure that they are not wasting their time if they decide to give you your own local board just so it gets abandoned soon after that. There are already plenty of half-dead local boards so it's no surprise that admins are very hesitant to add new ones.

Bumping.
Is there any chance that we will get the local board anytime soon? It has been a problem to contribute in one thread as you can never get the information spread over everyone as the post will not be visible once some posts are there. It would be pretty good if we had local board. We could contribute for the local people to better understand about crypto. I have planned for writing some tutorials, informational article but I don't think the single thread is enough for posting them.

@theymos, please consider the situation and add a local board. We everyone from the local community would be grateful to you.

For real local boards, I have these stats which show they are much active and deserve to have own sub-forums. Most of them have more than 10 posts per day.

Avg 6 months = 1,87 posts per day. There is a slight recent increase these past 2 months, but nothing that shines of its own light.
Thus, it has been determined that a local board isn't required for the Bangladesh language. Although, it would be nice to get statistics from those that do have their dedicated section to be able to effectively compare the difference.

A bit off topic: If one inactive place turns into more active or very active, it sheds the light on something interesting or suspected behind the scene. What happened with the forum in last 3 months of 2017 is a good example. Come fast, go fast or just come to abuse the system (at least they feel they can).
Not completely off topic, because before implementing a new section for local languages it is probably a good idea to look at the long term outlook of the section, and whether there is a reason for spikes in activity from a particular demographic, and try to establish whether this is likely to continue. For an extreme example, if a country declared Bitcoin as their official currency we would likely see a dramatic increase in users from that country, and this would likely be a long term trend. However, if its due to a signature campaign specifically for a certain language then this isn't likely to continue if that signature campaign were removed.

Bangladesh users communicating in their local section haven't had any such rises, and the long term outlook is probably very much the same as previous years.

Avg 6 months = 1,87 posts per day
1.87 posts per day is a lower one compared to the figure for the whole history (2.1 posts per day if I did not counted it incorrectly months ago); in percent, it is 11% lower. I agreed with your approach but I am not going to this because I don't have details data available. Anyway, thank you, DdmrDdmr.

In this specific case, I’d say it’s fine to have a wide perspective on the number of historical posts, but since the thread stated on May 2014, a lot can have happened in between. For example, if historically the activity was very low, but has picked up traction over the past six months, the traction is diluted in the average over such a long period of time.

It would be better to complement it with the number of posts, month per month, over (let’s say) the last six months. Ideally, that would also have a reading of the number of distinct posters in that period (to discard heavy activity created by just a couple of forum members), although this latter aspect is a pain in the back to do it manually.

Having said that, numbers are not that great to justify a Local Board I guess:
Code:
month          from      to        nDays          Avg/day
01 2020        4404      4456      22             02,41
12 2019        4277      4403      31             04,10
11 2019        4251      4276      30             00,87
10 2019        4214      4250      31             01,19
09 2019        4163      4213      30             01,70
08 2019        4129      4162      31             01,10
Avg 6 months = 1,87 posts per day. There is a slight recent increase these past 2 months, but nothing that shines of its own light.

Thanks for the detailed break up. Could you please update your table with latest data? Also, how many posts per day local subs do get now-a-days?
Sorry, I am not going to this because subboards for other languages are mostly inactive, as you see from stats. You can check it yourself by click on the thread of your interest subboard, and see the total post at the end, then couting the total days (from beginning - OP in first page till the end - last post in the last page). It is easy to calculate average sum of posts per day.

Very active, I don't think so. From stats I have, that thread has about 2 posts per day, in average. That is too low to require for a specific local board.

I think, it is high time we revisit this application. Because of the constant moderation of OP and continuous contribution of many, Bangladesh thread is now much better than before. Since page 195, at least one person has received merit on almost every page from various members of Bangladesh. At this stage, I would request theymos, to reconsider the appeal to create a sub-forum for বাংলাদেশ (Bangladesh).

This is one of the reason I want a board, because as a moderator I'd be able to nuke a spammer or handle spam reports at one go.
I doubt local moderator can nuke an user. An user can have posts in other section too. So, logically, you will not be able to nuke an user.
In addition, from the comments above, it seems you are not active in the forum, almost not at all. How will you manage if you be a local moderator?

1. Our thread is very active - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bengali-631891

2. I am getting huge no. of PM from Bangladeshis for various type of help.

Note: There are people asking real questions in Bengali. These legit queries have increased lately after the thread was stickied. I am getting similar questions in Bengali like 'Where to buy Bitcoin in Bangladesh?', 'Where to earn Bitcoin?', 'How start developing on top of Bitcoin?', 'How to use Bitcoin in Bangladesh?' etc. in PM as well. I cant reply all of them 24x7. Hence, I think, a sub would be great to organize legit questions as well as to control spam.
There are a lots of spam post. I think more than 50% posts are spam. And your mentioned thread is self moderated. Archive: https://archive.fo/rqlVg
But you have no time/Do not want to remove spam post/spammer from the topic. If you cant remove spam post/spammer from a single topic then how you will mange/someone manage too much spammer from a board. If you want to manage then want to say how it is possible? From last 3 weeks you are offline.

First of all, I do remove spam periodically. But, it is difficult to keep up to the huge spam influx just by self moderation. This is one of the reason I want a board, because as a moderator I'd be able to nuke a spammer or handle spam reports at one go. For now, I'd suggest you and other sane active members of the thread to keep reporting spam, so that global mods can handle those quickly.

But you have no time/Do not want to remove spam post/spammer from the topic. If you cant remove spam post/spammer from a single topic then how you will mange/someone manage too much spammer from a board. If you want to manage then want to say how it is possible? From last 3 weeks you are offline.

We don't want terrorist scam shit posters spamming this forum.
You are the best example as a spammer.

Notice:
It's Not a forum to talk about (hi,hello, how are you, good morning, good night)....I am giving last warning for you guys who are posting this type of shitpost..I am saying this for your safety. You will understand it very badly when you will see you're counted as a spammer and your account will be banned....

Make that guy a moderator or something which will be a ideal way to reduce spam on the section and encourage constructive posting.
I am not agree with you. The topic is on: বাংলাদেশ (Bengali) but the person posting on English so how effective it can be?

Let me do some math:
-On average, 2.5 posts per day in the 4 years.
-On average, 16 posts per day in the past month
-About 20 posts per day in the past week
If that's all activity coming from an entire country, it doesn't need its's own sub-forum. If you don't count the spam, you may not even reach one decent post per day.
I am agree with you. But Bangladeshi people posted on https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bangla-1979138 too. And also they posted on many other local topics too as they are bengali.
In this case I suggest if theymos ceate a sub forum/board then it should be base on language. If it is base on Bengali Language then it will be more fit. There are a lots of user who talks in Bengali even the numbers of Bengali people out of Bangladesh are more than Bangladeshi.

Give these guys their own sub-forum. Otherwise they're turning Regional Languages (India) into a Bangladesh sub-forum. Since the shady disappearance of Benson Samuel, India sub-forum does not have any dedicated moderator. So, there is none to take care of this flood. Undecided

The thread is much more clean & readable now. It is evident from the last few pages that spam is under control after the minimum merit restriction is imposed on newbies. I regularly delete spam from the thread, but if any of you still notice any, feel free to Report to moderator. Till we get our own sub, some global mod may handle those reports.

To be honest, you are also a one line poster, that are consider as a spam activity.
One line posts are never considered as spam activity as long as those are on-topic and add value to a discussion.

Lot of spam on your thread, also merit abuse.
Merit abuse is here and there, not only in Bengali thread, isn't it?

Another sub-forum means make a opportunity to spam more.
Not agree with you. Indeed sub-forums are the way to remove spamming.

You should concentrate first on your self moderated post. Your activity is very less on your thread. Most of post there only 5/6 word even native language. So how you expect a decent sub-forum with them?
Agreed.
But he is not active doesn't mean there is no one active from Bangladesh. We have a lot of active users, they are not active in Bengali thread because of spamming. But whenever there will be a sub-forum, we can control the spamming and we will see some more traffics.

@Theymos
Please consider adding a subforum for Bangladeshi users. There are lots of people who want to learn about Bitcoin.

Once again, I am hereby requesting theymos to look into the appeal for a sub-forum for Bangladesh. Now, the thread is having much more constructive discussion and I have added some information in the OP for newbies as well. But, discussion of multiple topics in the same thread is very difficult.

I'm also form Bangladesh, in this local section I saw a lot of spam and shit post. I already tried to tell the forum modarator. Bangla is a language where you can't mixed it up with other language, but some people are still mixed it. I think they don't have any respect in there native language. If you are good in English then why you try to post in English in other thread like Bitcoin discussion, meta, altcoin discussion etc. This thread created for writing in Bangla only, so why people write in English? This forum modarator don't know Bangla as well, when someone complained about it they (modarator) check the content meaning using Google translator and they didn't found any error because they mixed with Bangla and English. Google translator convert Bangla to English, other side it's already have some English so result represent good quality content with appropriate grammar also. If you think as a Bangladeshi it's totally wrong. All of the world know we are only the nation who are fight for native language. We will lose our reputation in this forum if we don't stop spamming and near future people will treat Bangladeshi people as a spammer.

This post don't have any intention to hurt anyone's feelings, but this is the real fact, we should avoid spamming. From today we will post good quality Bangla content in this thread.

I request from my heart to theymos please make a sub-forum for Bangladeshi.

OP, your local thread is self-moderated, but it's full of spam. You had to remove all that spam before asking to create local board. Then you would have better chance to get dedicated board for Bangladesh then. Now it's unlikely that theymos will create it. And if you remove all that spam, your thread will be not active enough.
And I'm wondering, why Bangladesh have two sticked topics on Other languages and locations section?

I'm also a Bangladeshi. It will be nice if we have a sub forum. But you should know how much persons are here from Bangladesh.

Active but with lots of spam. Having lots of reply doesn't mean active.
For example, check mohiulbd's post on your Bengali thread. I'm surprised that his account is still not banned.

2. I am getting huge no. of PM from Bangladeshis for various type of help.
Why don't you create a thread by answering all the question and update it regularly? It will really be appreciated. If you don't have enough time, please send me all the questions and I will create one.
Also you can update your OP there by answering all the question.

OP: Your local thread is a shitshow of spam and shitposts.
I was going to suggest to make a new, self-moderated thread, but it is already self-moderated! So BitCoinDream, why don't you start by deleting all useless posts in that thread?

1. Our thread is very active
Let me do some math:
-On average, 2.5 posts per day in the 4 years.
-On average, 16 posts per day in the past month

He's only been active for a week, otherwise I'd suggest he should open a new self-moderated thread and give it a shot.

Look to who is talking about shit posting and spamming and using the word terrorism to describe a bunch of people is disgusting... To the ignore list forever.

-snip-
Had the same remark and i was almost to post the same thing, pretty much if their "discussion" topic will continue like this, it will end up like the Vietnamese...locked. Besides, using "urgently" in the title will make things just worse.

OP: Your local thread is a shitshow of spam and shitposts. I doubt theymos would create a sub forum so those users can spam more for their bounties and signature campaigns. Just look at those Newbies in the last page spamming to increase their post count.

#############################################################################################
New Application (2021)
#############################################################################################

I am running Bengali Thread since 2014. Before implementation of merit system, it was a cesspool for account farmers. I have deleted 1200+ posts by 170+ users so far to clean up spam. But, thanks to some great contributors in the thread, it has lately turned into a great place to discuss All things Crypto in Bengali. Though I do not login everyday, I do constantly check the thread to keep it clean.

Unfortunately, community growth is now being hampered for not having our own sub-forum. People are trying to run their own buy/sell service, writing wallet & exchange reviews, discussing alts, planning meetup and a lot more. But, all these are getting cramped into a single thread. Part of community has also started to move to other forum and platforms.

Charts prepared by Rikafip is showing that we are consistently doing better than many existing local boards.

Post activity per local board during October 2020

Post activity per local board during November 2020

Post activity per local board during December 2020

I think, the current bull run will bring in lots of people to Crypto. If we can't sort out things before that, it might be too late. For now, just a local board will do. As we grow, we may decide whether we need any sub forum under that as well.

Old Application (2018)

1. Our thread is very active - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bengali-631891

2. I am getting huge no. of PM from Bengalis for various type of help.
