If u got the wallet.bat u can just reinstall the new core 11.0.2 and insert the bat in the bitcoin wallet folder.
Then open Your wallet and the Blockchain should load up again. Afterwards you should have your Coins back Smiley

Is there anyway to get back the bitcoins in a locked wallet if I have the file? Someone please help!

What you mean locked, encrypted? Is it a core wallet? (wallet.dat)?

Well in that case, im afraid you are out of luck. The only way to access it, you would need to know the password, there's no other way around it. Even if the passworld was weak, I don't think bruteforcing is a viable option.
There are tools which can help users to bruteforce the password. It would only help if user have at least some idea of the password or always use a well known phrase as the password. The tool is here: https://github.com/gurnec/btcrecover

Unsure why almost everyone in this thread is dismissing brute force recovery.
If @OP can't remember a password or create a proper backup, I doubt he has a strong password.

I think he said a 2autorization or 2fa to lock the bitcoin wallet or a pincode ?

You can do that ... view your balance ... and cry because YOU CAN NOT SPEND WITHOUT THE PASSWORD.

Deal with the reality.

Something tells me that the OP has concluded that he is screwed from the previous replies and that's why he doesn't bother with replying!

Everyone should keep close attention not to lock themselves like this out of their bitcoins!

What file? a wallet.bat file ?
do you have the private key?

Um....Yeah. We don't really know what you are talking about. Please give us some more information otherwise we can't really help you. The only thing that I can tell is that your Bitcoin wallet is not a web wallet because you said you have a "file".

if you're passpharse is very strong, i'm sorry but they are gone forever, there is no way even via brute force that you can retrieve those

otherwise you can try to bruteforce, but even then would be an hard enterprise

I'd like to know how you can lock yourself out of a paper wallet.

It sounds more like he forgot the password to a Bitcoin core type of wallet.

BIP38 encryptred paper wallets carry a user chosen password. If you forget that you're fucked.

I think the OP has managed to lock himself out of a Core wallet though as you said.

So little info OP. Tell us what happened. What wallet and how you lost control of it. All the info you can provide. Otherwise we can't know if you actually own that wallet or not.

I also think that the type of wallet itself (paper wallet or online storage) should be informed. It'll be much easier if the case is the OP forgot the password. With the mnemonic, it still retrievable.

Even if the passworld was weak, I don't think bruteforcing is a viable option.

If he has some general idea of what the password was then it's a very viable option. Check http://www.walletrecoveryservices.com/.
That sounds really cool, bookmarked it. Of course I know my password and practice sometimes (unlock and lock again every month or two to get my fingers memory of the typing the password).
