I have updated the logs and chart on the front page to reflect the new data as of July 28, 2023.

Since my previous report which was posted a year and a half ago, 214 more sMerit HODLers have sent merits for the first time.

I have just visited the profiles of some of the high-ranking members listed in the third table and noticed the following remark:
Code:
This user recently woke up from a long period of inactivity.

Users who have recently started sending their airdropped sMerits are as follows:

January 2023: 2 Full Members, 4 Sr. Members, 1 Hero Member and 1 Legendary.
February 2023: 6 Full Members, 1 Sr. Member and 2 Legendaries.
March 2023: 8 Full Members, 3 Sr. Members and 1 Hero Member.
April 2023: 1 Full Member and 4 Legendaries.
May 2023: 1 Full Member and 1 Sr. Member.
June 2023: 5 Full Members, 2 Sr. Members and 1 Hero Member.

Maybe your 10 months absence from updating this post is a big gap and you can reduce it by making it every 3 months now that there is much activities in the forum. That is just my humble suggestion and i hope you understand.

I think updating every 3 months is too frequent for this topic. In the future, the number of new sMerit HODLers will decrease more and more, so I will refresh these logs from time to time. Wink

Since another 10 months have passed, I decided to actualize all the logs and chart on the first page of this thread.

Since another 10 months have passed, I decided to actualize all the logs and chart on the first page of this thread.

This time, 257 new users have been added to the list. Most of them are not familiar to me, some of them are red tagged by other members.

I noticed that a few weeks ago even ChartBuddy, who was a Legendary on the day the merit system was introduced, has sent merits for the first time. His helpful automated bot is active on the well-known "Wall Observer BTC/USD" thread and has earned over 250 merits prior to this send. Welcome to the system! Cool

It seems that I will need to update this thread again in the future.

I've updated all the lists and chart on the first page of this thread to reflect the latest data.

223 users who were credited with airdropped sMerits in January 2018 have recently joined the merit system. Finally, they sent sMerits aged 2 years and 9 months! Their patience is astounding.

Honestly, I thought that the number of such users would stop growing in 2020, but it looks like these logs will continue to bloat even in 2021.

Another 5 months elapsed, so I decided to update these lists and chart.

I was surprised that many users still hold their airdropped sMerits. It seems that some users who recently sent merits to others for the first time either were red tagged by DT members or woke up after a long period of inactivity.

Since another 136 users, who were Full Members and above on January 24, 2019, decided to use the merit system and sent sMerits for the first time, I updated the three tables and chart on the first page.

There are already too many users in the logs, so I published the forth part in an external post.

According to the chart, it seems that some members still do HODL their airdropped sMerits.

The logs and chart have been updated. I also published another part of the logs in my third post above.

The list of sMerit HODLers who sent merits for the first time continues to grow. There are already 1207 users who began to send their airdropped merits from September 17, 2018, and later.

I updated the logs.

958 users who were Full Members or higher on the day the merit system was introduced have already been listed in the first posts of this thread, so I published parts of the logs in other posts.

I also created a chart that shows how many users sent merits since September 17, 2018. Here I do not omit users who have received 10 airdropped merits, so the red curve reflects their number. I added this chart to one of the first posts. Cool

Taking 6months to send 1 merit is suspicious, but I don’t think you are handing the data in the best way here OP.

I agree with you. Perhaps here is too many data. I just excluded from these lists the users who were Members on January 24, 2018.

To play devils advocate as to why some of these members(likely a small percentage) would engage in this behavior.

Of course, most of these members who sent merits for the first time are decent and honest, but some of them look suspicious.

Hardly an attack in any way shape or form. Just accurately using information, and it even seemes to be done in jest, either way.

Perhaps they didn't accept the merit system. Silently chanting "Not my Merit System". In this case they didn't engage or partake in the merit system and continued on in blissful abstention. They may have then taken exception with the new part of the system and then decided to go out meriting newbies.

Not necessarily suspicious (for sure not in all cases) - that list comes from merit database (unless Coin-1 correct me)

1. this case we don't know anything about their activity from January till September some of them could not have been active at all and that's the reason of not giving merit away
2. there are a lot of Members who didn't earn any merit so they wasn't interested in meriting... probably they didn't even know they have 1 smerit after 17 IX whole forum start to talk about merits and that's how they know about it (it could also refer to upper rank as well most of them wasn't also active on merit field)

... It's just statistics that can be interesting and probably useful.

Sorry but listing all rows from prepared dataset you you can not call statistics...
If you at least compare how many people sent their first merit during a month before introducing 1 merit revolution to the amount of people who did it during a month after that day and we could see a difference which would show us something - it would be a statistics.

Don't get me wrong - i like some of your previous work but not this one.

Maybe you didn't read the whole post that is why you are saying it is pointless. But to keep you up to speed he basically created this long list of members who have started sending their merits (mostly to newbies) when theymos created a new ranking system that ranked down a lot of Jr. Members back to newbies, this day marked this members who have hodl their sMerits and finally started sending merits to this Jr. Members turned newbies. Bottom line is I think he is trying to connect this newbie accounts of being alt accounts of this merit hoarders.

Connecting peple who send first their first merit ever with downgraded jr. members would be better idea - many people from OPs list actually did it but there are also many of them who sent their first (and only) merit to members, full members and upper rank as well (actually more than 42% merits from users who give away first merit after 17.09.2018 went to members and upper ranks)....

Look like you are still live on childhood. If I am not wrong second time you attack me with same reference. I replied on your thread what is true. More than 7 post you have created with similar subject about merit. That's why you are always trying to counter me ? Well then do it. May be it will help improve your rank because your activity 290 but merit is only 39 and you are still member. But I am ok with my merit as well my merit is more than faster my activity. I bothered to reply you because I am going to put you on my ignore list. So wherever and whatever you reply it will not visible for me. You are free to post against me. I don't have much time to bother myself in nonsense work. Best of luck.

I can't get the point of publishing that loooong list.
Do you think you put a pressure on them to send more merits or do it often? I don't think so... (probably none of them will ever visit it)

Sorry but for me it's boring and pointless...

Isn't it obvious that when the new merits system was introduced, the willingness to also hand out merits was stimulated, members(high ranked) became more liberal in handing out merits to good posters(at least so they could rank up/differentiate them from shitposters....

As I remember, people sent a huge amount of sMerits in the early days when the merit system has been introduced. This analysis takes in consideration only those members who did not make any merit transaction until September 17, 2018.

I don't see the reason making this boring list,if you have any proof against them, report to a MOD or DT

I don't blame sMerit HODLers. It's just statistics that can be interesting and probably useful.

Even during the period came an increase in the merit sources,so that's enough to prove that merits were handed out more during this period than others(with the exception of the day the merits itself was introduced)

I don't see the reason making this boring list,if you have any proof against them, report to a MOD or DT

What's much more important - by publishing this list you "punish" users, who sent at least one merit, but thousands of users who didn't send any will stay in shadow... unnoticed maybe forever...

It's just the list of sMerit HODLers who sent their merit for the first time. No any punishment to them. I will shorten my posts in the future.

The OP is probably thinking along the lines of those members sending out merits for the first time because demoted junior members needed it and were probably willing to pay for it.

No, I don't think like that. Moreover, I see that your merited post is good.

I don't see any point of your image that you used on original post. To be honest I didn't find the point how is it useful for us.

Unfortunately, there is no substantial evidence to support a merit abuse claim.
