Confidence and facial expressions can have an important influence on how you are seen and whether or not opportunities emerge. When you are confident, you radiate a positive energy that is irresistible. People prefer to work with someone who radiates confidence and capability. Body language is also an important aspect of this. If you're bending down or glancing at the ground, you won't radiate the same optimism as someone who's standing up straight and making direct contact with you. It's important to remember that your look might influence how others view you, which can sometimes affect your chances of gaining an opportunity. So it's quite good to seem nice not just for the opportunity but also for your good.

To me, I think that's normal in our every day lives, and just as you have already stated it clearly, you will be addressed by how you dress, so once you look ok, you will automatically be attractive to people around you, when I was still studying in college, their was this teacher, that teaches us, that always says that looking good is a business, I never understand that, till it was when I became an adult that I got to understand everything he always says to us.

So in essence, it's very important as a young man to always look good, so as you can be attractive enough to be presentable to any opportunity, and lastly, it's also applies to your personality, try as much as possible to have an attractive personality, because it's really beneficial to the you.

Looking presentable is important because it creates a positive first impression. When you present yourself well it shows that you care about your appearance & take pride in yourself. This can attract opportunities as people are more likely to trust & respect someone who looks put together. Looking presentable can boost your confidence which can help you excel in social & professional settings. It also demonstrates professionalism & attention to detail, qualities that are highly valued in the work place. Looking presentable opens doors & increases the likelihood of opportunities coming your way.

There's this saying that goes "your dress sells you (advertises you) and make people tell you (speak about you)" dressing is another you, that speaks when your mouth is closed. With just your dress sense you can win favours from people's hearts unintentionally.

So you are unarguably right my dear, with just your dress you can be considered for various opportunities cause alot of people need sharp looking people for their brands and businesses, if you are Intelligent and your dress sense is magnificent then you are undoubtedly fit for the task

Keeping one physical cleanliness  is very important, it's also an additive to good health living apart from meeting and appearing before people.

Naturally appearance matter allot even many of our youth are innocent but have suffer so much in the hand of our force's due to appearance, it's negativity nothing to write home.

But in all of this appearance in our present environment and economy need moderation because it's advantages is no more consider but turn out negative, example your travelling a rural meeting because they make you chairman if the occasion your going with latest rolce Royce your already digging grave for yourself, this implied in other aspect of thing one do.

That's true, looking good and properly dressed makes you stand out. I often see how people can't dress themselves for an event, like a wedding, funeral, or even a simple work meetup. It doesn't take a lot of time and skill to do it, you just need to care and know a few simple rules. Not being a cheap bastard that has a single suit for everything helps too Wink

As for casual clothes, many people overdo it one way or the other. They look too formal when it's not required, or too informal when people expect them to represent company, or family, so don't overdo it, or you'll stand out too much.  You want people to see that you're neat, but not too stiff, if you know what I mean.

I would say this is basic regardless of it's a job or general meeting or connecting with family members and friends while it may not bring the opportunities to your doorstep but atleast it will leave an good impression and which may act as a bridge between you and your opportunity but one definitely needs skill set in order to maximise the opportunity and make the most of it because if you walk into any IT or software development company you won't believe those employees are the ones delivering mins boggling products because I have seen some of them are so simple and don't had good command over their comminution but they got the skill which is required to deliver the ask hence they are there so I would say skillset play much bigger role here

Honestly am so interested in this topic because it talks about how we do present ourselves and the way we do that will determine the approach others will also give on us, its very important that we change our kind of old mentality and upgrade to the way that could benefit us through how we appear or package ourselves, this is part of the reasons you discover that some businesses fail while some don't because they all have their different ways of packaging, we must learn how to present ourselves, not only this, we must also have a quality content in what we are presenting or packaging and we shouldn't be just an empty vessel.

People always want to present themselves well by dressing smartly and smartly for job interviews. Respecting beautiful words is human nature. These are not possible without hard work. It is not enough to have only appearance. If you are not good at work then no company will employ you by looking at your appearance. People achieve success through experience and hard work.

Yeah ever since I learned that looking sharp and putting effort into how you present yourself whether in person or online is like investing in your own brand. It's all about creating opportunities and good vibes whether you're meeting people or hanging out in forums. Just be yourself, but make it the best version

It's true that you're addressed the way you're dressed and looking good is good business, so giving a first impression with how you're dressed really matters, because it'll anounce and give you a better audience in a gathering or in an interview. Looking good doesn't mean that the person must dress in very expensive outfits, what matters is that the person looks smart in a clean clothes and shoes, also smell good.

We must understand that the way we look is the first impression, and that can give some marks and appreciations, but what really matters is what we can deliver after the first impression, because after looking good and you're not able to meet up the standard of why you're in the gathering or interview, then the looks might not pay off. It's said that a book should not be judged by it's cover, meaning that a shabbily dressed person can be more qualified for a job or an appointment than a smartly dressed person.

You know they had always been this popular saying that “the way you dress will be the way you’re addressed” of course they are different dress code for different occasions. As a young and vibrant young person, you ought to dress smart and smell nice that’s your one way ticket of gaining recognition in any meeting. The way you dress and how nice you smell will grant you audience to any meeting or hearing.
Although I don't place much emphasis on appearance because it could be deceptive, it is always good to dress and smell good. One doesn't need to wear expensive clothes or perfumes to look good, a clean and well-ironed cloth is enough. However, I grant access to everyone regardless of their looks or smell because the true beauty of anyone is not the physical one but in his character or behaviour.

As a young man you don’t have to be  caught unfresh, that will drop your swag, and this may lead to low self esteem and even lack of confidence.  Opportunities may even come your way simply because of how you dress and how well you’re able to rep yourself, this is the simplest task but most important part facing the real world. It really pays when you invest in yourself.
I think you should invest more in the emotional, intellectual, and social parts of your life than physical. You can attract people by your physical appearance but you can retain your job or relationship with the other aspect of your personality.

You don't expect to go for a job interview or contract offer looking messy or in disorder and you expect the employer to grant you a job opportunity, also asides looking presentable in physical, one ought to be very organized for instance over here in the forum, if you present your posts well by creating quality and quantity posts, meaningful posts that are attractive it could fetch you opportunities, what are the opportunities, Merits that could help you rank up.
It is important to dress based on the situation. Every professional has dress codes, therefore it will be proper to dress according to the ethics of these professions. The first thing people will look at before reading a work you authored is the presentation. You might have a piece of quality information in your work but a shabby work can discourage people from reading it.

This is quite true. Sometimes in a gathering or meeting, you may have an executive in your midst that you have been dreaming of giving your business card to but if you are not well dressed and confident of yourself, that may discouraged you from doing that contract chase which may be the end of the opportunity to see that particular personality maybe for a long time. So it is a good advise to look smart and good because you don't know the opportunity you are seeking for that you may get on a platter of gold but because you are looking unpresentable you may not want to put yourself in the public.

In an occasion for example, those who are well dressed and looking nice won't have to be scared that they are not going to be accepted in the public, they go around confidently because they want to be noticed, when you are not neatly dressed, it doesn't give you that aura of confidence, especially you have to smell nice with good mouth breath. It is very offensive if the mouth is not properly taken care of  Grin

Appearance matters alot, the way we dress is how people will always use in defining us .  Looking good is a good advantage and can be of favour to anyone in searching of jobs. People always respect and honour People who are always looking good looking.  Most time respect is gained by our appearance and nothing much. With thevway one is looking someone can try to figure out if responsible or not.

I agree. You do not have to be necessarily good looking as we all have different standards of what is good looking to us but looking presentable is a key to a lot of job opportunities. “Look the part” as they say. People can look at you for 5 seconds and immediately form an image about what kind of person you are.

So, it’s important that you dress the way you want to be perceived. Show personality, cleanliness, and organization. Liking the way you look and dress will boost confidence and an employer can sense one’s confidence. Confidence is good. Remember that confidence and arrogance are different things.

How you carry yourself around in any space you enter can get you to a lot of places in regards of your career.

I have to contradict this somewhat.I strongly agree that you have to dress well and smell great when you go for a job interview because the first impact is always the one who will either hire you or don't hire you,yet there are times when that is not enough, you get past the first impact and you get invited for a second interview and then you mess it up there, let's suppose it is a technical interview for a technical job and you respond to lots of technical questions wrong, this most likely mean that you will not go further and won't get a job so only dressing well won't make you go further unless you add it also big preparation for the opportunities when they will come to you.

It should be an attitude of a person to become presentable at all times. But when you're at home, you know that you can wear anything that's comfortable to you. I think that if it's related to job interviews, meetings and business deals. You definitely need to dress properly as there are dress codes for that and you're going to face with the people that are professionals too. You need to make that first impression lasts for them and they definitely going to remember the way you dress as some of them have that impression on what type of a person you are just based on how you dress. But I don't think that it's one big factor to land a job because most of these companies won't really look at what you wear but will look at your credentials and what you can contribute to the company. Anyway, that's one way to get the interview and for them to dig you deeper so there's the connection but as I am saying, that the biggest factor for someone to get hired is to confident on the interview and how you're going to sell to them based on the experiences and skills, expertise that you have. They won't just hire someone who's good looking because the interviewer like him but are empty in skills and nothing to contribute to the company. In conclusion, it's all about how we wear properly and casually at all times wherever we go because that portrays our character.

Looking good in anywhere you go, it can lead you to a better opportunity that will connect you to some leaders that will make your Star to shine more than other people in your family and, it will make others people to see the rewards that attached when someone smell nice and looking good at the moment.

Many interviewers always pick their employees through their dressing in the interview and when you don't dress well in that interview, it can make you to loose the job and the job will be give to someone that dress well in the front of the interviewers.

This would only be applicable and would work the best in a job interview though, on other occassions, I think being decent with what you were and not being too flashy or just wear according to how much is your net worth is probably the best thing to do, opportunity don't come because of your appearance,
I will disagree with you for saying opportunities don't come because of someone's appearance, dressing decent pays a lot not even when you go for an interview and again if you are not even use to decent dressing it shows when you try it for any purpose. Being rich or poor decent dressing is important and again I believe dressing well doesn't depends on your net worth and looking good doesn't depends on how the expensive the clothes many look, as for me I can manage even three clothes and I will look very decent in it, it is all about plans on how to go about it.

On the other hand decent dressing bring more opportunities because anywhere you your appearance will give more concentration by the people living there and they will like to be of any assistance you need from them.

Opportunities doesn't' mean getting money or offer alone, also getting attendant to your needs is also an opportunity, infact anything that will be of help to you is an opportunity.

Some people do not care and/or do not have access to clean facilities. If you are fortunate to have a choice, the OP is very correct and you need to be presentable, since "Captain Sweat Pants" will never be the one hired to run the show.
