People have to decide for themselves if they do collateral.

The lend went fine in my opinion, got myself some trust now.

You aren't going to ask for an higher unsecured sum now, right?  Roll Eyes
Will ask for 10 BTC next time cause I have so much trust now.

Usually when you send a negative trust rating, the user would retaliate and send one back too. This hasn't happened in your case.

No big deal, untrusted ratings from deep red dumbasses aren't worth anything.

Why would I have negative trust?  I did the lending and everyone cried that I did not require collateral since I am the lender it was my choice.

I agree that a no-collateral Bitcoin with a near double return is an HYIP.

In lending, the lender usually wants a guaranteed proof of repayment; that's either by a regular job or other assets to reduce lending risks.

In gambling, you hope to get the promised return (if you win) but assume you can lose your whole investment.

Paid with interest as we agreed on.  All the trolling aside collateral is good if you feel the borrower is new or shady, but not always required.  IT IS UP TO THE LENDER

I did not realize we were a herd in here...

It is the name of something. It's a behavior.

If I want to lend with or without collateral it is my choice... If I get burned feel free to flame me  Tongue

I personally won't, but you might get negative trust from some members of this forum just for doing so, since you are encouraging scammers.

Wow did not realize a tiny loan would cause all this drama  Undecided Escrow is a good thing when dealing with noobies and larger amounts, but this was a micro loan and he seems legit to me.  If I get burned so be it...

The problem is, by giving this loan without security, you are encouraging the scammers to come out of the woodwork. It may be a small amount, but that's how many work. Start small, build and scam. You are actually hurting the process; you are contributing to the ongoing scamming attempts.

"you are encouraging the scammers" That statement is just stupid...lending a person does not encourage scammers...  It is up to the lender if they want collateral or not.

That statement is not stupid, and it makes perfect sense. Lending to someone without collateral will encourage others to do so, since they see that this guy successfully got a loan, and will think they can get one too.
