Hey guys so I'm looking for a new coin to throw about $100-$150 into. It doesn't have to make me super rich but a little bit of a profit would be nice. Anyone have any suggestions?

You need to divide your risk and buy 9-10 altcoin with that money. Altcoin market is so unstable to invest to one altcoin...

Maybe you can try to trade...

I think Gulden (NLG) is the best cryptocurrencie. Great Devs, good community and a little bit undervaluated. so a good opportunity.

I would suggest Ether. It's still under 1$ and devcon is starting next week.

Jeez...a tip that worked. ETH now $2.46.

Look at altcoins ANN section. You will see all of the new coins! Just be cautious! There are a lot of scam coins!

And so how do you tell what is scam and what is genuine (but flawed) and what may succeed?  Someone like me has no experience and can very easily be parted from hard-earned but I do like the idea of supporting a new coin where the coin is genuine.

Doge coin is now on the run, ethereum is a strong coin so is dash but if you want more detailed analysis coinmarketcap and yobit is the best place to be,of course bitcoin should be your priority they are on the rebound and  will a big rise in value this year, try valorbit also a newly launch coin you can get a rewards from their premine, just linked it to your social account..

And let's add that in some cases instead of finding a simple scam coin you could find even a virus inside the wallet so not only somebody could only lose the money they wanted to invest but all the money plus personal data that could be used in some black market

Look very closely at this link and decide for yourself http://aboutshadow.com/ It's seriously one of the most amazing projects since BTC and going for a user base BTC can not fill if it wants to become mainstream, 99% of other coins no matter how innovative will fail because their innovations can be rolled back into BTC this is not one of those coins, BTC can not do what SDC is doing and become mainstream at the same time, so you have a huge potential for growth.

I like Gambitcoin. Buy Gambitcoin. By the way I'm launching a new coin.

Personally I like alts that have a limited total supply. I think a limited supply cap helps build value long term but maybe thats just me.

Well, if you ask 10 people you will probably get 10 different answers of which coin is worth to invest in. You need to do research on your own. There is no holy grale to predict promising coins.

Look at the coins with interesting & ongoing development  (most of them are in a slump atm) OR study how new alt coins cycle otherwise you will be parted from your BTC

Like you mentioned, 50% of newly launched coins will be dead. So investing it is risky and there is 50% of chance you will lose your money. Yes , you can say there are still 50% of chance to earn money. IMO Why not invest the under valued coins mentioned above. They have all of the underlying innovative features to support. As an investors, if he holds his coins, he wouldn't lose any money.
