Coming from a Free Open Source background my take is more along the lines of hey if you have those skills maybe what you are really after is not some kind of paid job at all, since it seems like you well ought to be able to operate very independently.

Your skillset seems basically to add up to "marketing", which is something Free Open Source projects often lack yet could often use far more than they think they could.

Because it all seems to me to add up to "marketing" I do not feel as some prior responses have that you are not focusing enough on a specific kind of position, since to me it all seems to be something along the lines of a general marketing department kind of thing.

I could easily see you having a media empire as it were of your own, maybe mailing lists, a forum, IRC discord telegram etc (chat) channels, maybe even darknet rabbit-holes offering insider deep dives into things worth adopting while it is still "early" and so on and so on and be looking for projects so good they are worthy of being brought to the attention of your audiences.

But another part of coming from a Free Open Source background is a tendency to say "you don't need a project's permission, go ahead and promote whichever you feel is good enough to spend your audience's attention on".

Nowadays with the whole tokens and coins thing you can take care of financials just by making sure to pick up the project's tokens while they are cheap compared to how valuable you know your awesome marketing skills are going to cause them to be once you get into them...

I have noticed and see the contradiction you mentioned. Hiring young workers with a stipulation for having a lot of experience is tantamount to a very high mountain to climb for the uninitiated. I also do not see anything wrong with someone trying to gain experience to add to a portfolio whilst offering free services but if the claims in the bio are to a very high level then one would question why he would do that.

Given the manner in which he mentioned he is working on a project via this forum, the timing could be interpreted as suspect and the whole premise of the OP also could be called in to question but that is a different matter.

Most often, I see companies looking for young workers with a lot of experience. Quite contradictory, isn't it?
I don't see anything wrong if someone wants to gain experience for a future portfolio and at the same time offers his services for free. Given that the OP also accepts work on shit meme coins, his previous experience may be related to some failed 'projects' that are not really for presenting himself as a part of it.

A Bitcoiner chooses. A slave obeys.
Thanks for your input, sir.
I will stay a free agent until I get a better offer.
Financial reward is one of my drives, but it's not the only thing that moves me.
everything being equal as time goes I will follow where I am being paid more
Wait, so unless you get another job request at the same time, which is offering you money, you will work for free?
That sounds honorable maybe to you, but people will just abuse that to get free work from a experienced worker like you. Why offer them the free option in the first place?

Don't by shy about asking for money.

These were my sentiments too. Looking for paid work would have been the appropriate step for the OP simply because of the details he claimed in his bio. The offer his services for free under rationale of trying to increase experience and connections (so as to learn more) seems as though he is selling himself extremely short on the basis of his bio.

To offer his services for free under the rationale of trying to increase experience and connections (so as to learn more) seems as though he is selling himself extremely short (on the basis of what he claims in his bio).

He did not of course present any evidence he can do any of the works that he claimed therefore there is no way to verify his claims and that does not help his case either. Having said that he now claims to have found a job through the forum but being highly sceptical by nature I am not totally convinced by what is being claimed by the OP. The obvious thought that comes to mind is the thread was created with the intent to post a few months later to promote a project that is/was already his and was complete or near completion.

Maybe the reality is something else but that is what my instinct is telling me.

If everything from your bio that you mentioned in your OP is true and you can prove it, then I don't see why you would be looking for free work and not get paid for the services you can render. You claim to have been a community manager for 4 different projects. You have several years of experience managing social media communities. You can write articles, PRs, technical guides, etc. If I were you, I would look for paid work, freelancing opportunities, etc. That is, of course, if you can do everything you claim you can and you have the needed quality.

Maybe trying to make new wave over here to be more trusted as I see forums mostly work with trust. So maybe he decided to build up lines over to get more projects attracted to his good deeds.

I think he has the knowledge of all these skills but may not specialize in one niche. For a successful person, one only need to master one skill and become proficient in it. In my experience, those who have different skills, you won't get the same results from them as compared to a person who is specialized in one niche.

Some employers won't even consider resumes which offering different types of services.  I think OP needs to understand himself and offer only a single service in which he is at his best.

If you can do all this why you are degrading yourself by offering your service for free you can post that you are ok with small rewards depending on the budget of the project.
Will you not think badly when you are invited to a project and those who can do less than you do are getting rewarded you cannot argue because you're the one who offer to get it for free.
Even the apprentice receives a compensation.

Anyway, it's your call just my opinion and good luck to you, and whoever gets your service is lucky to have your service free.

I need such guidelines as well, I tend to offer my services for free most times all at the expense of building a portfolio and gaining more experience. Getting paid for a task no matter how little is another satisfying moment of its own, the moment you get that credit alert, you feel some kind of chill down your throat and you get the notion that your work is valued and accepted.

Hello!
I'm about 2 years in on building out a multiplayer FPS game in Unity, and I wanted to include some web3 elements into it that go a little beyond what I've seen others do.

I'm integrating Holochain to actually log some of the profile information such as match wins, kill/death ratio, account experience and such. So rather than just using tokens and NFTs this game can be a pretty cool example of how web 3 can actually help. By writing some of that information to Holochain we're cutting out a lot of common data packet replay attack concerns normal games would have to harden against so it not only has a use, but a more efficient use than traditional methods.
I also want to mint NFTs on the same chain to be used as skins in game as well. My process for that would be : Account creation for the game uses discord -> link wallet in the server discord -> get a NFT, open a NFT ticket in discord with your NFT token information in it -> Discord bot sends an in game voucher code to redeem for mentioned item

On our end, our hApp on holochain would notify us when that NFT moves wallets, any in game admin can use the already built admin panel to remove that item from the users in game with 2 clicks. The plan will be to automate the removal in the future too.

I know solidity programming and have been a hobbyist unity developer of upwards of 12 years helping on various indie projects myself. I really don't know a single thing about networking crypto to people, building a community and hype, planning for an ICO, really any of the stuff that's going into the community aspect of this.

This entire game is being built by myself and one friend, this is the first project we're actually starting our own rather than helping on others and have a revenue split in place between the two of us, he's on board to change that up if you'd be interested in helping us build this into an awesome community.

I'd love to give you some more details and talk to you more about the project, if you want to reach out on Discord my name is: the.garbage

Hi!

That's a bag of talent and experience right there.

i don't understand some of what you are saying but I feel like you know what you are saying.

i do understand the part where it says building a community around a crypto project with a use case.

here is my telegram @asonganyiD
just in case you see this before I see you on discord.

Eloncoin.org - Mars, here we come!
Your services are of different niches but I am sure many projects will flock towards you because you are free. That is one less expense for them.

But by the time you decide you want to get paid in exchange of your services (and you really should), you would want to apply only with a specific niche. Many projects are just looking for one position so it would make sense if you chose the one you do best or the one they are looking for.

Still it’s good that your experience goes this far. There are now more chances of you finding a project. Good luck!

I don't think anyone degrades himself if he or she offers his services free of cost. It can help to build the portfolio and also the person may get permanent work from the employers whom he worked for free, in case he likes his work. Also, we know that competition is high in many niches and therefore new people find it hard to get their first project and hence they do not have a portfolio, so this strategy can be a win to win situation for both the employee and employer.

After you get onboarded on a new project and you think you have enough portfolio, and you are to quote a price for your service, be sure to lock this thread and change the title you cannot have one thread that offers free service and another one with a quote on your service.
I read that one bounty manager is interested in your free service this is your time to show your skills, and a chance to move from offering free service to paying service, so Goodluck.

Another thing for you to do is to make a proper portfolio for yourself, better is to build your own portfolio website mentioning your skills, experience, projects and contact.

So anyway, I applied as a merit source :)
Lets look at the posting gaps in your history.

This thread was created on May 26, 2024

Before this your last post was on February 02, 2023 and that was making an ANN for UBET
Before that your post was on February 19, 2022 - another year long post gap.

Prior to that your post was for MTT on December 18, 2021 - another year long post gap.

I understand that you come to this forum just to post these ANNs on behalf of these companies to get some money. But if your objective is to earn from this forum you should be more active and participate in discussions.

Dont you think it looks bad when people are discussing things on a forum, and you just dumping your crap once a year in the middle of it and leaving?

no one will hire you if you are like this because project development requires focus, and you can't just leave when you get a good offer from somewhere else. you have to put what your fees are, otherwise the projects that want to recruit you will be suspicious of why you are providing your services for free, because nothing is free in this world. i understand that your intentions are good, but if we think that our intentions are good, other people may not think so, and instead accuse you of just playing around and not being serious about your work.

Let's get something straight here, do you mean you will work for free for only sometime, before you start charging something for your services? Because if you say you will stay as a free agent until you get a better offer, how are you going to get a better offer when you are open to work for free, nobody is going to offer you any paid service, and all you'll be getting is options of free services.
