Yeah but all your gear sucks juice like a mofo.

  antminer s-1 360 watts for 180gh

times 3 = 1080 watts for 540gh

   24 x 1080 =  26 k watts a day

so you save 3 k watts a day

and pump your hash to  540gh from 221 gh.

your cost is around 4.2 btc - 4.35 btc   that is  3059 usd at the current price of 696 usd a coin.

so buy the 3 antminers put all your other gear up for sale on ebay offer a good price make some one happy on ebay.  nuff said. no other decent move if you want to mine.

Hi Philipma1957.  That makes cents.  I just needed someone to put it into perspective for me.  Thanks.

I went through this stage last July.

I buy I mine I sell the gear at a good price.

The 2.9 btc I paid for the 2 antminters was about 2200 usd just about 1100 an antminer.  They come the end of the week.

I will hold them and mine them for 3 -6 weeks always looking at ebay and always looking for a new piece of mining gear.

Asic Miner may put out some 7gh usb sticks in a month to 2 months I follow that thread.

My move may be 2x antminer s-1 sell them off Late march  and buy a lot of asic miner 7gh sticks. In April.

these chips are killer:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.4819314

they could make a 6-9gh  usb stick the size of your .333 gh stick

20x the hash same size same power

Hi LaudaM.  You're correct.  I could sell the PC equip.  But I usually don't.  I've been building my own PC's since the late '80s & I usually donate that when I upgrade to something better to some poor soul in my family or friend or less fortunate.  I don't bother selling my PC equip since I could never recover not even 60% of the initial costs. It's a bit disappointing but the donation of my PC equipment usually gives me more satisfaction from my previous dozen or so experiences

If I'm still able to find newbies like myself down the line which are interested in purchasing my old equip that would be great. (Not holding my breath).  After all look at me.  I just got into mining bitcoin & as a starting point bought someone else's old crap just as a learning experience.  I'm sure I'm not the only one that fits this model.  Even at a miserable 221Gh/s & 29kw a day in utility costs I still somehow find this gratifying stuff.  Crazy, eh?

But in hopes of just breaking even or making a few extra dollars, ( the sucker not millions of $$$ some dream of), using the current gigahashers or the later terahasher I plan on getting the faster mining hardware is the route I am looking to take & then hopefully looking to sell the mining equip. for whatever $$$ I can get down the line to upgrade to newer & faster hashers, hopefully, more efficient hashers than what's current.
Always keep the boxes and sell the cards as new.. and 'voila' most of our money is back. You will earn much more by buying hardware to mine scrypt coins.

Hi LaudaM. I appreciate your response on this matter.

I think I'm a bit too far in to commence purchasing PC hardware. I currently am mining LTC with my MSI R9 280X but, that's as far as I go with that considering the fact that I've gotten over $3K in dedicated bitcoin mining hardware.  I'm gigahashing with block erupters & 1 larger miner & am looking to get away from small low performing hasher's.
You must realize that after your bitcoin hardware stops earning money, it will be useless, garbage if you prefer. You can sell it for $0.
On the other hand you can always sell your computer hardware.

...how I now know this.  It started innocently enough.  First two 333Mh/s block erupters plugged into existing USB ports, then nine 333Mh/s later.  ...and if that wasn't enough Hey!!! let me try one of them Ice Fury, then hey!!!, an Avalon on eBay (sucker).  Sucker, not really.  I'm enjoying this stuff.  Learning Linux because of this through the Raspberry Pi i have.  Cool stuff.  Geekin out.

in fact I will start you off I will buy the ice fury's from you.

 I like them.

just pm me with a realistic number if you are usa based I will consider the number and buy them if it is a decent number.

antminer u-1 sticks get an easy 2 gh.  ice furies get 2.5gh .

A new ant miner stick is .044

at .06 an ice fury  would need to mine at 2.67 to equal the value of an antminer  that cost .044 and mines 2.0 .

So .06 is fair price for one ice fury.

that would  be .18 for 3 of them. I'd would pay a little more then that but not much more.

Are you sure you don't want to buy 5 BTC and hold it?  You'll need to get 500 GH/sec today for that much money to make more.

'The right to privacy matters'
Hi everyone.  Newbie here.  Looking to buy a decent mining rig with a positive ROI here in the U.S.
I have almost $3500K USD Cash to spend on this. I want to get a decent rig already with a good ROI.  I do pay for electricity so that's key. 11cents p/kWh.
I don't want to get something that has parts all over the place. Looking for something with which is already in some type of enclosure like the Avalon 200gh miner that I currently have.
I'd like something that can gen some coin in the next 2-3 months, if possible, not next week. That would be a $10k rig, I think.

I made the mistake of spending $4K already & nothing to show for it, $2800 on one Avalon 200gh 55nm miner, about $1200USD on 9 Asicminer 333mh & 3 Icefury 2.7gh block erupters & 3 BFL Jalapeno 5gh'ers in the last two months. (I'm still learning.)

Everyone is out of stock & I'm becoming inpatient with all this preorder stuff.  I've purchased my first 2 bitcoin since losing on the 3TH Kncminer 2 weeks back their to my banks Wire transfer delays.
I'd like to mine this stuff on my own.

Any advice?

Thanks in advance.

If you want to mine litecoins you can get good rigs that stand a chance to  make money.  where are you that power is 11 cents a k watt?

Also if you are in the usa and want to play this game join coinbase.  you need to be able to move btc around.

Now your avalon is 2800.

an antminer s-1 today is about  1100 you could get 3 for 3300 that is 540 gh.

will you turn a profit who the fuck knows.

I can tell you if you don't have an ability to offload gear on ebay when and if it is out of date you will lose out.

Thanks for the response. However this is what I'm trying to avoid. This is what I already have & not very happy with it.
Don't listen to him. He has no idea what he's talking about.
I've reached ROI on several investments (even though some were made while I was very inexperienced - bought "crap" at "crappy" prices).

Go for an cheap AMD CPU and related Motherboard, the best GPUs would be the Radeon r9 270x.
The ROI time changes constantly. If you're in luck you could ROI in 1-2 months, otherwise give it a maximum 6 month period (if all goes bad).

What I did in my last investment: good Motherboard (over $300), intel i5, 8GB of RAM, an smaller SSD, quality top notch PSU and 6 cards. If all fails, I'm left with a good system (3-way crossfire) and can sell the remaining 3 cards.

well, keep dreaming bro...

seriously, there is no "decent mining rig with a good ROI here in the U.S" or anywhere in the world.

anything on the market with any chances of ROI would be antminers.

check out group buy section. you can get 200gh for 1.35BTC.
