Speculators are going ape shit on a rally. Remember in 2010-11 when speculators blew gold up from $1,050 to over $1,900, then it went right back down to $1,050? When you look at the Bitcoin price think gold 2.0.

Not sure about that, gold has been around & been traded for centuries. Bitcoin is relatively new & has a far, far higher potential for huge growth than gold.

Such analysts as BKCM CEO Brian Kelly attribute the recent upward trend of Bitcoin price to the re-examination of the Winklevoss twins’ Bitcoin ETF COIN proposal. While Kelly emphasized that the probability of the US Securities Exchange Commission approving a Bitcoin ETF in the near future is quite low, investors are quite optimistic in regard to the situation.

I don't know if that matters, I doubt anyone keeps up with that. No one expects the SEC to change their mind which makes it irrelevent to pay attention to.

Billionaires like Elon Musk and Mark Novogratz coming out in support of bitcoin could be the real reasons for the ATH.

The remarkable thing is that at the same time, bitcoin reaches an ATL in crypto currency market share:

Bitcoin has not made a real new ATH until Bitstamp price breaks $1350 to confirm.

I don't think the Bitcoin ETF has any major effect on Bitcoin prices.
ETF news has always some influence. Investors are pleased that SEC is giving ETF another shot so soon. It might mean something.
Do you remember how BTC price was skyrocketing the day before previous 'final date' of Coin ETF evaluation?
We have similar situation now.

Looks like it could have influence the price of bitcoin right now. I remember the Coin ETF back in March and we have this kind of situation before. In anticipating of the ETF approval?(rejection) the price of bitcoin rose to set ATH that time. Maybe we are also having the same effect. But excuse my ignorance, I don't know when will the SEC release their decision for their second review?

Money often costs too much.
Its looks like we have set another ATH for this year:

Bitcoin price surpassed its previous all-time high to achieve $1,377 across major Bitcoin exchanges in Japan and the US, including Bitstamp and Bitflyer.

I was more freaking out about $ 1337 but that's just me, markets moved further Cheesy

The personality type of those investors you are mentioning, well they are "vulture optimistical". Remember that guy who bought in state debt'n'liabilities in south amerika.

Whatever were this goes, I'll just enjoy the moment for reaching this all time high for bitcoin. We all now what will happen next if we see this kind of price, but I will just keep it myself coz I don't want to jinx it right now.  Wink 2017 is truly the year for bitcoin and the crypto-currency world.

Bitcoin prices can not be separated from good/bad news which leads to speculation, recent increase may caused by legalization of bitcoin in Japan and SEC order to review ETF rejection. But ATH means another crash is imminent after ETF get rejected again or if big whales start to cash out their investment. Whatever it is, we need more loyal adopters which support bitcoin as real digital currency or at least precious commodity to save for long term.

I dont really know how to react for such a news, it might be a really good thing that we have printed new all-time high, but also that might be a bad sign.

The biggest problem I can see currently, is that the price of bitcoin is really high when the blockchain is still not really ready for something like that. We had many incidents when there was more than 50,000 unconfirmed transaction and the network was simply too slow in confirming them.
It is a very vunerable thing, because making such a big traffic on the network may result that people will stop using bitcoin: you are not going to use the service for sending money, when you have to wait for a week to get your transaction done, right?

i don't think now blockchain can handle 50,000 unconfirmed transaction with fast because every transaction needs too much time to gets confirmed and we need to wait at least in one hours or more. i think if blockchain is ready for big transaction then we can see that it will affect with the price too and i think the price will be increase more high.

It's not an ATH until Bitstamp hits it in my opinion. BTC-E hit a new ATH ($1315), it almost hit a new ATH on Bitstamp but the damn peak at the ETF of $1350 made it miss it by 2 dollars. I think we are going to see a higher price as the bitfinex USDT fear gets cleared out. I think the fear is overblown. If you factor in the actual billions that have came out within the ecosystem, you'll realize this rise is legit and not a side effect of USDT.

For the kind of money that's making the price go up, it's irrelevant.

This just means that whales (and people with a reasonable investment in Bitcoin) will get their transactions through first, which is fine for the way that Bitcoin's purpose is headed.
