I don't think that's a rat either. If that was a rat then KFC wouldn't be that careless by letting the rat tail remained there  Grin
So far I enjoyed eating KFC and found no problem with it yet. So yeah maybe that was done for popularity only - for both sides Undecided

These pictures don't prove that it's a rat or a mouse. Is there fur or organs or leg bones in there? It just looks like a freaky fried piece, it was probably stuck at the bottom of the fryer to produce that tail-like loop.

Everyone's looking for some fame, I think this falls into that category.
Such fishy things are done only for popularity .

I read a short story called Southern Fried Rat as a kid and this has always been a fear of mine hahaha

No decisive comments regards to this news, since I am not sure yet that it is indeed a Rat, Certainly one can easily find out by slicing those fried pieces. However to be honest I feel somewhat uncomfortable after seeing such Rat fried picture, hope that fried pieces is indeed a chicken ones.

I'm glad DNA solved all of this but thank you fast food restaraunts for demonstrating exactly why I either cook my own food or what rather starve or eat a packet of crisps and chocolates on the road. Look as I've said before about the horse meat fraud over here in the UK. If you're actually dumb enough to buy cheap processed meat ( which is what fast food usually is ) you're going to get what's coming to you and honestly? No, I don't have very much sympathy.

These people will happily save up for some stupid plasma television they don't actually need and so on or a nicer car, but they won't pay money for decent food.

Maybe he got the idea when he was reading about the news which a woman that pressed a charge and demanded $100,000 compensation to MacDonalds www.dailycognition.com/index.php/2007/11/19/real-chicken-head-found-in-mcdonalds-happy-meal.html

She went to a MacDonald's with her two children age 6 and 8. She ordered two Happy Meals with chicken for the children and a hamburger with fries for herself. While they were eating the 6-year old was more interested in the slide across the street then in the chicken nuggets which he didn't even touch. So the mother decided she would eat them. She was in for quite a surprise. That's a very obvious chicken head, with the fur on the head. So, do you have any plan to eat fast food today? Make sure what they serve you then and just pray before eat  Cheesy

Haha, he obviously doesn't know what a deep fryer is. The "fried rat" is composed of an oddly shaped chicken breast and a stuck piece of bone that has gone through lazy breading and stuffed into a fryer.
He's just trying to get fame, and really... nobody has the time/guts to pick up a rat, bread it in front of other coworkers and serve it. They get paid minimum after all Cheesy

Even if kfc gets to the bottom of this, they would twist and turn the story because the truth might turn out too expensive for them. There are cctvs, employees, a lot of sources through which information can be gained but if it isn't out yet, its not coming out boys.
Please read the thread before posting. KFC did get to the bottom of this: an independent lab confirmed it's an oddly shaped piece of chicken, not a rat.

Why on earth does it take a laboratory to tell the difference between a rat shaped piece of chicken breast and one rat ?

Lol so someone thinks they got served a rat and they take a bite out of it to make sure? Looking at that photo its a bite.  They could have cut into it with a knife.

Also would expect a ton of rat hair to be in it if it were a rat.  Chickens get plucked, rats dont.

Probably the healthiest meal that burger-eating lard-assed yank has ever eaten (joke btw).

Funny how he still took a bite out of it, looks like he bit off the head.

What's the first thing you do when you are finally handed your order? study the shape or smell everywhere? No, you put it in your mother fucking mouth. The lad did the same thing and spit out when he felt it isn't alright. He wasn't looking for fame, man. If it was, he'd make a big scene out of it. He just filed a report. That's good.

I'd at least give it a quick glance before stuffing my face, cant understand how he couldn't see its shape unless he likes to eat with his eyes closed.

Moral of the story...stop eating fast food.

I read a short story called Southern Fried Rat as a kid and this has always been a fear of mine hahaha

LOS ANGELES, California -
Los Angeles security guard Devorise Dixon claims KFC served him a deep-fried rat, but KFC believes Dixon is deceiving the public.

Dixon said he bought a three-piece box of chicken tenders at a KFC in Los Angeles and found what he said was a deep-fried rat instead.

"It was very nasty. I spit it out. I looked down at my hand and I realized that it was in the shape of a rat with a tail and everything in it," Dixon said.

...After KPRC published this story on click2houston.com, KFC  reached out to KPRC and sent us this official statement:

"A customer has made a serious claim against KFC and refuses to cooperate in the investigation. The images the customer originally posted do not include this second angle because it clearly shows it's a piece of hand-breaded white meat chicken. Based on this, and the fact that he refuses to allow anyone to see the product, we are left to believe that he intended to deceive the public with this hoax and we are considering all options."

Dixon said he went back to the restaurant with photos and his receipt and said the manager "freaked out," apologized and offered him a free meal, which he declined.

Dixon said he is getting a lawyer.

I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be a rat, but on the other hand, this could be just another case of a greedy man trying to score a lawsuit against a multi-million company.

lab test confirms 'deep-fried rat' is actually chicken Cheesy
the guy who was raising a big stink about it all over facebook and threatening to sue over it refuses to comment now and removes any posts asking about it

It would be funny if he got sued for defamation or something.  No idea why he or KFC bothered to send it off for testing. A visual (or a quick taste test if you're feeling brave) would have sorted it.

I wonder how elephant meat might taste, and if it is healthy. But rat meat? Man, that's messed up. There could be more to that too, yknow. What if the rat entered the oven by mistake? Makes us question the cleanliness of the place. Whatever conclusions drive down, if this is really rat meat, KFC might go down real bad.

Lol and I'm curious what he will do after that. He won't get any compensation if he is lose, then got blame by citizen, and maybe can't be accepted to eat in KFC again. The worst thing is, he must pay his lawyer lol. Didn't get money, but must spend his money. I guess he will try harder next time.

American chicken middlemen are sending chickens to China for processing. When the chickens come back, they are labeled in tiny print that they have been processed in China, but most people never see this.

Why is this being done? Two reasons. The first is that it is cheaper to do (a little) than processing the chickens here in America. The second is that food from other countries doesn't need to be labeled with all the ingredients.

What did the guy really get? If it was chicken processed in China, it could have been part rat... or just about anything else, as long as it had a little chicken in it.

Well, here is the outcome of the DNA test lmao on the "rat" -

Quote
Last week the Internet recoiled in horror when a man in California posted a video of what appeared to be a deep-fried rat that had been served to him at a local KFC. However, it seems that KFC got hold of this alleged rodent and ran some DNA tests on it and found that it really was just a piece of chicken that happened to be oddly rat-shaped.

KFC tells ABC News that last week “the customer’s attorney turned over the product in question for testing at an independent lab, and the results officially confirmed what KFC knew all along — the product was chicken and not a rat as he claimed.”
