I smell cap(lies) on this one because someone earlier has sadi that OP should share his/her story but I've checked the whole thread and OP hasn't replied to this thread and I think that he should probably know how that he/she should've started sharing at his/her post. I don't know what they get from lying but it seems to me that there's a prevalence of that in the forum right now.

10 BTC is a huge chunk to lose within 3 months, but that's the risk attached to trading.

I agree.

Looks like OP enter huge trade with high leverage to get easy big profits even in small fluctuations. Maybe he got also greedy that he forgot to take profits along the way, or he didn't have any risk management therefore he just randomly traded any amount he wants hoping he could make an easy money over those 3 months. Trading won't always go with our plan, good to know OP that you're back again and I hope you'll gain that 10BTC back.

I have been trading since 2017 and ride a lot in crypto and forex rollercoaster. I earned my fortune in 2020 bull run and lost everything.

I am here to share this bcaz, i get out of that depression frustration and misery.
I have again starting trading and came here to share my past and get some valuable knowledge from fellow traders.

thank you/ dhanyawaad for reading my post.
this is why we are encouraged to use money that is not so important for our lives, and be ready to accept the risks of trading. well, maybe trading with large capital will make us get big profits too. Unfortunately, this is directly proportional to the risks that can be obtained. in feb to may, bitcoin prices are still quite high, and anyone who loses 10 BTC is likely to be stressed and depressed. however, it is one of the paths to success. if you start again, try not to take too much of a risk.

Maybe just a fictional story or I don't know, because there is no further clarity about the OP's story.

Losing 10BTC in the crypto market certainly doesn't make sense if he only trades on the Spot.
But if he trades in Futures Mode it will definitely happen. anything will be lost in an instant if you can't trade futures.

10BTC is a large number and the OP is also not clear on the chronology, maybe he just wants to enliven the forum with random posts made.
The last time the user posted on the forum was August 18 2018, he decided to post on the forum again after 4 year's, and he is claiming he lost 10 bitcoin, since the user made the post, I notice the account have not been active anymore, maybe after another four year's the user will come online and make another post and he will go offline again. Since the user can't provide more details then I don't believe his story. As taufik123 said it's not really easy to lose that kind of money in spot trading, I know if its future trading you can easily get liquidated, if the story is true maybe the user was trading shit coins and I don't think a reasonable person will invest 10 bitcoin in shit coin.

Losing 10 bitcoins in a few months is obviously not okay and it's fair to say you're frustrated because this is a pretty big loss.
I have again starting trading and came here to share my past and get some valuable knowledge from fellow traders.
But looking at the quote you've made here it looks like you've managed to get over your frustration and it's definitely a good thing. The experience of losses and the feeling of frustration at the losses that have already occurred can be a good lesson now and of course you already know by now the consequences when you start trading again.

Another fierce mistake most people do while trading or investing on bitcoin is that they got carried away whenever there's a bullrun, thinking that the all time high in price will maintain that same high and keep increasing which is obviously not it at all, bit i can still define such as not been experienced enough to have studied the volatility nature, there are many strategies use to cut cost, loss and take the gain, just as simple as knowing when to set in and pull out, also some got engaged into altcoins as well, forgetting the mere volatile can cost the other crypto to fail.

10BTC is a large number and the OP is also not clear on the chronology, maybe he just wants to enliven the forum with random posts made.
This thread has gone through several pages trying to link some speculative over 10 BTC losses since the OP left, so without any information from the OP on the facts of the loss then the only correct answer is just advice to keep him alive.

Because no facts have been revealed about the loss of 10 BTC, so I think about a few things related to the loss case:
- If he holds 10 Bitcoins then it is still worth 10 Bitcoins till now, so this option is impossible.
- Based on the range from February to May the highest risk of loss from crashing Luna coins.
- Trading on Futures
- Invest in NFT.
- worst mistake, invest in shitcoin.

Am I the only one doubting the OP post, Everybody have been asking how he lost the money but he is not saying anything, I don't believe his story because he should have shared more information on how he lost the bitcon, at least it will have helped other members of the forum but he is not saying anything, the story might be true, but since the OP can provide detailed information on how he lost the bitcoin then its suspicious and the story might not also be true.

You are being very brave, there are many people that refuse to share the stories of their failures because they are afraid that someone else is going to make fun of them, however I have always thought that such a thing is necessary because newbies believe that the only thing that is expecting them in this market is success because those are the only stories they read, not understanding there is a huge bias and that people refuse to share the stories of their failures, so it will be nice if you could be more specific about how this happened to you so newbies understand that losing all your money is a real risk in this market.

Everything in life is an opportunity and we need to grab it as it last. You have really passed through a lots and I am happy that you have get on your feet back not minding how much you have list so far. The crypto market can be unpredictable at times that is why we just needed to be very prepared for the worse in case things go through the direction we will never like.

Stand on your feet and keep trying because I know that the strong never give up on things like this. Everybody do make loses and what keeps us going is the date we have in ourselves to keep pushing even though we the road looks rough.

My advice would be to stop ‘trading.

When I say that, I mean you should be buying a HODLING for many years. It’s the only sure fire way to guarantee profit, very handsome profit too. Actively buying & selling, buying back & selling, back & forth is the best way to become broke. Nobody can control the markets movements so buy regularly & HODL.

Forget about ‘trading’.

Trading might not be good for him at the moment but for the experience he got maybe he will get more learnings on it. And I think what's best for now is he need to be more consistent on learning more things about other strategies on trading because this could upgrade his skills. But I don't suggest him to buy and hodl especially if his patience is so low and he really need to understand how to do trades to exercise all things and he can do long term hodling without getting bothered by fuds.

How did you exactly lost everything? I mean every one of us is down a certain percentage in this bearish time but only a few who were really foolish in their approach are out of the market. Either you might have done hyper active leverage trading or you must have done some crazy investment in LUNA or some NFT which maybe isn't worth a penny now. But I think you should not feel disheartened with this, if the money you made was out of your trading skill it will come back again in the next bull run you just have to be patient enough to wait for another one and keep harnessing your skill till then.

Don't trade OP, you better just hold whatever you've got right now and for adding more, you just purchase it.

I want to say that if you've got out of frustration and probably depression since it's a huge amount. I commend you with that, it's one of the hardest battle that you've faced and you overcame it.

I'm sure that you've learned a lot of lessons from the mistake you've made. I admire you because it's not that easy to come out of that problem and you have to become stronger this time around.

Here are some tips for those who want to avoid big loss in crypto
1) Invest what you can afford to loose. Then only you can trade with clam mind and make right decisions.

Maybe he was investing what he could afford to lose but earning 10BTC and then losing it is painful. You're losing all the time dedicated to earning that money. It's like you wasted all those years.
Losing what you can afford to lose doesn't change much. I could afford to lose all my bitcoins because my lifestyle wouldn't change if I had 0 but I'd get into depression knowing I could have 5 apartments for that and it's all gone.

Quote
2) Diversify the investment in multiple coins.

No. Don't buy shitcoins! Buying a coin that will go down if bitcoin goes down is not diversifying.

Why not stop when you realize you are losing more than winning a trade? am sure you didn't just lose all 10 btc at once. As a trader it is important to know when to stop, 10 btc is a huge amount and engaging in trade when you are not very knowledgeable about it is a bad move and always ends up in loss.
Better to take a break and go learn about trading some more before engaging in more trades, hopefully, you will be able to recover some part of your funds if not all.

The amount is not important, you were able to put 1000 btc and the news does not get more incredible from the point of view of what should be done, although for others it will surely be Woao!

That is to say, if you change the 1000 btc for a 1 satochi it does not matter, it is losses, the emotional factor should not dominate you... maybe let's say it is important for those who say woao!, but not for those who are making investments or putting money at risk.

The majority who lose any amount always end up thinking, what did I do wrong? Well, really, if you are an advanced user, you don't start with that idea, maybe it is something normal that happens, that's why they are called risky investments, what you have to know is that if you lose 10 BTC it is because you have at minus 100x that amount, but it's never the last bullet.

You have to be careful, even for the most experienced there are always downswing phases and even lucidity can be lost in seconds and mistakes can be made, but the risk factor of losses is covered with the mentioned factor, it is such a fucking simple rule but you gives longevity in any area of investment.

Hot damn. That is a lot of money. It's clearly a huge loss no matter what your financial standing is and it's good to see people like snap out of your depression and move forward which is something not everyone can do.

Best tip that I can share with you is go all-in only on reliable cryptocurrencies like BTC, LTC etc and retrieve profits in the long-term instead of quick short-term gains.

Only invest when you feel completely confident that these cryptocurrencies are at a low point.
