Anyway I'm at a loss. Any cool ideas I'll try them out for the benefit of the electrum community.

Well, if you think you may have made a mistake in recording your seed, you can give seedrecover a try (it's part of btcrecover): https://github.com/gurnec/btcrecover/blob/master/docs/Seedrecover_Quick_Start_Guide.md#seedrecoverpy

It's an open source seed recovery tool; it requires that you have a good estimate of what your seed is, and also that you know either your master public key, or an address generated from your wallet (preferably one that was generated shortly after your wallet's creation).

OK, will give this a bash and see how it goes. Thanks.

Share the seed with someone trustworthy and see if they can recover the funds.  Up to you if you tip them for recovery...

Of course, there would be a tip for that!

(3) No, it was a 'spend on vpn' type wallet. Hence the low amount.

What is a "spend on vpn" type wallet?

A wallet I could afford to lose and not throw myself off a bridge  Grin

this is obvious but ... did you create the address 14HXNqSefPtNfDyHtfeMv1Hngx3W5JfgW6 with Electrum or imported private keys from somewhere else into electrum? you can't recover imported addresses with seed.

do this instead:
if you still have a back up from your old wallet file (not the seed) you can restore it in previous version of Electrum.

I didn't create the address. I am almost certain it is a change address. I assumed the seed would keep the address. My bad. But no worries. We are all learning here. Though I am no longer using electrum anymore. It's too twitchy for a normal user.

I am happy to try a few things if it helps the community. The money is not an issue for me, but may help another user.

The Bitcoin has not moved so it's just sort of there.

1. which version of Electrum did you use to create your wallet?
2. which version of Electrum did you use to 'restore' your wallet?
3. Are you sure that you did not import a private key in your wallet?
4. did you ever modify the "gap limit"?

Please answer accurately. we cannot help you if you do not provide accurate and precise information.

Thanks: (1) Not sure, I was updating as normal.
(2) Current.

(4) No.

So I am just not sure. Sorry for the direct answers, but no basically that is the progression. I am at a loss honestly and just assume it's lost now.

the number of "change" addresses was increased in version 2.3
you might be unable to see some of your change addresses if you downgraded to an earlier version, after using 2.3
please make sure you use the latest version

Hello all,

updated to new Electrum. Then did the usual. Reseeded (Windows).

However, I no longer have access to this address - possibly a change address - http://106.187.103.143/address/14HXNqSefPtNfDyHtfeMv1Hngx3W5JfgW6

Any tips on how to recover? The Bitcoin came from Bittrex (I am almost certain) so not sure whether I can look there.

Hopefully there's some tricks. My seed is not helping. Nothing coming up on it at all. Possibly just lost, but worth a shot.

this is my problem :  https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/address-is-gone-1090800

if you have the same problem, then something is going VERY wrong. please confirm. i keep thinking i did something wrong, but if you are having that problem too then there is something wrong with the new electrum version

Nope, I see nothing. I was using the previous version just prior. Could be a general screw-up, but confusing as I kept my seed safe.

Is it synced properly? Last time when I did this, it took some time for electrum to show all transactions.
Click on that green button and manually select some other server, also please check your seed once again and make sure there's no extra space etc.

Thanks, that could be it. By extra space I presume you mean at the end?

Yes at the end.

Well fingers crossed. Let's see how it goes.
