For some of us who are just starting to explore the very depths of this forum. I think it's time to update the pinned thread for rules in Games and Boards or Sub forum of Gambling Section. Like what are the Allowed Gambling Games for the particular Board... or There should be a Bitcoin logo- Icon beside the Subject of the post so it would be clear that Discussion will just be for Bitcoin Only no Alternatives...

apologies for my comment.. It's just my Opinion...

As long as the prize is in Bitcoin, it's allowed on the Games and rounds board.
And if the reward is given at altcoins like ETH ot LTC, is this unacceptable?

It's against the rule no 15 of the forum.

15. No on-forum altcoin giveaways. [6][e]

15.

Most giveaway threads are no longer allowed in the Alternate cryptocurrencies sections. From now on, posting or replying to such threads could result in being banned.

The ones who don't follow that rule can get banned. As LoyceMobile said that there have been some members who were banned only because they ran or joined altcoin giveaways. Even if someone reply's to altcoin giveaway could face a ban, and that's why the reward should be in Bitcoin only.

People have been banned for running or joining on-forum altcoin giveaways. I even created a topic trying to update the rules to allow giveaways for established altcoins, but it wasn't changed.

Since you are proposing a different lottery from the one that OP wants to organize, I suggest you create your own thread and propose it there. Copy or quote this post of yours and/or add some more information to it. It's not OK to discuss it here because we would have some people talking about your lottery, some talking about OPs', and a third group posting their thoughts about lotteries in general. That leads to too much unnecessary confusion.

I've been an active member of our Bitcoin community for years, and I've had the pleasure of organizing and participating in various lotteries and raffles within our community.

I want to propose an idea for our forum – hosting Bitcoin-based raffles. I firmly believe that these activities are not only legal within our Bitcoin ecosystem but also align perfectly with our principles of decentralization and self-sufficiency.

Here's a brief overview of how it would work: Participants can purchase raffle tickets using Bitcoin, with no involvement of the traditional fiat system. For instance, there might be 50 tickets available at 10,000 sats each. Once all tickets are sold, I will select a winning ticket using a Bitcoin block number.

This approach allows us to keep everything within the Bitcoin ecosystem, supporting our community's horizontal growth rather than relying on the traditional capitalist model. I have successfully organized similar lotteries in the past without any legal issues, and I believe this initiative can further strengthen our sense of community and mutual support.

Self-meriting isn't possible on forum but you said that he is giving himself merits. If you're trying to say that he has multiple accounts and he has been meriting himself from his other accounts then that's against the merit system and if you have proof then you should create a thread against in him in proper board.
I don't think that's what he meant. I think he was trying to say that MadHatters was being a smartass, making himself look smart and knowledgeable, and trying to give himself credit for figuring that out. Plus, making it seem like the OP has ulterior motives for wanting to run an on-forum lottery.

I think I misinterpreted his words, and now I got his words and I think he's somewhat right about MadHatters because that guy claimed things without any proof and that's pretty negative and pessimistic. I have noticed that OP is trying to run a lottery program which isn't wrong by any means and if someone merits him with their own consent then that's a deserving merit not anything else.

The users who can't earn merits themselves often come up with thoughts similar to the ones of the MadHatters and in that sense I agree with OP and appreciate the good thinking of OP for offering that lottery program to the members of the forum. Let's see when the OP is going to post his lottery thread so that the members can take part and earn the reward.

Let's try to stay on topic, discussing the best ways to organize and run that lottery of yours. Any accusations against MadHatters or from his side against you are topics for the Reputation and Scam Accusations boards. Going off-topic and talking about it here will result in someone reporting such posts, which could lead to post deletion by the mods or even locking this thread.

You have right, it's wrong of me! It was ironic that a in my eyes a idiot like that started to talk when he is the biggest scammer it seems and giving him self merit. (Just look his history, if you understand you will understand)
But thanks for giving me the right advice and ignore it! I will for now.

And, if we come back to the topic then yes it's possible to launch a lottery on this forum in games and rounds board. I think everyone would love to participate in such lottery thread and the lucky one will get the money. I recommend you to have 3 winners  as first, second, and third because that way more people get rewarded for testing their luck on your thread.

I think it is better to use the prize with escrow to have more validity
I see no reason to include an escrow in this situation and also pay for their involvement. You won't be working for the OP or offer him your services in a way where you could get scammed. You will be predicting the results of football matches.

@BabyBandit
You should consider introducing several rules when the time comes to start your lottery.
You might be interested in doing a nice thing, but believe me there will be many trying to cheat and take advantage of the situation. The rules should say, for example, that participants must have a minimum of 50 posts to play. No new accounts registered after the creation of this topic. No alt accounts. No post editing once the posts have been made, and stuff like that. After all, you don't want to give cheaters increased odds to win the reward.

Yes, but most lottery only serves to deceive and obtain merits.

You have to be a little more legal, right =)

It's funny that you speak about legal, I speak about giving away free BTC for football lottery, at the same time you steal money from honest people and giving yourself merits.
I wanted to be nice to the people, you steal from the people. and I will for sure  have a lottery here without you in it, just sit back and watch.
It only takes 5 minutes to read your posts that you're a scammer, you littery offer EVERYTHING people need on this forum.

Come on guys, read his posts, he's feedback, he also is accused of being someone else that scammed... and you know the funny part?
They type and act EXACT same way.

Look at his reply here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.62498489
So he is in a lottery where he got free merits on a website he does not know, but then he sign up and get them from two other accuastons, but the funny thing' he DON'T WANT THE MERITS.. But still sign up???
At the same time he found out the othe guy was a scammer...  Huh Huh - I can't find the topic of when he getting accused of being a multi-alt of another scammer, but for your pro's you can find it under "Reputation"

Your nothing then a BIG BIG liar and scammer without an real income. GTFO

I am not a frequent visitor of the Games & Rounds board so I can't comment on that. But I doubt we can say that most lotteries have such intentions. If that was the case, then you shouldn't have problems finding 10 such threads on page 1 and 2 where the users pretended to give something away only to receive merits.

You have to be a little more legal, right =)
I guess you were trying to say genuine.

Maybe it's totally illegal and can be read somewhere, but this forum is like IKEA. Impossible to find anything!  Smiley
So maybe some kind soul could inform me fast how it works. I would really appreciate it.

-snip-

Heresy!

Nah, in fact, with the App you can find any item easily in Ikea, so in that sense this forum is worse than Ikea. The beautiful part of it is that you can find many interesting topics while you search for certain thread (with the risk of never finding it).

Hi friend.
Yes I understand that since I am new. You have a good point!
But I won't offer anything in return, for example. Bet right on what team that gonna win and create the most goals in two games, the closest on win if nobody has a 100% strike right.  Smiley
I already saw many similiar services, I just thinked it would be fun to also run one.

Cheers! -BabyBandit-

I think I'm misunderstanding what you mean here, as you mentioned in the OP a prize of 0.001. I guess that what you really mean is that you won't be offering anything specially valuable to be considered "reliable and trustworthy", but in case you are considering not giving a little prize in sats to the winner, take into account that you won't be able to post your Lottery in the mentioned subsection of the forum.

Hi, as topic says. I just wonder. Is it allowed to run a lottery on the forum? That are 100% free for the customers that want to participate.

It's allowed on games and rounds, just as you've been told, it has to be rewarded in bitcoin, but if you're making additional services then try to be specific on them, some could be announced on service board, and if you're making any gambling related offer as well then such is best on the gambling section, you can create a ANN thread for your service discussion, lastly, think about how reliable and trustworthy you will appear to others who will be using your services.

Thanks for the replies guys, I was thinking to have some lottery/competition in some Football game in a short time.  Smiley
I don't know how it gonna be or works, but I think it at least work a try!

You can check different giveaway/competition thread available on the Game and Round board to get an idea. I believe prediction format is what suitable to use for your giveaway since you want to incorporate it on a football game.

Sportsbet giveaways is the leading casino that use this kind of giveaway format. You can copy their format and modify it base on your preference. Just put a disclaimer for the source of original format if you don’t want to modify any of it. You can use this thread https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/sportsbetio-newcastle-southampton-sao-paulo-fri-sat-sun-5466451 as reference. Looking forward to join your giveaway!

As long as the prize is in Bitcoin, it's allowed on the Games and rounds board.

You can host it in Games & Rounds.

By mentioning 0.001, I guess you pay in bitcoin so it is allowed by that board rules.

Giveaways and games that pay out altcoins do NOT belong here

I think something like this that they bet on three Football games. And its who gonna win, how the result will end, and when the first and last score will be.
And the winner get's like 0.001. No ulterior motives or anything like that, no need to sign up at anything or post anything! Just something fun to get people come closer each other!
