Hehehe...I always smile in unbelief when I read that exercise can help in addition and some other things. Maybe not for me as I do not see how this can be of help, to be honest. Fine, exercise is good for so many things, but for the things that have to do with people's minds and psychology, I think it can do little or nothing here. Gambling is beyond all that, especially when the gambler has now taken it as a hobby or is addicted to it, it takes more psychological functions and routines for this to be let go.

This is not about you seeing professional players doing it, there are a lot of reasons for that, and when it comes to regular people, even those who are consistent with exercise as what they like as a hobby are still addicted to gambling. What about that? I believe that they will link this to some kind of muscle relaxation and all that, but in practice, to cure anything mental is beyond that. If this is so true and cureable as they make people believe, I guess by now most of the people who are gambling with addiction would have been cured. It will even be easy.
Sports activities can increase self-relaxation and divert thoughts that focus on gambling. Basically, exercise focuses on fitness and health in physical conditions but also has an effect on psychological factors, although the benefits are not directly at the point of healing from gambling addiction. When you exercise discipline, you will feel changes in your health and relaxation which will help heal stress and your lifestyle will be more regular.

But I have to admit that exercise is not the point of curing gambling addiction, but at least some cases of gamblers who are addicted can be recovered by increasing outside activities such as exercise or other activities that are useful for calming the mind. However, complete recovery from gambling addiction depends on the will of the gambler and they must be disciplined in therapy.
Well said, my friend and I do not argue that physical exercise is not profitable, and as a matter of fact, we should engage in it at least two times a day if we have the time. This could, of course, alert our muscles and in turn, relieve them after the exercise and causes us to feel some kind of true bodily relief, healthier and self believe blah blah blah. But helping those who are addicted to gambling? I think it can do a little, that is if the addicted will even feel the difference after exercising. This thing we call psychology and the function of the mind takes mental power to overcome it, the Will and the Determination from where it got corrupted from the beginning (the source). You tackle the source and you will be healed. I wonder if it is easy like that why people are still addicted.

What exercise could do in my view is to try to get you engaged and take your mind off for some time for that moment and a few moments later. What happens after then, won't the person return back? This is not different from you engaging in other things and changing hobbies just to while away the time till you will think of that thing you are addicted to no more. This again is challenging but more effective than exercise. Many would try it and not succeed, but truly, if they could have an alternative and could do it successfully until they do not think of gambling again, it would help them better. However, the Will and Determination to do it are mostly needed.

It's true, if they want a gambling game but don't want to lose money they can do it with slot-based gambling, although the sensation is different but at least that's slot gambling, because slot gambling also provides a limited budget but even though it can be restarted by itself when it runs out but if we consider it real money then maybe it doesn't feel much different from real gambling. well that's a plus for me, with me playing demo-based gambling there I will get bored faster, so that makes me want to do other things that are more exciting like playing online games that can be played with my friends.

It's true that demo-based gambling also depends on the people who play it, if they really can't avoid their desire to gamble with real money maybe they won't feel at home with demo-based gambling. anyway, the demo gambling that is played in my opinion can still replace their desire to gamble, even though the sensation is different, but if they are satisfied with demo-based gambling then that's not a bad thing.
However, many people lose a lot of money from playing slots because they forget to stop gambling and cannot control themselves because they have discovered the joy of playing slots. But slot games offer a demo mode that gamblers can use to play slots so that they don't have to use real money, especially if they are afraid of losing a lot of money playing those slots. Indeed, when using demo mode, we can quickly feel bored because there is no challenge, especially since it is fake money used or provided by casinos for those who want to experience the sensation of gambling. But playing demo mode can prevent someone from using real money so they won't lose money.

Demo mode slot games can still provide enjoyment in playing slots. At least people can enjoy their free time by playing slots, and even though they place large bets in demo mode, they can still feel safe because no real money is used. But those who have experienced the challenge of using real money do not feel the challenge and will only think that demo mode-based slot games are uncomfortable to play slots with.

That is one way to prevent gambling addiction which is to distract yourself with something much better like exercising. We know that people use gambling as an excuse sometimes a distraction to themselves where they can entertain themselves and forget all their problems, which can worsen their situation by just simply losing more money in the house. Plus sometimes they are not that aware of that addiction cause it's already been part of their lifestyles, unless someone points out that gambling is really bad if overdone. They wouldn't quit for just a day for sure, but they would think about it, and would take time for them to realize that gambling won't do anything good for them. I gambling as well, but I don't think that I can consider myself addicted as I don't think it about all the time maybe rarely when I have the time. It might be the reason of too busy in the world.
Physical exercise is an excellent type of activity if the player does not know what to do other than play. Sometimes it even happens that thanks to a spontaneous decision to play sports, it can switch our brain and we will stop gambling altogether and devote ourselves to a new and useful hobby. Of course, I understand that this will be very rare, but perhaps it will save several destroyed families. I noticed that professional players often play sports or were athletes in the past, probably this helps them achieve results and they draw some analogies to achieve their goals. They have a sense of purpose, but apparently they also have some other qualities that allow them to be more successful than others.

Minimizing the amount of money the gambler is entitled to, can help in curing the gambler. Because if he's mainly redirecting his actions to other activities, then he needs not to gamble one bit. Although, the person would begin to forget his gambling habit gradually while participating in real games like sport, yet his urge to gamble doesn't leave him entirely. If he has money left on him, he'd definitely going to gamble, because his brain still get enticed whenever the gambling thought arrives. So, restricting his cash flow during the healing period, can be effective. A loved one can be handling the money, and buy whatever he, the addict, wants. The goal is to make sure whenever gambling thoughts crosses his minds, he wouldn't game. I noticed that giving any activity that we engage in a break can help us have a rethink of the habit and reevaluate whether we are getting too attached to it or not. An addict, who doesn't gamble for weeks can easily think otherwise of his previous lifestyles.

Yes, I agree with you that exercise can indeed relax our tight minds which may be full of stress so that it will make our minds more relaxed. Just like doing therapy or doing yoga, it can also calm the mind, some psychologists definitely advise someone to do yoga. or therapy so that we can relax our minds so that with this our goal is not only focused on gambling, we can also avoid gambling addiction because with a healthy and relaxed physical condition we can also think intelligently that gambling addiction is a bad thing.

It is true that sport cannot cure gambling addiction directly, but slowly and reducing it little by little by doing sports activities we will be busy with activities and the benefits of sports are not only to avoid addiction but also for health. So it is better to spend time on sports rather than gambling and if you have the intention to quit then spend more time exercising and you will be able to recover slowly.

One of the solutions which is recommended by most gamblers on this forum for gambling addiction is "Therapy" .

This is the most expensive solution for gambling addiction but also the most effective at the same time. Therapy is quite expensive especially if you are from country like US. Maybe this kind of service is cheap in 3rd world country if you will compared it to US rate but it’s still expensive in contrary if you will just control yourself. Don’t pay internet connection for example or have your wife monitor you so that you will not gamble.

I’m expecting this kind of suggestion here when I read the title but the content shows the most expensive method but the best in my opinion if money is not a problem.

A gambler will only do physical exercises or play physical sports if they are willing to stop gambling and get out of their addiction, and even in this case, they need someone to drag them to it because they wouldn't do it themselves and think they should sit and gamble instead. After all, it's what they like doing and have been doing throughout this time. So, when a gambler acknowledges that they need help getting out of their addiction, they can have a friend make them get involved in such activities.

I'm such a sports lover, though I've never been into such a situation, I'm pretty sure that I'm going to do a great job if a friend asks me that I will have to keep them away from gambling and get them involved with sports or some other activity. I will make them play a lot of sports and make them enjoy it as well.

of course it is a good way. Based on the experience of my friend who is an addict who has lost his soul, he is not easy to carry. we have to persuade him and even have to invite him to gamble within a certain limit, but over the last 3 months I have seen him starting to control his gambling. I think there is hope for gambling addicts to recover. but traps are usually people who are already critical. I suggest using a psychiatrist for mild addictions.
There's a few danger associated with mild addiction one of which can be the trigger for the chronic addiction again especially if not under strick supervision, when using this particular method, strict supervision should accompany it else the mild addiction may further grow into a worse case than it was before the introduction of mild addiction.

There's actually hope for every addicted gambler no doubts but you will have to employ different measures to approaching different levels of these addiction because some of these addiction may have peculiar cases that will deserve a different approach to be able to achieve success taming them. Psychiatric approach isn't a bad idea but this should come in handy after it has been proven to be chronic and not for mild cases because that will be a last resort when it's proven that other methods aren't working on the addict anymore.

But lethargy and just staying in one place are too big of an obstacle for gamblers, they cannot turn to physical activities easily when the energy devoted to this work is more than their body can handle, they have not exercised much and with just a few vigorous exercises, they will certainly be lazy in the following days when this is not the motivation they want to attach to. Appeasement requires a persistent impact and awakens the cells' potential, but few people have enough patience, they almost surrender and follow their predetermined fate.

They need to stay away from places where they often gamble and delete all the websites they usually play on. Keep your mind busy, or find another game to forget about gambling. It would be great if there were relatives or friends to support and help them during this period. As long as they have determination, I believe they can do it.

Even though self-exclusion from gambling websites and even from the locations where people typically bet can be simple, I believe it's a useful strategy for avoiding any gambling-related activities. This can assist people who are addicted to gambling in building a barrier and restricting their gaming opportunities, like setting their limits and voluntarily banning themselves from participating in gambling. I agree with the idea that we can seek out or reach out to our family and friends who can provide us with emotional support and understanding, as they are the only ones who can easily discourage us in order for us to stop that kind of habit. (if blood can be thicker than water).

What are the other low cost but very effective solutions to gambling addiction. And typically how long will it take before the addict starts to feel more in control and less withdrawal symptoms?
Will totally appreciate your responses. Thanks.

Taking up alternative activities that can bring us greater happiness and fulfillment than gambling, such as spending time with our loved ones, exercising, or picking up new hobbies that can help us escape from our addiction and unwind, is something else we can think about when trying to overcome our gambling addiction. The reason for this is that if someone's goal is to get over a habit of gambling, they ought to understand the importance of self-care and act responsibly (if they have changed). Actually, it takes a lot of time, so if you want to avoid returning to your pre-gambling addiction state, you should learn how to stop yourself and have patience with yourself.

If the gambler is really ready to stop gambling nif not it will be very hard for him to change his mind even at that routine counseling process. I think in the professional therapy, you don't have to spend money to stop. You can just meet your pastor and tell him that you want to stop gambling and you cannot control it, then he will pray for you and still put you in time frame to counsel you everyday for like one month or plus. And if you really ready to stop everything will go down gradually. Because you don't have to force such things to go, it is part of the mind at that time.

I think many people already know about demo-based gambling, and I think everyone also knows that the sensation of gambling using real money and demo is different, therefore even though they know there is demo-based gambling, they are more likely to want to gamble with real money even if it is a small nominal amount. because yes, it is clear that the sensation is different, especially with slot gambling, which of course is demo-based. Sometimes, if I want to gamble but am reluctant to spend or lose money, I always go for demo-based slot gambling, even though the sensation is different, but I try to enjoy it.

actually, in my opinion, by running into demo gambling, they can do this by forcing themselves to reduce the risk of losing their money, even though the sensation is different, but if they force it maybe it will work, because I have done it myself, where when I want to gamble I deposit money in My savings and I immediately opened demo-based slot gambling to satisfy my desire to gamble. At first it all felt very different and uncomfortable, but with consistency I could get used to it.

Gambling with play money wont help, as it considers gambling as well. Solution to gambling addiction is gambling? Does not make sense. Limiting gambling or not gambling at all - that is the only solution to addiction. All those play money, watching gambling streams, playing low bank and low bets, making time limits and so on and so forth isnt going to work. It will prolong the process but will not help avoid the inevitable.

If it doesn't make sense, why can I do it? by doing things like this I managed to limit my gambling which should have used real money but I didn't use real money in the end in a certain time I opened my savings and looked at the amount in my savings, for a long time if I had been gambling with real money That means I've used a lot of money. I did this because I followed my own will, but what is clear is that to stop being addicted to gambling, yes, it is better to stop completely, but on the other hand I see, many people stop their gambling addiction but they experience failure and instead return to gambling with a more aggressive attitude. , maybe this is because our ways are different, therefore I myself have a way to limit gambling, because I know that stopping completely, let alone all at once, will not be easy.

I think everyone has their own way of limiting gambling, even if they are addicted, but if they have awareness then they will limit their gambling activities in their own way. and also the way I do it won't get rid of my gambling habit, but at least I won't lose the money I have for gambling, I don't think this is bad either.

Indeed, many people already know about demo-based slot games and that should be the choice for people when they don't want to lose their money but still want to experience the gambling game. At least they can avoid losing money and enjoy their free time by playing demo mode. They can spend their time playing slots in demo mode, so they don't have to experience much money loss. However, demo mode has a different sensation than real mode, so only a few people use it in their free time. They tend to choose to deposit their money to gamble and try to enjoy their free time.

It depends on how we can enjoy the demo mode, so we will not use real money to play the slot. If we can enjoy it, we don't need to deposit money into a gambling account and can use the money for other purposes. That means we must determine what we choose, and each will have consequences. If we can accept the consequences of using the demo mode by losing the thrill of the challenge, we will not feel the loss of any money.

Well, it is always good to consider things from Different points of view , and in particular you should review the ones that are more logical to see what works best, for Example in my country Consultation with a psychologist is not Expensive , it is something Accessible and that there can be a timely confinement for a person to be Treated, now I don't Know if this is how much it is to treat Additions, a high Price may Arise due to the Number of Questions that the person must go to , this is Something to be sure , however I would say that things are Always well Accepted if it is also taken into consideration that every time something is done to Improve the Sport , it is within the Capabilities of the sport , I know that many are not Fans of the sport , but going out for a Walk , going out for a walk, made it Keeping the mind busy is good, but there is no Better way than for the body to get tired, why? When the body gets married, it is very easy for the mother to Want to rest , no matter how many times there are in the game, she can do it in one case, but it will be much less and the expenditure of money will be reduced.

I always Recognize this because a deprotect person is not obligated to do it and this will make the person feel better that things can be very Decisive if they can go hand in hand to do things every time in the same way, I might think that It may happen that every time you are anywhere doing some sport, friends will be generated, by generating friends it is likely that certain meetings will be generated, go there in a social way and it will cause the person that things may be seen in a different way. , because they will always be at the forefront of doing things better , the more activities they have a person who considers themselves addicted, this is a very economical and necessary solution, sometimes the social aspect helps a lot for the person to become healthier, because they get to know people are looking for other things in other aspects , there is another type of Environment , people will not feel alone, that helps.

More precisely gambling using a demo account will not give them any sensation, because there is no chance to double something there and winning is something that is meaningless, we cannot lie that winning is something that most gamblers always want and that is the reason why many people are interested in getting involved in it which is not uncommon to find those who go overboard. On the other hand, there are probably not a few people who suggest gambling on a demo account, in my opinion it doesn't really matter because considering the difficulty of quitting the activity completely, so with that, it might eliminate the possibility of risk because there is no real victory and there is no defeat that can lose our money too.

Although it can be used as a precaution against losing money but obviously even if you only gamble on a demo account it is still gambling, or I mean it is very likely that when you get a lot of winnings on a demo account you will think of trying to play on a real account using your money. So I would say that this is not the best alternative because it still has the potential for you to return to playing on the real account, the right thing is to take some precautions without touching anything related to gambling, for example keeping yourself busy with other things by increasing your work.

It will prolong the process but will not help avoid the inevitable.

even though if you think about it, there are many other things that are more fun, and they can still do other things that are more useful, even though they gamble on a small budget but that doesn't allow them not to become addicted to gambling. Maybe it will be difficult for those who are addicted to gambling to escape their desire to gamble, however I think they should be able to do other things that might be more enjoyable to leave their gambling habit.

you are right, by them doing something other than gambling maybe they can see their finances improve because they don't gamble, apart from that they can also use the money that should be used for gambling to save, maybe this is better for them,  because by saving will also provide something good for themselves in the future, and this can also make them see their finances become stable, because as far as I know, if someone is addicted to gambling, chances are they won't be able to control their finances. I think this needs to be done to reduce the risks that will occur later.
Many other things are more fun than just playing gambling continuously. Besides that, other things will not use more money, which is different from what they do in gambling, where they have to use money to enjoy the gambling game. Yes, they can use the demo mode, but that is less challenging, and using real money can make people get the most out of it. That is what makes more people addicted to gambling, which they cannot avoid. But by doing other things, at least it can reduce the level of desire to gamble because there are other things they can still do.

Yes, it will also affect his finances because by doing other things, his finances will not be disturbed and will only be used to meet his daily needs and sudden needs. They will not deposit more money into the casino because they are already trying to reduce their gambling activities. This gives them more money to be saved to prepare for the future. But if they are addicted to gambling, they will not be able to have more money because more of the money will be allocated to their gambling account and this will cause problems for them.

Unlike regular gamblers, they always stop when they lose or set limits on the number of losses. Gambling addicts often continue to play to regain lost money. People addicted to gambling may be aware of the consequences that gambling causes, but they seem to have no way to control or resist the urge and temptation of gambling. I think that by keeping people addicted to gambling busy, they will no longer have time to think about participating in gambling games and gradually overcome their addiction more successfully. The detoxification process will face many difficulties and challenges, sometimes it takes addicts many years to overcome all the consequences caused by gambling, and at the same time eliminate their interest in gambling.

Yeah, that's one helpful way of treating addiction, to do something else instead.

Specially when the triggers appear, do something else.

For example, if someone always gambles after coming back from work for example, it might be a good idea to say, go for a run after work. That way you end up replacing a bad habit with a good one.

Over time, you will feel better

Even if choosing a different and healthier hobby is a step on the right direction, until a person faces the issues that led them towards the path of addiction, their addiction is not really over.

Since even the smallest provocation could make that person to go back to their old ways and gamble all the time, and if you study the patterns of those that suffer this problem you will see this is very common, however resolving those issues is very time consuming, and over the years the quality and the time invested to mental healthcare has decreased significantly.
Of course, if their will is strong, they will be determined to quit gambling. They need to stay away from places where they often gamble and delete all the websites they usually play on. Keep your mind busy, or find another game to forget about gambling. It would be great if there were relatives or friends to support and help them during this period. As long as they have determination, I believe they can do it.
If they are responsible people, I believe that quitting gambling addiction will be very simple. They should remember that gambling addiction greatly affects family members, work, and possibly society. It doesn't simply affect them alone.

Nothing is impossible if we thik to move on the we can do it easyly. It hard to move on but it's not impossible. Human can do anything thik if they want to do. It's gambling people do that for just for fun and enjoyment and some in here for earn money . But if you are facing to much losses then you should stop it. If you are facing losses then you should stop it.
