Since 2021 I registered in this forum, I haven't seen this thread. But after reading Op, I had no choice than to increase my respect for you, which I have had right from my newbie days.
There was when I discovered I was in DT2, I didn't use it to hunt anyone down and I didn't see it as additional power against the weak. DT power is to sanitize this forum and prevent scammers and cheaters from thriving.

Sorry to hear you're feeling like that. Is it also the case you have a lot to get rid of? If it were me I'd just bung them at people almost regardless of which of their posts. I guess it might smack to you of favouritism or even decision-making (gah!), but surely there are generally-agreed upon people who could do with big bumps? And especially in places you don't haunt, where they can get on with it without you having to go through their colleagues' stuff? Probably would encourage them to keep up with the flow. Since I have to empty my source sMerit, I usually send 4 sMerit at a time. I wanted to Merit this post and accidentally clicked left instead of right from the "zero" on the "Merit a post"-page. As some claim I'm AI, I clicked "Send" at the same moment I realized my mistake, and my heart skipped a beat.
That default zero has always been risky, but it's the first time it hit me this hard. Maybe I should send 6 sMerit at a time from now on, so this mistake can't happen anymore.

It got me thinking: I kinda want to make it rank up, would it be considered Merit begging if I use it to post my next big post?
I can't see any point why should it consider merit begging if you make long post or analysis topic. To be honest merit deserve according to post or topic quality, not according to user account. And you are not abusing anything like signature or exchange merit etc. So my personal opinion is, you can make long or short post, its depend on other users they will send merit or not.
My account LoyceMobile is on DdmrDdmr's Rank pipeline. It lacks Merit for Full Member, because I don't type much on my phone. It got me thinking: I kinda want to make it rank up, would it be considered Merit begging if I use it to post my next big post?

I think that it isn't something that is frowned upon. You can send a neutral rating from your main account as it would still mean that you got paid as promised for your review about their site but you are not in a position to trust because of "little experience with site".

The bolded part is the reason why I vouch for your trust ratings, IMO every DT member should do that but they really don't care, I have posted several threads in reputation board and some of the trusted members have already said that leaving me negative trust is not needed but since the DTs who'd tagged me are trust abusers they never cared about what the community members say. of course, your way could also work, first tag people and then ask them to post their appeal for the community and if there were enough votes against the tag, simply remove them.

Ever since I was put on DT2 (around March I think), I've been thinking about how to use it without abusing it. So far, I've only used my DT2 red trust for hacked accounts, scammers and spambots. Yesterday, I left the first green trust to 8 people who joined my 10-10-10 altcoin experiment 10 months earlier, and paid when required. I left neutral trust for a nineth person who has 3 non-DT ponzi-accusations against him. It didn't feel right to leave him green trust, even though our deal went well.

Regarding the negative trust, I have seen people leaving only neutral "comment" like : "I've never dealt with this person."

Since I'm new to leaving positive DT-trust, I used these users as my main example. - I've read more discussion about whether or not DT should leave positive trust after deals, and the opinions seemed to vary. The trust I left shows "Risked BTC amount 0", which is supposed to be used to weigh the trust.
- All people involved joined before I was put on DT. My plan (from the start) was to leave trust afterwards, just like I did to the people who (last year) joined my airdrop sharing service for 3 months in a row (I didn't leave trust for people who joined 1 or 2 months only). I probably won't do it again after ROUND 2, as I don't want people to join just to earn DT-trust.

I would ignore that person. I don’t give much credence to those who leave retaliatory negative trust. Those types of ratings are common and abbr ignored. If there is any evidence to backup his claims in his reference (he didn’t leave one, but if he did) you would want to respond to defend yourself, not leave a negative in retaliation.

Don't leave retaliatory feedback, even if they're wrong let them be. if you want to tag people like that then you are no different than ogy and other trust abusers. I can vouch for you to be fair with your trust ratings, you don't bully people, you don't use DT for financial benefit of your own business like almost every other DT.

I don't recognize the username, and I don't think I've ever interacted with this person. The Comments sounds positive, but the color is negative. I've left a PM earlier today from LoyceMobile, asking if this was some how a mistake, but so far without getting a response.
I kinda want to leave red trust in response, but it doesn't feel right to (ab)use DT-powers to do so. On the other hand, I obviously don't trust someone who leaves me random red trust without any reference link.

Today, user elsie34 left me this feedback, which made me decide to open this topic:
I don't recognize the username, and I don't think I've ever interacted with this person. The Comments sounds positive, but the color is negative. I've left a PM earlier today from LoyceMobile, asking if this was some how a mistake, but so far without getting a response.
So, I'll leave this question for the community: what to do? This question has been answered ("do nothing"), thanks!
Update 2: it was a mistake and the red trust has been removed.
