It is very disappointing that we have all these careless administrators looking after large sums of money.
Hopefully NXT's multigateway will provide a decenteralized solution for this.

The hacker gave back most of the loot, left a few million for himself, which could depress price for ~2 weeks if he chose to sell, but he actually said he believes in NXT and intends to keep those few mln NXTs, go figure!

I am not sure how the stolen NXT coins from Bter will affect the overall cryptocurrency market but this is something to really consider when evaluating NXT:

It is very disappointing that we have all these careless administrators looking after large sums of money. In parts it is truly embarrassing. These are the key issues they will hold against the community and force control and authority.

I'd much rather be in NXT than LTC that's for sure. Look at all the amazing features NXT has over BTC. What does LTC have over BTC? A different graphic on the QT wallet and a little bit quicker transaction times.

The only reason LTC got as high as it did is because it was one of the first alts. Once the alt market became saturated, there were just too many better choices than LTC for people to invest in.

Ipo scam NXT coin distributed to 70 people won't ever reach Litecoins marketcap.

well actually in theory if it could have been kept completely on the "native exchange" in theory it could go to "infinity" market cap.

Nxt is a ecosphere. Why you even care about marketcap and the trading volume is as well nonsense in case of Nxt..... Everything will happen inside Nxt so no need for exchanges. Ready for deploy?

Even in that scenario, NXT will still be competing against similar "second generation" coins like Qora and NEM as well as services layered on top of Bitcoin so market cap would still be an important measure of success.

Why you even care about marketcap and the trading volume...

Well, you know, it's legacy measurements of sorts, I guess we'll still have to use them for quite a while.

Well let's see:

LTC market cap: $234 million
NXT market cap: $61 million

Assuming that they ever do intersect sometime in the future, the most probable point for this would be $234 million + $61 million ÷ 2 which equals $147.5 million.

So that would be my guess.

LTC has been doing quite poorly this year, whereas NXT has done reasonably OK so I wouldn't be too surprised if NXT overtakes LTC.

to start with the marketcap listed of nxt is a bit fudgy but anyways even with that its pretty much at its peak, freefall is inevitable.

It peaked around a month ago at ~10 cents didn't it?

Not sure about that one. LTC price at the beginning of the year was a little over $20. Now it's a little under $10. NXT price at the beginning of the year was about 10 cents. Now it's a little over 5 cents. So both are down roughly 50 percent since Jan 2014.

The only thing keeping this shitcoin alive is these daily hype threads with zero actual facts

I can get facts as to why Nxt is number 3 and rising if you want but I don't think you'll like it...

You sure?

If no one is interested, I won't then  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

It's really quite interesting how nobody wants to hear some facts about Nxt. It's like they bury their heads in the sand but that won't change anything. Because serious investors and businesses are investing because of objective facts not because of bitcointalk trolls. Cheesy

NXT supply = ~1 Billion NXT

LTC supply = ~30 million LTC

Hardly a way to compare the two (via market caps).

If NXT's supply was 1 Trillion then there you go you win the market cap game. LOL.

Litecoin has been #2 for so long, it would be great to see something else like a coin im invested in take its place.
It would be a great triumph for a "2nd gen" ipo coin that 70 people control crypto to edge it's way closer to Bitcoin.
