This is pretty bullish news for LTC on gox. That post just means they're checking items off their list, eventually leading up to the implementation of LTC. Beats me why they wouldn't want to implement it either, it would reap them huge profits.

Time to stock up on ltc boys.

Right. I would not be too optimistic to be honest, due to these facts:

1: Mark Karpele, CEO of MtGox is one of the chair-men in bitcoin-foundation
2: Several bitcoin-foundation chair-men recently took a strong anti-altcoin stance, wanting to get rid of them and create a bitcoin-monopolistic market.

Shortly put; politics in motion. I would be very surprised if Jon "Don The Boss" Matonis and the other foundation-gangsta's haven't silently shoved a crow-bar up Mark's ass by now, whispering into Mark's left ear they will twist it around if he dares to launch LTC on gox. When Simon says jump, I'm sure Mark will reply "How High!?".

That being said; Litecoin is good stuff in my eyes. Taking the bad reputation of gox seems to have in general right now, I don't think the LTC-price will be much affected ether way.

LTC is growing, slowly but surely; regardless of The Magic Wand of Gox-Wizards decides to sprinkle it with star-dust or not. LTC already got it's own star-dust.

Probably soon-ish. Gox has been working on it long enough. There's a rumor of a september 10th announcement going on.

What is the source if this "rumor" ?

I see people on https://www.facebook.com/MtGox?filter=2 talking about september 9th, but I have no idea where did they take this "rumor" from.

I definitely collect ( mine ) and buy LTC and wait for the right moment. Let it be for half a year or later ... I do not rush anywhere.

I don't see MtGox implementing LTC before their cashout issues are fixed. I see LTC suddenly increasing in value when trading on MtGox followed by a huge drop that will still leave the price higher than now.

Litecoin is certain to dramatically increase in value once it gets traded on MtGox. Better buy some until it's not too late.

There is a possibility that nothing significant happens when mtgox implement LTC.
The only real reason for the sudden jump is a lack of supply due to large purchases and very low sales.
Some say that people will buy LTC to take out money from mtgox.
Also can buy BTC right now and sell on other exchangers with some loss. They will have the same loss if they try to sell LTC on other exchanges. there will be a small number of those who will buy LTC at a low price and be able to make sales to other exchange offices with profit.
If LTC  jump on MtGox will this be the case in all other exchanges?...or will make a huge difference, more than the BTC?

The only thing driving BTC price up on Gox is the inability to cash out

so today's btc price crash must be driven by the sudden ability to cash out USD now   ...right?

logic

Can you elaborate - are you referring to some change at MtGox or to the fact BTCe is now doing international wires to US customers?

no, i was being sarcastic in order to point out that walsoraj's assumption was flawed

sorry to get your hopes up

Btc have doubled from its lows, failed to take out 150 and thinly traded consolidations lately and super pumps eating consolidation breakout walls, pushing price to super extended levels. Purely speculation. Ltc with basically no economy has been trading at elevated levels fueled by hopium. Btc crashing down from extreme highs and a ltc that already crashed - of course it was now time for buying ltc selling btc. Now btc will try toto find support and if it does ltc will continue crashing in terms of btc. Just my 5 satoshis.

My 3x 7970's are getting about 1x LTC per day which was worth about $2. That's about the energy it costs to create them... so they're no over priced. Miners need to make money.
No they don't. And then it becomes unprofitable.  Wink

If your THREE 7970's are giving you 1LTC per day... You're doing something horribly wrong.  2 7950's give me 1.3LTC a day...

Trying to pump up LTC with this pointless rumor again? It's not going to work this time. MtGox isn't so important anymore. It's coinbase we should be looking at implementing LTC.

It makes no sense to implement LTC prior to the new trading engine. Don't count on it.

It's coming either way, whether it's this month or 2 months from now. Right now is a good price to buy in.

Disagree. Price is where it is due to supporting of pumps by BTCe. It is over inflated and tons of noobs are waiting to cash out once it hits Gox.

Basic trading rule: if everyone buys hoping same thing will happen, it wont. In this case, for months traders been buying in anticipation of Gox IPO. Too many holding too many coins. I bet we see a typical "IPO" crash once it hits Gox, followed by a nice rocket of course.

Why would anyone sell his ltcs on Gox anyway provided that no money can leave Gox now
Its introduction on Gox is just another means of quicker withdrawal.

This is exactly why one should stock up on litecoins right now. People won't sell litecoins on gox, they will buy them in order to move their cash out. Thus moving the price up by orders of magnitude.

They can sell for BTC.

I've been saying this for months:

It's never going to happen. Litecoin will never be trading on Mt Gox.

Unfortunately, it is much harder being right when you are predicting something will never happen. But so far, I am right, and I will continue to be right.

Is mtgox creating ltc from thin air? There will be only ltc to buy if people send them to mtgox to sell them.
