the bad situation is now that all the establish miners with there farm rigs are turning there guns to litecoin there for leaving new comers to bite the dust difficulty up 50% and will clime up to 500 by the end of the month.

Yep - for a second it looked like I was going to be able to make my money back that was spent on a larger PSU and two 6870s 3 weeks ago.

It might happen eventually but it's a long way off now - started at 60 difficulty and was raking in the LTC.  Now it looks like I'll be lucky to mint 3 a day for the next couple days and diminish pretty quickly from there out.

With Litecoin's fast transactions and resistance to centralization (more ASIC proof), I could see Litecoin potentially giving BTC a run for its fiat if there is wider adoption.  For merchants to be able to use these cyptocoins, the quicker confirmation could be a huge benefit in.  At this point BTC still takes much too long for actual retail use.  Secondly, since people are now getting familiar with the wallets and cryptocoin transactions, the hurdle for LTC to be adopted seems a lot less.

My thoughts as well.  Store in Bitcoin, trade in Litecoin.  Perfect complements.

BTC-E is the major LTC exchange right now.

Not for long if the rumours are to be believed *cough* Gox *cough*

I believe those rumors were verified to be true.  Smiley

And.............

HERE

COMES

THE

CRASH!
nope. no crash here

Phew!  It's going back down.

Scared me.  I was worried it'd shoot up to ten dollars or something, and then I'd really have missed that boat.
people are cashing out. that's more than expected from the very early and not-so-early-but-still-early-enough people when you have such insane amounts of ROI. it will probably go down a few, find a floor somewhere, stay there for some time and then it will go up again.

People, I have a strong feeling in my nether regions that the rate will drop to the 2-3 dollar area and stay there until I finish my TacoMiner.

Then it'll slowly rise to 10 bucks over a few months.

I'm very worried about the difficulty rising big time too, though. Right now, LTC is 439.81% more profitable to mine then BTC. I imagine a lot of people are installing LTC miners.

I'm really thinking about buying some 6870s and mining some litcoins especially at $4 dollars per litecoins.Does anyone here have a 6870?If yes, whats the performance like? I heard that a single 6870 can create around 100 litecoins at the current difficulty.

I have a pair of 6870s tuned to 302kh/s each (total shows about 600-610kh/s) running for weeks now - daily earnings after pool fees are about 5.5LTC/day at this difficulty.

That sounds pretty good. I really hope that LTC stays at $4 or grows to $10 that would be pretty amazing.

Oh and +1 to Vuxil thanks for the link
