Yes, same here, my prediction is that it will be a close fight, however, it seems that Lopez really had the numbers and Gonzalez is just short again in his attempt to win a title.
Nevertheless he did give try his best, but obviously that night it was the champion who is working double hard to retain his belt and Gonzalez doesn't have any respond to that and just going on the motions to finished the fight.
I do agree that Inoue will beat this version of Lopez at 126 lbs and he could be the easiest of the champion and could be a great target for Inoue if he moves up in another division above him.
The scorecards did not reflect the actions in the fight I agree that Lopez deserves the win but the gap in scoring was not realistic Ruben Carrion (116-112), Robert Hoyle (118-110), and Steve Weisfeld (117-111) I thought Lopez won one or two rounds there was even a concern in the eyes of Luis Alberto Lopez when the scorecard was being read maybe thinking if what he has done was enough to win the fight, there was a sign of relief when his name was called.
I just knew it was going to be a slugfest both fighters showed hunger all throughout the fight, Let's see now if the Luis Alberto Lopez - Naoya Inouefight will push through. hope to create a thread for that.
Locking this thread now, hope to see more great fights this year.
