We can't really say that the value of bitcoin is going up as of now because there is a threat which is the bitcoin cash and we can feel the effect after the fork in august 1st which most of the bitcoin holders feared about because they also believe that the price of bitcoin or value of it will go down significantly which will lead for having a huge loss in our investment.

The trust of bitcoin users on bitcoin have made it possible that even today the price is rising and hope so it will continue to rise more. We need this determination of users.

It is just clever people with ksrge Bitcoin bags manipulatig the rest of us to sell our Bitcoin to them from cheap (it was below $2000) this spun them such a fast profit they dizzy. Bitcoin is going to keep going up watch and see.

Yeah.

It'll float around the 2700-2800 today and tomorrow, then it wi'll reach 3K, and after Segwit activation we can go to 4K.

Is anyone else surprised by this? I expected it to go down with all the negative hype surrounding tomorrow. Do you think it has to do with the Segwit agreement or maybe BTC-e refunding it customers (which is amazing by the way).

OR! Does anyone still predict the apocalypse tomorrow? Regardless, I will be holding on to my BTC until the price is much much higher but I'm interested in seeing what the community thinks.

I personally feel that the prices will rise . Most the the traders are holding themselves because of this reason. They can make more profits with the increase in prices. Even miners are hoping for the prices to atleast cross 3500. If that happens it's better for everyone .
Now , even if the prices go up , no one is sure as to how much time it will stay constant . There is a possibility for the prices to fall as well. So one suggestion I would like to give is that do all the trading or buying stuff when the prices shoot up , like alteast 3000+.

It will go up as the people that owns BCC will surely sell it and convert them thru BTC thus increasing the demand in bitcoin

why are you surprised?
i have said it many times, the panic, the dump, the manipulation, the dip,... all these come way before the actual event. by August 1st everyone is already where they want to be.

for example if you fear bitcoin is going to die you get out 1 month before it happens not on the exact date!!! and this already happened when they manipulated people to sell #$1800-$1900 for half a day and then those who bought enjoyed the cheap coins newbies gave them.

there was even a last squeeze last week to get the cheapest coins possible (@$2400ish) and it was the final one. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/the-last-squeeze-2045367 i hope at least 1 newbie listened and bought instead of panic selling.

Even though I was not moved to take some rash decisions, but I must admit, I was a little pessimistic about what will happen few days to August 1 and even now few hours but everything is going on the contrary now and it seems the contrary is what is happening and I hope it continues but at the same time, its the crypto world and no one knows what will happen even before the day runs out.

It'd be a bad time to buy in right now if you haven't already, it's best to just weather the storm and let BTC go where it'll go. There'll be a lot of money to come from those who sell BTC cash and anyone who has weak hands, well they're already living with the regret that they sold 2 weeks ago at $1,800 while now it's approaching $3,000 Wink
It would not hurt to buy the bitcoin at this time, look at the increase in bitcoin prices that occur. Now everyone is competing to buy bitcoin, they want bitcoin cash for free. So I think until the beginning of August we will see the bitcoin that increasingly desirable.

Personally, I'm quite surprise to see bitcoin price this high hours before the feared split. Many have predicted that the price would go down bigtime prior to Aug 1, bitcoin has proven otherwise.

No its not the end of days for bitcoin tomorrow. On the contrary, bitcoin will be reborn again and I'm optimistic that the price will go up after Aug 1. Just hold because the future of bitcoin is looking good in the future. It may touch new ATH after Aug 1.

The more we realise that the swings of price rests in our hands the better. The moneybags and whale will o my succeed when majority follows the direction they are driving the price towards and that's exactly what is happening. The increase in price could be because everyone is maintaining a position, exchange sites are suspending operations while users have withdrawn their coins to a safer wallet among other reasons. So the little active sites are being overstretched in my opinion, thereby increasing price.

Bitcoin holders will determine whether the price will rise or not soon as prices are determined by supply and demand. I think those investors have kept their Bitcoin till now ( I mean August 1 event) will continue to hold their Bitcoins. Those who had panicked and had sold their Bitcoins will buy again. With this high demand and low supply, the price increase is inevitable.

Interesting. You think those who panicked and sold will be willing to buy back in at say 3500+? If what you are saying is true, I wonder if the price hike will prevent new money from entering into btc.
