AS is the future of coin exchange. Good thought Dev. Just make sure you pursue this lofty ideal ultimately, and this could be the thrue hier to BTC's soon-to-be-vacant throne

Absolutely agree on AS. Regarding the throne, you can be sure we're working very hard to live up to our community expectations. Smiley

Exciting Bitcoin fork project, but why you chose the ASIC friendly SHA256 algorithm over a GPU or a CPU mining algorithm?

And why did you implement a two-week difficulty adjustment?

I'm wondering the same on two-week difficulty adjustment
what two-week difficulty adjust?

You can find further info about network difficulty on following link:

Have you already read this Medium post? It's interesting. In there, they say what are going to do to solve Bitcoin problems.

There will be pre-mined coins?

No premine is possible for a Bitcoin fork (due to its nature). Thus, there will be no premine for BCA.

Please check my post above on 2-week adjustment: retargeting on every block would result in ridiculous oscillation in the difficulty level when there's a hot streak and several blocks are found in short succession or a cold streak where a block isn't found for a long period

We already had a similar question, and our thinking on it is the following:

Atomic Swaps are the way forward for exchanging - this is called innovation for decentralization.

Bitcoin holders will receive one Bitcoin Atom for each Bitcoin they hold.

Merry X-mas Roll Eyes

if you want to decentralize, get rid of sha256 and move to a gpu only algo.

There already exist forks which attempt to decentralize the system by moving to a GPU-only algo. BCA, however, takes a different approach (in terms of block generation & consensus model) and uses a hybrid PoW/PoS, providing processing power decentralization.

Regarding 2-week difficulty adjustment: nothing surprising actually, as retargeting on every block would result in ridiculous oscillation in the difficulty level when there's a hot streak and several blocks are found in short succession or a cold streak where a block isn't found for a long period - as per Compro01 (bitcoin.stackexchange) and common sense.

project is quite good and interesting. For 1: 1 fork for Bitcoin is the same as Bitcoincash. one question from me? what is the predicted price for BitcoinAtom when it releases in exchange?
