We choose to go to the moon
And keep the rest of the budget for other purposes, know what I mean  Wink You know like with the moon landings.

Budget, right... What's the point, considering the most expensive part is the big-ass rocket? And since you can't fake a rocket launch, you might as well send it somewhere interesting. Now you'll tell me Saturn V were made of cardboard, right? Smiley

It's not just food that matters, humans have a psychological need for space as well. The more people there are, the more we end up like Calhouns rats - dying from a lack of reproduction, even when the numbers start to drop after major dieoffs. The rodents never recovered, who is to say that we will?

I don't disagree. Let's start with the 2-child-max-per-couple rule and enforce that first.

We basically already have two children per family globally, more in some countries and less in some.

Great idea comrades. The global government can enforce that along with the global carbon tax.

Stats provided by NOAA part of the US govt.

So? NASA is funded by US govt too. Yet they manage to land a few rovers of Mars.

Can't do that with crappy science.

There are interesting theories going around about NASA

For example you could fake it, say in greenland, add a red tint to the 'mars' photos. And keep the rest of the budget for other purposes, know what I mean  Wink You know like with the moon landings.

people believe in terraforming but climate change is a myth?

For the sake of science, I terraformed an orange once.

Did the government want the end result to be a rover on Mars?

Does the government want the end result of climate change studies to show the public that they need more government?

Indeed, he also said to buy everything under 10 K as we'll never see it again..
Literally he said "mid-term LOOKS bearish"
Things can change quickly and markets are irrational  Cool

Yeah, but short-term and mid-term predictions = coin toss.

In that area... even very smart guys are all over the map.

It's interesting that religion actually caused scientists of old to be honest about their findings. They believed the scientific method was gods way of showing us how the world works, so they couldn't lie about it cause god would know.

INstead computer models with no basis in reality are endlessly tweaked to give the needed result.

This.

I once did a division level battle scenario simulating all of the network traffic and wireless traffic with moving troops and terrain. We had drones flying in the air acting as range extenders for people on the ground to get over hills and other things blocking line of sight.

It took us a very very long time to get the simulation running...the thing kept crashing due to the amount of information we were throwing through it. We had to extrapolate as much as we could to get it to run. I stayed up all night one time to get it to run all the way through for the first time. The results showed that the drones were bottle necked with traffic and hardly anything was getting through. Knowing this wouldn't sit well with the green suits we extrapolated some of the models differently so that we could get better results. Who knows what the reality was. I was just glad we were on the research end of things. When I started working in real world environments it wasn't as fun. One time I was working on a system being used in Iraq but it was down for a few days while we worked on some broken code. During that time 10 marines died and one of my frustrated co-workers blamed me for their deaths due to our system being down (the reality was that even with a perfectly working system they would have still died). Research is much better. Throwing wild numbers out that don't matter for a long time is easy.

not if you zoom in...

We should keep this trend up until we reach 800-1000 ppm, so humanity's IQ drops 20-25 points.

Then we're be too stupid to solve things anyway.

Stats provided by NOAA part of the US govt.

The thing is with science you must please your masters. Who are the ones funding you.

Science is supposed to be based on objective, testable, repeatable facts. How often this isn't the case. INstead computer models with no basis in reality are endlessly tweaked to give the needed result.

I know what we need comrades. A global carbon tax. Everyone will pay. And while we are at it. A global government. Global army.

Maybe, maybe not.
But we're far away from 10k AT THIS POINT...it's not that easy.

Dude. Bitcoin could fart +$300 USD up to $10k within seconds on a random bull-run.

$300 is not far away at all.

You and I have vastly differing definitions of "far away".

thats so true .... as well up or down, but after the few weeks we just had my thoughts are on the upperside to

Don't ask me why. Shit happens.

Sorry. You're wrong. This train is chugging towards testing stability at $10k in the coming week.

There is also a good chance monkeys could fly out of my butt too.

Maybe, maybe not.

Back to the subject... check out this prediction from 1 year ago:

https://www.tradingview.com/chart/BTCUSD/YRZvdurN-The-target-of-current-bubble-lays-between-40k-and-110k/

It's freaking amazing.

Interesting that we have been in that middle channel for so long. Even if we followed the lower channel we'd be in decent shape long term.

That chart is by PentarhUdi aka Masterluc aka Bitcoin Vanga - his forecasts are well respected by a fair few people.

His recent mid-term opinion is bearish however :

https://vk.com/bitcoin_vanga?w=wall-130254204_10525

Indeed, he also said to buy everything under 10 K as we'll never see it again..
Literally he said "mid-term LOOKS bearish"

Would like to know what he calls mid-term as generally in traditional investments that means something like a couple and even up to 10 years. If he is talking in Bitcoin terms it could perfectly mean a couple months.

Even if masterluc's predictions have proven surprisingly accurate... his wording often reminds to Nostradamus.
