I don't think coinye will go anywhere. It will continue to be mined for a short period of time but this will stop when people realize that no major exchanges will take it on. Its too much of a risk for them, why would they bother.

Put it this way, Coinye has currently brought more to Bitcoin than it has to itself in that it raised the profile of Bitcoin, while simply imploding on itself.

I don't see any evidence that the devs were doing anything revolutionary to make crypto easier for the masses. They just tried to cash in on a gimmick and didn't have the balls/lawyers to see it through.

Bitcoin wasn't tarred with legal action before it hit exchanges. I can't ever see a 'major' exchange trading Coinye, and I don't think that Coinye would make any 'small' exchange become major.

Mind, it doesn't hurt to casually mine a few Coinye I suppose...

Maybe one exchange might not cave in to legal pressure.

If Cryptsy don't list it then it must be bad lol

This coin is dead.

If it hadn't been premined by the dev and insta-sold on the 'first day' then maybe it would have had a chance. I have some in my wallet, but I'm just gonna forget about it and tell my friends that I posses it.

Love the attention the coin is getting the crypto community too! I'm a huge KW fan personally and I thought the whole thing was funny

Coinye was the moment that got one of naysaying friends into Bitcoin. At least it was good for something Cheesy

Hmm this sounds familiar... Wink

Yeah, but sometimes these newbs come on here and end up spreading their FUD and misinformation. Seen it happen too many times  Roll Eyes Wink.

And isn't Coinye dead now, or is it going to be resurrected like Yeezus?

Time will tell I suppose, but my money is on Coinye being dead. No exchange will touch it.

A coin doesn't need exchanges to survive, but it helps.

It needs an exchange for traction, without that it is nothing.

It needs people using it to gain traction. When did Bitcoin gain its first exchange? Exchanges will come naturally if the coin is used enough, but I guess Coinye is a new case as it's probably the first to be barred by threat of law haha. I think people are desperately trying to re-brand it, but I'd just leave it, but then again I guess I don't have millions or worthless Coinye's floating around haha.

I can't see it having any future, I mean what does it bring to the market?
1) Unpaid attention, that would be hard to achieve by most major coins.
2) Ongoing court battle, that could make precedence for others.
3) Plain and candid fun from trolling KW.

Unpaid attention for a lost cause, that's the real shame. At least it brought more attention to crypto - it is surely a martyr.

It makes altcoins look ridiculous. I think if anything it made people less inclined to trust any of them, aside from maybe bitcoin. Kanye is a joke to adults. There is no court battle there is a cease and desist order that will outlive anyone caring about the coin.

This is the same sort of delusional idiocy that bloomed in the dot com boom. Probably before you were born.

Coinye is the new Flooz.

yay.

That new coin "Koin" sounds suspiciously like another coin doesn't it ?

They state "Premine: 7,234,659,432 Koin ( Already split up quite well and out of any one entities control.  Most holders of the premine are not even aware they have it! )"

Coinye doesn't have future mainly because people are too scared about lawsuits etc that would ruin their investments.

Coinye is a scam with somewhere in the region of 500,000,00 to 1,333,332,000 coins premined and dumped (for around 8 or 9 satoshi) some 3 days after launch on a pop-up exchange.

Kanye West was just used as a publicity tool to suck in enough miners/buyers so thay they could get enough signatures for a petition limit to get it on cryptsy (then they could dump the premine right away). They were setting up cryptsy petitions within hours of the launch.

The new owners had an opportunity to completely redesign it and comply but it seems they prefer to go down the same dead end as the original devs, straight into the great crypto toilet bowl of history.

Coinye is finished. If the premine didn't kill it, the legal threats will.
