The EU cant stand because there are so many different cultures and different cultures need different economic policies and to try to govern it all is just a mess.

I'm a British expat working in Amsterdam and I think the EU is a total clusterfrack of closet communists and corruption.

UK should leave... It's not like I won't get a visa to work here. Borders are bullshit anyway, but hey some control of the country is better than the diminished law making powers under the EU.

My bet is that the UK will stay by a slim margin... Anyone know any sites that I can make that wager? Smiley

They just got out of the Scotland scare and they want to move out of EU?

Speaking as somebody who was born and actually lives there, yes, a lot of people hate the EU simply because it is a bloated, inefficient bureaucracy that is trying to build an empire and more importantly it is an unelected bureaucracy. Others are obviously your classic xenophobes but I think more are just tired of being told what we can and can't do as a country despite having our own elected government, we might as well be a protectorate of the EU right now.

If we can finally have a referendum in 2015 I will certainly be voting on it and I will be voting to get out, I hope people won't be falling for the same scare mongering bullshit that was pulled on us with the Scotland referendum. You can expect our media to do what you guys had with the tea party where they point the cameras at all the xenophobes there and try to paint everybody who's against the EU that way because of course a lot of the politicians want careers in the EU government somewhere because they won't have to worry about re-election Wink

That's because brits are a bunch of whiny dopuchebags who are unable to see the clear benefits of having the wise elders of the Brussels bureaucracy running things... Wink

British, with Germany are the first country of the Europe and it's very normal that British wants to quit from EU. And then there are many european citizen which fly in London only for work (and in this way, citizen of other country leaves work to the local citizen).

Economically Britain really isn't a part of eu anyway Because they have their own currency unlike other eu members.

Doesn't stop us sending billions to it. I'd have to look into the specific positives and negatives of being a member of the EU but at the moment the latter seems to outweigh the former especially when it just seems like a massive drain on the taxpayer for little benefit.

If most countries want to quit the EU, how is it staying together?

Is it staying together because all of Europe country use EURO for currency. Other this, there is the european policy which own rules for the rest of country, but I can say you that many country of Europe wants to quit from EU Wink

I want to quit EU as well and I'm dutch. We should've kept the Gulden

My country (Italy) also wants to quit from EU. But I think that only country which wants to stay in Europe actually is Germany. Rest of other country will quit because European Economic politic are very hard with all country  Angry. Hope that Italy will not quit from EU because my country, if this happen, will fallen down (economically) and will take the same way of Argentina..

Of course majority of British citizens want to quit EU. Consider that United Kingdom have a money (pound) which is more powerful than euro and then consider that many citizen of europe actually going to united kingdom only for work, and at David Cameron this thing doesn't like.

It is hard to say  - either they support EU or not. British people have also some positive feelings from EU - they can travel all over Europe and so on  Grin
we support being able to travel there and trade with it but not paying billions of £ every year for the privilege of doing so and being forced to open our borders to borderline third world countries

They should be thankful that they have a separate currency.
