Am starting to see some traffic from people's affiliate links. I'm probably going to make a sale eventually. Maybe you'll be the one to connect me with my first actual paying customer.

So nobody is interested in making BTC commissions for selling my book. This is why Bitcoin is not yet mainstream. Lack of really good promotion. Sad

Bitcoin is not mainstream because people don't want to sell your book? Makes sense. Tongue satoshibox is pretty cool though, I just tried it out.
Hahaha I meant Bitcoin isn't mainstream because we don't do enough to promote each other's products. I've got somebody's faucet rotator site on Satoshibox in my signature now when I could be doing another signature campaign. I was thinking that this would be a pretty basic, "scratch my back and I'll scratch yours" kind of thing. You might reference this video for an idea of what I mean. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFp2ke920og

is satoshibox trustable? I heard some bad things about them here?

Maybe. The owner doesn't seem to communicate well haha. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/satoshi-box-owner-please-stand-up-403538

Thanks for the info...Too bad, concept is good,I had plans to earn some money with it

I agree, the concept is amazing. no sign up required, you just upload file, and get link. That's fast and amazing.

Its hard to promote your books esp the demographic of age on this site above 18+.

Yes, it is. It really looks like some people are trying though. If I could just get more people to share their affiliate links (remember, you get .006 BTC per sale!), eventually we'll reach the right kind of people.

Ooh, I'm a science fiction fan and those puppies are cute. Would it help if I plastered this all over my Facebook and Twitter?

It might. Cheesy I see a few people are already using my affiliate links...Not getting much in sales, but eventually we're going to start reaching the people we need to.

it's a bit  hard to find an audience interested in reading sci fi stories and have a basic bitcoin knowledge to handle the purchase process from satoshibox

Maybe, but I think you underestimate science fiction fans. They're going to know that Star Trek's "credits" are a sort of dim foreshadowing of cryptocurrencies and maybe it'll get them curious about Bitcoin if nothing else.

is there a big audience for this?

There can be if only I can get it in front of eyeballs. I figure the whole point of affiliate marketing is to get the average person to do some of the leg work of advertising something in exchange for a cut of the take. Like travelling salesman, only you don't even need to leave your computer desk to do it.

In some ways I think your point about promotion is spot on thing.  I'll look into giving this a try and see what kind of interest there is but truth be told I'm not a pro at this by any means.  If it seems worth the time and effort I put into it I'll continue to peruse more potential buyers.   Smiley

Thanks...I would think this would be as simple as posting your affiliate links anyplace where you think you might get actual sales. Starting with Facebook, Twitter and (maybe) Reddit.

Ok thanks for the direction.  That is very possible and I'll be giving it a try at some point this week.   Wink

are you kidding me is getting there, just takes time, dont you know newegg and tigedirect, overstock are accepting bitcoin, seems like is getting close.

I think the OP may have been talking about promoting to the every day person.  That is who I think Bitcoin really needs promoted to and held more by any large companies.
