Topic: Make Una Avoid Ethnicity Here in the Forum. We're all One. (Read 293 times)

Have not experience such in this forum so I can't tell but in Nigeria na the common thing wey dey and na naija delta dey commonly face this challenge of tribalism. The issue with the Yoruba language in this board I don't really understand cause not everyone understands Yoruba and some can't even write with Yoruba, if the person feels to include Yoruba then he should start creating threads with Yoruba the ones who can speak can comment and the rest of us will ignore such thread but this idea go bring division for this local board cause when A decides to speak his local language B will also want to speak and people wey no understand that language no go fit communicate for the board again.
Tribalism is our major problem in this country sometimes it hinders the growth of the society and in a situation when power is focused on one tribe, when is time for the south south to take in charge or the south east we see a lot of fighting and killing, even in job opportunity tribalism dey common a lot of people get deprive from working in an organization just because of their tribe for example I know of an oil company that produces oil, in Nigeria the Niger Delta are commonly known for oil production, if am not mistaking this oil company has employed not less than 20 workers this year and non of those newly employed staffs representing Niger Delta but rather other tribe got the job. The issue with tribalism no one can even stop it cause now the newly born ones are thought with this mindset and they develop hatred for other tribes.

Charles-Tim I agree with you on the fact that there is a tendency for ethical relationships and resulting in tribalism here in the local board and in fact,, that is one of the core purposes of creating a local board at first, but note that as far as the forum is concerned we interact as anonymous users and not only people from your locality can read or speak your local languages, so for that,  there is no way we can prove there belong to your tribe,  and at that it best we concentrate on the two languages which we all and visitors can understand and leave tribe issues and crisis for physical politicians.

Here in the forum,  you interact as privately as possible and avoid unnecessary discussions that don't add anything much to as why we are all here on bitcointalk and how well we have utilised the cryptocurrency industry for the betterment of us and our local communities.

Omo from my own observation since I know Nigeria, na tribalism keep us the way wey the country dey like this, because this one go say na my brother, even when him brother no dey do the right thing them go dey support am. See our past election na yoruba dem give wey be say na igbo man win. All these things na him make Nigeria no fit better as them dey see truth dey turn am to lie because of corruption.

I beg we be one here and make we no come use language or tribe cause commotion for here as we no dey Nigeria fro this forum but we dey the world so any how we we behave na e other people go use look us. No Nigeria person for this forum go say s/he no fit speak English or Pidgin. Na these two language be our forum language and anybody we won speak another language make you do that one outside this forum.

On this board, two languages units us which is Pidgin and English. Not only Pidgin. In Nigeria, those are the two languages that United us. That is why we were able to serve in other states that are not ours because we know how to speak English and Pidgin. With the languages that United us, there is still ethnicity and tribalism in Nigeria. Do not let us deceives ourselves. Because you are communicating in English and Pidgin do not mean tribalism and ethnicity are no more existing in Nigeria or in anywhere including on this board.

To me, having different Nigeria languages here doesn't portray division or ethnicity. If this board didn't recognize local Content we in Nigeria or other countries wouldn't have gotten their Local board. So far rules of engagement remain same all we be same.

This is a very good observation, and I love how it's been handled maturely, which proof their are a whole lot of people here who has the growth of this forum and local board best at heart. Hence, I will like to chip in some tips, that since we do not have a Sub-board yet on this forum, if we could subsequently "bump" into into important threads, such as Rules & Guideline threads created by Sir Igebotz, it will go a long way get our newbies familiarize with the Rules, since most times people rarely visit the next page of a local board while in search of useful info

You have spoken well. One thing has united us together here in the forum and we should stick to it and not deviate from the rules, especially rules number 2. There is a saying that says ''Together we stand, divided we fall''. Anything wey go make us introduced individual tribal sub board for this our local board, go scatter everything wey be say the senior men wey ginger make this board they alive and active done try do. I no go like they active see say for my time na him confusion come enter our local board.

The thing be say no be for this forum wey all of us go they till we old. Definitely many persons go find their level or venture into other things. If we con divide the local board weting the future members of the forum go come think of us wey be early members. We think say the think go encourage them to continue.?

Well, 9ja dey very hard to control, even if say the best government try to adjust one or two things for this country e no go get head just because of say we too dey stubborn and watin really dey cause am nah just because of say the languages too plenty.
So instead of say e go dey very hard for the OGAs them to find am very difficult to understand some kind of threads or discussions just because of say nah local languages, e better make we just dey with our popular pidgins and standard English so that everyone go fit flow well for inside every discussion.
This language of a thing go make many people stop to dey active for here,,,,,, why I talk like that be say, if las las local languages threads them dey,,,, some pipo go only dey post for there and as e be say no be everybody go understand the language,, them no go dey active for the local board again....
So, instead of such things to happen,, e go better if we just maintain this broken and standard English because na the only languages way everybody for this our country go fit understand wella even without an explanation.

In naija we get different tribes so e no go make sense make we bring any other language other than pidgin English. We making use of a general language here which is pidgin will unite us the more to live well with ourselves,  and e no go make sense other language here. For other local board they communicate with one language in their local board and e go well. Needs for other naija languages go make us to not focus and e go make us as naija people to dey behind in the forum.

Make we no con begin bring politics enter here and that one go kuku make some guys wey don dey put head here run comot. We don see how politics for naija real life take divide us along plenty line like religion, ethnicity, social affinity, dialect, education and more. Now wetin we want begin talk na sub language for here.

Abeg that one no go help us for here to begin push say make one particular language speaker begin get sub board no matter their number.

Op you are right with your view about human being sentimental and that's exactly what has kept our country in this situation we find ourselves. And this has gradually eaten deep into our system, in school, church, government and practically in spheres of life. The question is can this ethnicity of a thing be truly eradicated the answer is No.

Ethnicity can not be totally avoided because humans are already sentimental in nature no matter how much this is emphasis and considering that the generation we are now
Where no one knows what is right and wrong any more, you can be saying or doing something that you feel is right but to your greatest surprise someone will boldly tell you is wrong. So many philosophies and ideas has made human lost there sense of morals. It's my humble advice that we should always have a second thought of our actions and reactions, it shouldn't be you.

We already know say right from time, anything about us when tribalism de inside no de end well, if you be igbo, Hausa,  yoruba, ijaw or what have you, carry am go your village meeting go showcase your love for your tribe.

The idea of using a particular language for the board na to allow for ease in understanding what one is saying and their is no need to even think on creating a sub board or special thread for a particular tribe. Na nija when get millions of tribe you want de create sub boards for tribe? Na bitcoin matter we de talk for here and if you no fit use between pigin and normal English talk wetin de your mind, then you no really get wetin to talk and e go make sense make you kuku rest.

I be Omo Igbo, aje okuta ma mu omi confirmed 😏. It's in my moniker. I should've taken the Yoruba speaking and writing thing seriously while growing up. I regret somehow I didn't. Though I can speak it, not fluently the way I want. The thing is that I grow up in Lasgidi before I relocated to Panya now. I love languages.

BTW, I don't think anyone should be doing tribal stuff here. Here's an anonymous forum. We're all Nigerians! That was why I contributed to that thread when I did. If I could speak German, I would also be contributing in their thread.

I support senior the rule number two is very clear and stand to be binding force to all perticipating under the naija forum in every rule must not be hundred percent favorable to everyone but this rules of the forum have no side effects to me and I also support on the fact that any organization which member choose rule to obey and leave others have difficulty to stand there we must avoid this and enforce every one to abide by the rules. op I congratulate you for always keeping us on the lane through remembering us what the rules says  and urging us to deviate from ethicity and language that curse harm thanks

I don't just understand, when that newbie come the forum shabi e see say it everything they go fine, this language matter so na just to bring tribalism and hatred among our self, e go make some persons come dey feel like say dem get people wey Dem go call my person the love balance no go come dey again. Ok just imagine say as we come get many merit source say them come dey merit based on their tribe, and your tribe nor get merit source, how you go feel, make we nor just dey talk anyhow just because the forum na free place oo.

For Nigeria we get 3 outstanding language before other if you say make Dem make yoruba local board how about the rest, I no go lie you wen ones tribalism don enter something just know say na massive destruction naim await that thing so, so abeg make una wey come e never Tay try to observe the kid of place well una go go talk some kind things. I thought Niger Deltan are not Muslims. But some people can be Christian, or use Muslim or something similar to Muslim names. Some Niger Deltan family might have yoruba because you should have seen tribes marrying different tribes. The only person that I know there is Mpamaegbu which I thought was not Niger Deltan (I do not want to disclose his tribe). You can also see a Yorùbá speaking Igbo or Hausa, that does not matter if the Yoruba post on their local board.

They are much into it. Many young guys do not even know how to keep it to themselves, you will see them discussing about it.


End of discussion. Just two languages are allowed. English and Pidgin. We still all have the same conclusion.

The funniest thing is those who were actually communicating on that Yoruba thread were Niger Deltan using Google translate to write there. Yoruba tribe are not much into crypto or maybe like to keep it secret. I could be wrong though.

The future is hard to speculate. If that thread was active, it means there are many Yorùbá people on this forum and if we are many, do not underestimate masses.

I am not saying Yorùbá people are not many on this forum, but you can easily understand that we also prefer it in English even before this board was created.
