The conman won't give up, even when it is very obvious that he has not been successful with his agenda of spreading lies and deceiving his small followers. I wish he ends up in prison, many bitcoiners wish the same thing for the attack he has meted out to bitcoin developers or anyone who challenged his lies. It is a suspended sentence though and he will stay away from the U.K. for now, however, this is progress made.
I am assuming that this criminal has sponsors who are financing these lawsuits. Maybe they think he would win these cases so that they can benefit from the royalties or gains that might accrue from the Bitcoin whitepaper and other intellectual property. He has just been given a warning by the court, if he tries to come up with such baseless claim, he might end up in jail.
the thing is that if the law is against him I believe that definitely he will go to jail, its certain from my understanding, so in another way round, you have to know that if the judge's is compromise he will not be jail even when they know that he is guilty, but a process whereby the judgement is sincere and is not compromise justice can prevailed

I see no reason for claiming to be satoshi nakamoto while he is not and he tried the best to make sure that the world believed he is satoshi but on the other hand he failed because his claim werent back up with some facts that he is satoshi or even signed messages from his bitcoin address or make some transactions from his wallet to prove he is Satoshi, then fine, he could have won the battle, but instead fighting a blind battle with no facts to show he is nakamoto.
BTW, 12 months is actually very pitiable to him otherwise, country like ours he could be sentence for 6-10 years imprisonment for allegedly claiming what he is not, anyway that place would serve him as a resting place to enable him use his right senses.

But the audacity of trying to impersonate  or be Satoshi Nakamoto is quite a headache.Meanwhile, why would anyone want to be so desperate and curious about the Satoshi personality, they said heavy is the head that wears a crown but the reverse is what's in this template completely.Everyone wants something good, but only few are willing to pay the price.

This guy needs to stop getting attention in the public. He didn't win anything, if I were him he should have focused on his shitcoin, Bitcoin SV. I guess that he'd do more meaningful things if he just simply focused there and stopped suing the developers and minding his own business.
not all meaningful things can get him attention none of what he is doing is productive but he certainly made himself known and popular even if it is for the wrong reasons many opportunities have closed in on him but i am sure that he also created ones for himself because of this the internet is funny and sometimes instead of just ignoring someone who is clearly looking for attention they will continue to give it to him and please what he wants so at the end he still comes out of this with a little something
He's made some fork and shitcoin and that made him productive in there. That's what I am saying that with the wrong doings that he keeps on doing, he should stop and get himself a life by doing something else that can be meaningful to him and his community. By the way, I don't know if he's really got a community but with the looks and volume of his fork, it seems that there is but all silent and are just waiting for it to boom. I don't think it'll happen but we'll see that project eventually die and he only has to realize those things then.

After reading the OP, I can only imagine the kind of punishment the real Satoshi Nakamoto would have gotten if he didn't hide his identity at that time when the government was seriously against Bitcoin and there were lots of haters promoting FUD in the minds of people willing to give Bitcoin a try. Craig is only sentenced to one year in prison, suspended for two years with a fine for claiming to be who he is not. He should have claimed to be Satoshi when the government was still very angry with Bitcoin  Grin,  his punishment now would definitely be very light compared to what he would have gotten then. I just hope he serves his punishment and repents.

About time that he's put in a place that is well deserved for people like him, let him cool off in jail, we'll see if a correctional facility will correct his character. He's lucky to get only a six month sentence, I think that he deserves to stay longer than that in jail as a deterant to others that will want to follow his footstep in the future. Satoshi, has created Bitcoin and decided to stay anonymous for a good reason, so that there'll be no claim to ownership of Bitcoin by any individual, group or country, so that it'll be truly decentralized. I won't be surprised if he comes out and starts all over again, if he does, I hope that he'll keep going back to jail until he learns to stop

i know this old man and he has tried to sue bitcoin developers several times and claim that he is the real satoshi. this old man is really crazy about claiming that he is satoshi, even i can say that the court is fed up with the nonsense he gave in court. none of his arguments were proven and he just claimed without any strong evidence, he sued many people without clear evidence, and this is the same as playing the court just because he is rich.

he deserves this punishment, and he should get a harsher punishment, even if it means banning him from being involved in things related to bitcoin on the basis of market misleading and baseless claims.

I do not know what happened to Craig Wright for continuing suing bitcoin developers in the cases he has lost all the time.
I don't know if anyone has said it here already but we have a very popular saying in Nigeria and it explains Craig Wright's situation very well. The saying is, who the God's wants to kill, they first make him mad. In the case of Craig Wright, I am not inferring that he is going to be killed or die but that metaphorically speaking, his reputation and name is what is going to be dead by the time this is all over. And that is if it isn't over for him already. There is nothing for him to prove. If he claims he's Satoshi, it is very simple transfer some Bitcoin out of his wallet, then we will all believe him and apologize to him.

The court has been so lenient on him. He has reigned for so long that I began to suspect a kind of conspiracy between him and the US government. Sentencing him is a kind of relief to my memory but I suspect that after 12 months CW will continue his frivolous claims. Maybe it is time we accept his behaviour to be part of the industry drama that will ensure for a long period of time (as long as he lives and bitcoin exists).

The maximum sentence for contempt of court is 2 years. The lawyers asked the judge for 2 years, not suspended. The judge chose 1 year, suspended for 2 years. It is rare for contempt sentences to be longer than 30 days, but this case was serious

Suspended sentence means that if he breaches the Judge's injunctions against Bitcoin-related lawsuits, he gets to serve the 1 year, he gets another contempt conviction with a longer sentence, and he has to serve both. If he stops now, then the injunctions are effective, he doesn't make any more fraudulent lawsuits. If he tries again, he gets his 1 year in prison, plus more prison time

The dude is mentally ill. He should be in a mental hospital instead of prison tbh. I ain’t no doctor but he might be schizophrenic. Obviously he built an alternative reality for himself and he lives in it. There, he is the inventor of bitcoin, thee satoshi nakamoto, god of math and cryptography, master scientist, lvl100 archmage, craig the white.

Or maybe I am wrong about all…

He is just a fucking scammer. Grin

Either way I am glad he ain’t succeeding at whatever he has been doing.

Roger gives similar vibes too btw. Not as crazy though

Man who falsely claimed to be bitcoin creator sentenced for continuing to sue developers

You all know who I am talking about. He is the most well known Faketoshi. I do not know what happened to Craig Wright for continuing suing bitcoin developers in the cases he has lost all the time. The court has said he is not Satoshi Nakamoto but he still continues to sue bitcoin developers. He has now been sentenced to 12 moths in prison.

On Thursday Wright was sentenced for five counts of contempt of court. Sentencing him to 12 months in jail, suspended for two years and to pay £145,000 in costs within a fortnight, the court also struck out his enormous claim.

Edit:

It was a suspended sentence.

This is a big clap back to his self that no one believes on everything he says. Hopefully he realize that when he is suspended to do any further more crazy actions regarding on his fake claims. Right now he became a big mockery in cryptocurrency scene so hopefully this is the end of his craziness and we see him stop claiming that he is the real Satossi Nakamoto.

What government do also leaves certain warnings to other people who planned to create a false claim that they are Satoshi Nakamoto to think about it since if they cannot provide any solid proof that can verify everything what they want to say then provably that they may also experience what that famous Faketoshi get.
Everyone is really just that waiting for someone who do able to move out those Satoshi known wallets for those coins to be transferred or simply being moved on which this will really be the only proof on what the community is wanting. Its been long time that this clown had been turned out to be a mockery into this entire space and even into those other faketoshis on  trying out to claim that they are indeed Satoshi but no one had proven out themselves to be that the real one. They've been asked to move out coins to back up their claims but all of them do end up on being a clown. How about on trying out to suspend or getting imprison into those faketoshis in all the list?  Cheesy

This looks funny and what is the real reason behind him saying that he is the creator of bitcoin. Many clamps like this have appeared before but people will stop when the public starts to identify that he is not the creator of bitcoin and over time the issue will no longer grow. Craig Wright is trying to lie to the public and his clamp is not so basic and then what does he want to prove and how after being sentenced will he continue to try to convince the court and the public itself.

It is like a person who says that the treasure is his and maybe overall there is an advantage when he wins the case in court. But the question is what does Craig Wright expect who is too busy convincing the public that he is Satoshi Nakamoto.

He isn't Satoshi Nakamoto and we all know it but he still tries to find loopholes and prove what's wrong, he tries it because there is so much to gain for him on the table. If he proves that he is Satoshi, then he will be able to claim rights on the ownership of Bitcoin and Blockchain technologies, he will force developers to fork and give him an early mined 1 million Bitcoins. In overall, he will have total control of Bitcoin.

id love to see him in prison, but he is not going..
I'd say that I'd love to see him in prison but I think that prison is not the right place for him. He has mental problems, that needs treatment, prison will only worsen his mentality. This man should be put on antipsychotic meds and should get the right treatment. He is so bad that he doesn't deserve treatment but I think it's humane.

The length that a man willing to go for greed is somehow amusing to see, to the point of claiming what does not belong to him. I'm not surprised for this case, there is a case where a family sued a man for winning a mega win lottery, although the story is quite biased for readers. That's why I see this Faketoshi case is another case of greed. He deserved that as a lesson so he would know when to stop his stupidity.

I see that filing lawsuit for fortune is a quite common practice nowadays, there is also someone who make it as a way of make a living, namely Jonathan Lee Riches.

What’s actually the big deal reporting developers after several warning yet no evidence, the fact he lied claiming someone else’s identity is strange. Satoshi had reasons staying anonymous and no one knows what exactly has happened, seeing someone with such thought and the end result is disgrace well, good for him besides he should serve the punishment as this stand as a warning for others including false documentary about Satoshi.

Oh yeah, we need to be seeing more of these, it’s been way too much I must say. People just come out of the blue and lay waste or ridicule the whole idea of Satoshi Nakamoto and the plans to stay anonymous through all the creation and springing the creation into mainstream.
This in a way would make these guys who claim to be what they are not would think twice before digging or coming out to lay claims. It’s terrible of them for real.

I thought as much because 12 months seems to be very massive for force claim or whatever. But my question is,.what was he suspended from actually?, Because I'm not sure of his current involvement/position in the development and maintenance of the Bitcoin. Well, it's not surprising that he isn't willing to back out of this dramatic claims, because the world is currently filled with different kind of people, including those that have no shame, like the faketoshi himself.

Personally, I believe the creator/founder of any project won't find it difficult to convince people that he/she owns it. I believe that the government are 100% certain that he isn't the one. They're as well looking for the true Satoshi for some reasons, so they aren't buying the whole Craig wright story.
